Arron wrote:What I would change? I would change all of those stupid heroes and villains and their cliché plots, they grind my gears SO bad. I mean, a villain kidnaps a girl, who then gets saved by the hero after much struggle, and then the villain repeats the whole process, seriously? Why are there so many stories with the same plots, so boring. Why don’t those villains ever learn from their mistakes? Take the so-called ‘genius’ villains for example, they can make the most complicated weapons and robots without breaking a sweat, but thinking of a different way to beat their opponent? Nooo ofcourse not, no that is too difficult. As if that wasn’t bad enough, many of them also make the mistake that they catch the hero and send them off to a slow and painful death, such as having a ceiling with spikes slowly lowering to crush them… and then they walk away and let the hero out of their sight?! Really? Isn’t it obvious that the hero will then have a chance to get away? That always happens anyway. And self-destruct buttons? WHY? Why would they do that?! Argggghh! Makes me SO mad!
Then there’s ‘the girl’ which doesn’t have to be a girl but just a target. The girl’s always weak and can’t defend herself at all. Maybe inexperienced villains would see that as a good target to kidnap, but kidnapping someone the hero cares about causes the hero to ‘power up’ or at least get more motivated. Seeing as this is the case, why do many villains keep kidnapping someone precious to the hero over and over again, don’t they see that it won’t get them anywhere?
Not to mention those endless speeches. Seriously, why do heroes give speeches of ’justice’ over and over again. They aren’t about justice, more about screentime alright. What are those speeches supposed to accomplish? Defeat by boredom? As if anyone listening to that display of archaic words strewn out over such a long time would suddenly surrender. If a timebomb is set to go off in one minute, why do they always talk for five minutes, and still have time to escape? I measured the time for a few of those instances. Minutes had passed, so much for reality. Then there’s the case where they talk DURING fights. Why would anyone do that. If you sneak up on someone from behind and yell something while attacking, that person will know that you are coming. Bye surprise.
Really, if I could change something about the world, I would just give brains to all of those heroes and villains. Or no, even better, I would discard them and make new ones, because the old ones are already too far gone to be saved.
