Paint-Tailed Pythons(PTP) are a
unique breed of pythons that
have paint seeping from their
tail tips. PTP tend to be slightly
smaller than their close cousins,
ball pythons, females being around
2-3 feet long and males 1-2 feet long.
Hatchlings are dramatically smaller at
only 5 inches long.
Pythons tend to be quite intelligent,
and PTP are no exception. PTP tend
to be quite shy when first introduced
to their owners, but will warm up quickly
and soon become inseparable. PTP have
exceptionally long lifespans, and have
been known to live for upwards of 60 years.

What does this PTP like best about Fall?

Fall is the only season he doesn't mind all too much. In the summer, there's too many people outside for his liking. The winter is much too cold and the spring brings allergies. He appreciates the fact that all the annoying children in his neighborhood head back to school, leaving him with some peace and quiet to read. He also loves that there's a whole holiday dedicated to scaring children, which he takes great pride in. He can be seen hiding on branches in bushes or trees, "jumping" out at kids, covered in "blood" (which is really just ketchup).

What does this PTP like best about Fall?
November's absolute favorite part of autumn is those days right before halloween when the TV is on and showing the 13 Night of Halloween on ABC family. I, as always, love halloween and love those movies as well. We're not completely sure, but she seems to love it when I get exited as she often gets exited as well. We know she doesn't understand the TV so we've basically narrowed down that November really likes it when her owners get exited. She thinks it means extra mice for her. She loves it when she can curl up right by the warm fire in a pink, fuzzy sock watching the movies. Sometimes she's even allowed a candy apple.



A Tidbit of Her Personality

Empathetic
You know that saying 'you don't know someone until you been in their shoes'? Nova took that quite literally. She has often times found herself putting herself in their position, judging everything from their views. It help her a lot when she's trying to comfort someone or, often times, get into a heated debate, but it can sometimes be a hinderance.

Intelligent
November is an incredible problem solver whether it's school intelligence or just street-smarts. She has no difficulty figuring out a problem and then solving it in record time while helping several people out. As a hatchling, she used to spend hours just studying her surrounding and looking for possible problems that might affect her in the future. This quickly turned into a habit that she does

today, so if something wrong does happen in her life, she's prepared to face whatever it might be. She also has a nasty habit of being able to unlock the latch to her terrarium.

Friendly
Nova is one of the friendliest ptp that you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. Part of it is her empathy towards others, but most of the time people are drawn to her friendly personality and happy demeanor. She loves to meet other, no matter if they are 'popular' or not. She's shy toward strangers but eventually warms up after a short period of being introduced.

Imaginative
Nova is not only imaginative, but also creative. As I start to put more and more locks on her cage, she's always managed to figure out a way to get around them and often times, I will find her wandering the house after she escaped yet again. She's opened the fridge before with her face and took the frozen mice, eating them all.

Determined
When she sets her mind to it, theres no way Nova is going to back down. Even when she fails, she just springs back and tries it again and again until she eventually gets it right.



Favorite:

Song
Nova's favorite song is, in fact, my favorite song since I tend to go around the house and blast it at full volume. She kind of picked up the tune along the way. What song am I talking about? The wonderful song Top of the World by Greek Fire. The song itself is from the upcoming (as of now) movie called Big Hero 6.


Food
Not matter what, November absolutely loves Candy Apples. She used to eat them all the time as a hatchling, but since they aren't very good for her, she's not limited herself to eat them only on holidays or other special occasions.




The Meeting
The first time I met her, she was cold, wet and miserable. Her scales were covered in dirt and she was skinny beyond belief. I had been walking home from school that day, my backpack slung over my shoulder, huddling in my small coat. The wind was freezing, making the air seem even colder than it was. I was anxious to get home to Bumblebee, who I knew hated this kind of weather more than anything. Knowing him, he’d probably be curled up under his headlamp, but I still wanted to be with him.

It was when I passed the alleyway that I knew something was off. Usually you could hear all the stay cats that lived there, but today there was nothing. Not a peep. So, being the stupid person I am, decided to go check it out.

Turns out, it was a great decision.

I didn’t see anything other than a few boxes there, so I was about to turn back when I heard a hiss. Low and dangerous, like Bee would do when he was mad at something. I turned around and there, curled up in a small ball, was a python.
It’s scales were a muggy brown color, though I couldn’t tell if that was from the dirt or just it’s natural color. It was skinny enough that you could see it’s bones, with some missing scales here and there. It was about three feet long, with dirty blue paint all over the box it was in.

Making a split second decision, I inched forward. The python hissed at me, but made not move to strike. It might’ve been too cold or just didn’t want to, either way I considered myself lucky. I placed my hand on it’s head, before moving it so I could pick it up. The snake didn’t seem to like that decision, as it squirmed making little huffing noises.
I held it close, hoping that some of the my warmth would help it. The snake eventually settled down and I carried my new load back to the house as quickly as I could.

Bee was in the living room when I got there, curled up on the couch with one lazy green eye looking at us before deciding that we weren’t interesting enough and went back to his afternoon nap. I placed the dirty snake on the ground in front of the fire, hoping that once it warmed up a bit, it would be smart enough to stay there.

