Ell looked around the giant house eagerly. He had recently been adopted, and he was ready to explore. He sneakily poked his head around the wall corner, and jumped. "Joshi! What are you doing here?" Ell said, looking at the direction of his imaginary friend. "Well Ell, hah that ryhmesssss, I wanted to ssshow you ssssomthing!" The imaginary blue winged snake hissed, and led the tiny plumie around to the kitchen. "Woah Joshi! Look at all the food!" Ell said in a purr-like voice, looking up at the countertop, where there was a big bowl of milk, and well as some fish-shaped crackers. "I think you ssshould try and jump up there!" Joshi hissed, grinning. "All right Joshi!" Ell said, leaping up. "Thissss isss the life." Joshi 'said' flying up to him. "Yeh."
And the little plumerian and his fake friend sat and had a feast.

"it's a small world after all," sang the cheerful voices of dolls on the disney ride, a small plumerian sitting alone as she rode through it.

flashback: opening her eyes for the first time. she felt blinded, mortified by all of the colors and sights to see. as time passed, however, her eyes blinked widely and she saw everything. from the plants to the flowers to the sparrows in the sky. from there, cassidy vowed: she was going to see it all.

"it's a small world after all."

flashback: with time, she couldn't find her mother or father, so she did what felt right. wandered to the train tracks, sprinted with all of her heart, and she ran as hard as she could, tiny legs boosting her onto the clattering train car. she tumbled straight into the wall on the other side, alone except for a tiny stuffed turtle, a worn map, and a compass around her neck, strung on a necklace.

flashback: she came to a place with a lot of snow and temperatures that bit at her face and paws. she knew this was the end of the line, and she jumped into a snow bank; the snow was constricting, suffocating her nose and mouth, but she struggled out. she didn't know where she was, but she explored, lithe as a lone cat. she came to a small establishment. the porch light shone dimly in the light of dusk, but nevertheless it was a beacon to the young plumerian. she approached and knocked. someone answered. "hello, little girl!" they chimed, confused. "where's your mother?" she only blinked.

"it's a small, small world!"
