Why: When Kaori joined the herd Tobias wanted nothing to do with her but with Kaori being so hard-headed she pushed her way to him and hes had to "deal" with her ever since (though he loves the company and attention she gives him). Kaori loves to argue with Tobias and prove what shes right. Tobias is always trying to be right about every little thing and Kaori like to put him in his place. Even though they have their fights, Tobias knows she's good for him and sometimes you can even catch him being sweet to Kaori. And she loves knowing shes always got the upper hand because she could just run around and tell all the other equids that Tobias was being sweet, and he'd completely deny it and start arguing that it's a lie. But most of all Kaori loves just being in Tobias's company and talking to him about life. Tobias makes it all seem easy even though they bicker, it wouldn't be the same without her Tobi.

They found themselves socializing in the weirdest ways, and now they can even be seen wrestling and/or galloping together, and do a far range of activities- from swimming (Atlantic's favorite) to sunbathing.

Why: If she did have a best friend, he would be a stubborn and loyal WME. He would be adventurous and brave, always taking risks others wouldn't dare to. Ripple would try to keep him out of trouble, but it wouldn't often work. He would be thought of as foolish by many of the other Equid, and Ripple would always try to defend him; not that he need defending. He's trustworthy and flirty, but never flirts with Ripple, as he values their friendship too much.

Why: Amelia and Fallon's friendship is an odd one. While Amelia is a rather gentle and shy equid, Fallon is nearly the complete opposite. In general she enjoys the company of others and the moment that Fallon came prancing up to her, acting unusually cocky, the two hit it off pretty well. The thing that drew Fallon to Amelia in the first place was her enticing looks, yet when he took interest in her, he learned of her sweet and delicate nature, almost like that of a flower. She enjoyed his flirtatious characteristics and his sarcastic remarks and the two bonded almost immediately. He is overly protective of her partially because over the year that he has known her, he's grown attached to her, and would never forgive himself if something were to happen to her. Around her, his secretive and more harsh personality is dulled and his soft side is shown.

Why: Jocelyn has the usual cold, sassy, and standoffish nature. Wind on the other hand is a bit calmer, but still one to have fun. Her and Jocelyn met while they were only grazing, and Jocelyn being.. well, Jocelyn, gave a sharp reply towards Wind. And Wind, straight off the back, replied with: "It's clear from your behavior that you must have had a miserable childhood." It was a bit unexpected from Wind, but it was funny, witty, quick, and after that, Jocelyn lightened up a little more, and they both shot back their own little quips.
After that, Jocelyn had a little more respect for this new-found mare, and they've grown close. Jocelyn is still cold, but less so towards Wind.

Why: Hyratius' mother always wanted a son. Her father had been killed the winter before, a freak snowstorm had blow up and coalesced their entire herd in a blanket of icy white; a young filly got lost and he went after her - and Hyratius' mother never saw her mate again.

She was born in the spring, and though her mother had hoped for a son she was not - in a fit of rage she was given a male name, to show all that Hyratius was a disappointment since the day of her birth. Her mother refused to shorten it, insisting everyone call her Hyratius (the rest of the herd complied - after all, her mother was the lead mare) but Hyratius had always felt the sting of many vowels, the bitter-sharp snicker when she was introduced as 'his last foal, Hyratius, that one.'

It was the summer of her second year that she met Skyfall, the beautiful young filly whom caused the death of her father.

Though Hyratius' mother tells her stay away from that one, the filly looks at her with clear green eyes free of pity, and Hyratius knows enough of pain to see that this filly has had much. It intrigues her, for a while, and when she moves she can feel the filly's eyes brand her back and her fur catches afire. She has never been given this much attention.

When Hyratius is finally mad enough to snap it is her mothers' weight behind her hooves and then the bones crunch, her mother makes a sound like a scared wounded thing and then she is thrown backward with the force of her mothers' kick, her monstrous bulk looming over her and spittle flying from her mouth, Hyratius is terrified and blood leaks from a wound on her side, not deep but with the bruising pain of a kick and the air around her is thick with the stench of her own fear and she HATES-

her hooves lead her to Skyfall, to a shocking cry that builds and builds in her chest until it all but consumes them both. The embrace is not special, but it is enough, and when she leans her head on Skyfalls' shoulder she does not say much - only "you are safe" "it is alright" "let her think what she wants". It is not much, but she knows what she means and what she says and for her to show understanding without judgment is something Hyratius has never had, and she leans on her and Skyfall says nothing for a long while.

Then Skyfall turns to leave, and at that Hyratius pulls away, tilts her head upwards and peers through a pair of watery blue eyes at Skyfall's green.

"Do you want me to show you something?" the older filly asks slowly and mischievously, a smile flickering across her face, to which Hyratius dries her tears as best as she can and nods a firm reply. Skyfall leads her hoof-over-hoof to the rise of a small hill that overlooks the plateaus where the herds graze. From here her mothers' herd is tiny, a speck in the vast flat world that spreads underneath her feet. "See, Hyra?" Skyfall calls playfully, bumping her shoulder with her own. "See?" And Hyratius, whom no-one has ever bothered to give a nickname, well; she flies.

Later when the sky is dark and the speckled grass on the plains darker still, when the mountains break their proud backs under the weight of the night sky, Hyratius looks up from her home on the knolls and whispers things her mother would be dread for her to hear, things like "I know" "I can" "I will."

And even when the years pass and Skyfall is lost to the wilds, Hyratius never forgets her. Never. Because Skyfall, more than anyone, knew her. And that is good enough to be remembered.

Why: Sakura and Cinni [Cinnamon] get along together like chalk and cheese. Sakura is active, but not hyper. Talkative, but not a chatterbox. She has a bright look on life. There is always a silver lining for her. Cinni is quiet and shy. She's an introvert and she only opens up to her close friends who she trusts with her secrets. Cinni is not a pessimist, but some of the more optimistic equids may mistake her for one. For some reason, Sakura and Cinni got along instantly. Sakura is the type of equid that can change an equid's mood instantly. She lights up the room as she walks in. With all that said, Sakura is also a great listener. She's genuine and empathetic. The two seemed to gravitate towards each other. Sakura is Cinni's closest friend, which is considered to be a great honour. Sakura loves to be around Cinni because all they need is silence to understand.