Rushing to the kitchen, I grabbed a towel and wetted it with warn water before walking back to the living room. The snake was still there, seeming to be enjoying the fire. I sat down beside it, and started trying to clean the dirt from it’s scales. As it turns out, the snake wasn’t that dirty-brown color; it was a beautiful white with some bright brown spots all over it. It’s paint was a vibrant blue and it was one of the prettiest snakes I’d ever seen.

It was right then and there that I decided that I’d keep it. And that happened to be one of the greatest decisions of my life.


The Mark
Something that Nova prides herself on is the mark on her side. It's shaped almost like a pirate skull and she loves to show it off and will often get into my dress up room and curl up in the pirate hats.

What does this PTP like best about Fall?
This PTP loves the crisp air and, while she can't make them crunch, she loves to hear leaves crunch. It is a bit morbid, but she likes to hear it. It is very satisfying.
Believe it or not, I found her whilst walking through the park. A strange blue trail made me wonder what was happening. I followed it and found a young PTP slithering over leaves, looking quite dejected. Quite familiar with the breed, I approached her and asked what was wrong. She gave an easy response, I can't crunch the leaves. I offered to both house her and crunch leaves should she ever want so. This was back when she was but a hatchling. Now they have formed a strong bond, and Rowan has become part of the family.

What does he like best about Fall?

Garner loves the brisk, cool weather. He loves to either curl up inside wrapped in a plush blanket and watch the leaves fall. He likes to go outside and wriggle around in piles of leaves, as long as it isn't too cold. He likes it when it's just cool enough for sunshine to not shine in his eyes, just cool enough for a warm cup of tea. He likes to be cozy, but not hot. He likes to feel safe and warm and a little bit at peace, though he does enjoy friends, and playing video games while drinking hot tea. Aaron likes a relaxed life.

Friendly;
Garner is very friendly towards other PTP's. He likes to make it well-known that he is a good friend and that he'll help anyone in any name possible. He doesn't like to let anyone feel left out. If he ever sees someone alone and looking sad, he'll greet them happily and cheer them up in the most non-creepy way possible. Garner is kind and encouraging and tries to stay friendly with everyone at all times.

Sweet;
Garner is extremely empathetic to other PTP's problems. He always wants to make sure they know they have a friend, and that they never need to feel sad. No matter how mean someone is to Garner, he'll always be nice to them and try to see the situation from their point of view. Garner is very kind to others, especially those he knows is having a bad time. He tries to make them feel better in any way possible, whether it's hugging them and telling them everything will be alright or telling them jokes.

Humorous;
Garner is a jokester and has a good sense of humor. He knows just what to say when his friends are feeling down. He loves jokes and usually uses corny ones from a 1-dollar joke-book. His sense of humor is good but his choice in jokes is usually bad, purposely, because he's learned by now that corny jokes usually make people laugh more. He doesn't care if people laugh at him to feel better, he's always willing to be the center of attention if it will make other PTP's smile.

Safe;
Despite his lively personality, Garner likes to play it safe, and snuggle up next to someone he loves. Garner likes to be cozy underneath a fluffy blanket as he plays video-games and watches the leaves fall. Garner doesn't like taking huge risks. Garner gets crushes easily and, like the name, it usually crushes him. He has never learned not to love every male PTP he sees and it always ruins him. So, as Garner usually plays it safe, love is one thing he can never control.

Smart;
Because of Garner's fun, peppy personality, his intelligence is often overlooked. Garner is very smart and secretly likes to do things with words, like crossword puzzles and word searches. He is a good problem-solver and likes to challenge himself intellectually. His least-favorite kind of study is math, even though he's actually not bad at it. He's better at geometry then arithmetic, but out of everything his favorite kind of intelligence is reading and writing.

Best Friend

Garner's best friend would be Paint-Tailed Python #33. He loves to watch tv and play video games with PTP 33 (whoever wins him of course chooses the name and gender and everything). They get along very fine and have fun together. If they're male, they might even get together on account of Garner knowing that's the only PTP who will never let him down.

Relationship With Me

There is no ownership behavior that happens between Garner and I, rather that I am his friend and caretaker and I'd never let anything happen to him. I let him do whatever he pleases and try to keep him out of trouble, but mostly, I let him live a very free life.

Qi's name and nature are contradictory. While his name brings to mind life, his demeanor and interests do not. Qi's fascination with fall is the way leaves die and fall to the ground, after being alive and attached to the tree for so many months. [wip]

What does this PTP like best about Fall?
she loves the fall leaves because they feel good along her body as she tunnels under and through them. they are also great camouflage when she is sneaking up on her best friend Angel, the red tail boa. Angel has a disadvantage during this season as she is black and gray which does not blend into the beautiful colored leaves. She also loves the sound of the wind through the tumbling leaves and the fresh pine smell to the air. She enjoys snuggling up in her den and listening to the leaves rustling along the ground in the cool air out side.
