what is he afraid of?
[ 122 / 250 ]
chronophobia- the fear of time.
the thought of time always scared him. as time goes on, things die by the second and people grow old. he knows he was born into a world where every second that passes is only you getting closer to death itself. the thought of time scares him enough to the point where he refuses to believe in it anymore, claiming "time if just an illusion, a fiction thing. it's not real.". another thing he hates about time, is clocks. oh, clocks. the sound is what gets him the most. tick, tock, tick, tock. the neverending sound of ticks and tocks only make him fear time more. he's afraid the sounds of a clock would drive him mad.
short extra
[ 79 / 100 ]
life's clock
the clock of life is wound but once,
and no man has the power
to tell just where the hand will stop
at late or early hour.

to lose one's wealth is sad indeed;
to lose one's health is more;
to lose one's soul is such a loss
as no man can restore.

the present is our own,
live, love, toil with a will-
place no faith in "tomorrow" - for
the clock may then be still.

socrates strawman

name: Socrates Strawman :: one of the aliases that the original "Wizard of Oz" book character assumed.
    gender: male.
    what scares him:
Socrates is a ditzy young man who has grown up being ridiculed by his peers because he would come to school in patched clothing that was full of straw from his family farm. He didn't do very well in school and was very quiet and reserved, and they often told him that he didn't seem to have any brain to speak of, much like the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz. He eventually became unrealistically fearful that he was in fact missing his mind, and he couldn't think of a way to prove whether or not he had one without hurting/killing himself, because the only solution that he could think up was to cut his head open. He eventually gave up trying to find out, but he still has that fear instilled into him that his slow nature is due to the lack of a brain. Because of this and the bullying he has endured, he shies away from the intelligent and from people in general, because part of the phobia package was also the constant anxiety over being seen as brainless and pushed around because of it. A normal person would find this silly, but he never got the full education he should have because he was always working with his family through the poverty of a farmer, whether it would be labor or posing as the scarecrow. The irony enforced is the fact that his mother named him after a great philosopher.

            name ;; Harold,
from the Old English name Hereweald meaning "leader of the army", derived from the elements here "army" and weald "leader, ruler".
Harold is also the name of a character found in Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, in which I based Harold off of.

            gender ;; male

            what scares him ;; Automatonophobia-
the fear of anything that falsely depicts a sentient being.
They are there outside of your window and in the attic. Behind you their footsteps are easily heard and their human- yet inhuman- eyes judge you while turned. You feel ill, your ease is gone when the guests leave the room, except they do not all leave. Not while they are still here, looking at you, watching you wherever you go. Outside, the wind howls, blowing the body of your outside guest that prevents you from ever leaving that home. The one that prevents you from looking outside to view the sunset and sunrise, and prevents you from opening the shutters.

Even in the mornings you would not dare to take a gander at even the wall where the windows are located, in fear of seeing the sun cast his shadow upon your floors. They are downstairs, cooking you a breakfast fit with only the best of poisons, as they care for you greatly. This is not your home, you are merely the guest of honor, forever.

Anything remotely similar to a sentient being, be it puppets or dolls; skeletons or replicas; snowmen or stuffed animals, is a living nightmare. He lives secluded in fear of the things that he believes to be watching him, waiting for him. Only when they do not watch does he do things of necessity. Seclusion is Harold's only friend, his best, unless you count the one-sided friendship of his... vile, sweet companions.

            Scratch, scratch.
The clenching of the heart, and the numbing sensation passing through the body was the only response to the sudden noise that drifted through the walls. The scratching and the scraping, the footsteps and the horrible churning in his stomach and the sudden caw caw from the crows that sat outside his window on broken posts; the window blowing the tattered leaves, shadows across the floorboards, and the low sound of a chuckle so dark.

He could not, would not move. Such movement would bring upon the attention of the detastable, insatiable, horrendous creature of straw.

            The Scarecrow.

What scares him/her?:
Arachibutyrofobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth

Name:
Scotland, though he usually goes by Scotty or Scott.

Gender:
Male

What scares him?:
Scotland has a fear of beautiful things. Whenever he sees something that he likes, whether it be a simple object or another Kiamara, he becomes overly attached and does whatever he can to get his hands on it. This 'narcissism' is viewed as a curse, a plague that has been with him since childhood. Scotland often finds himself staring at gorgeous objects in front of glass windows for hours, until the sudden urge to purchase the object envelops him. Its like a whole new being takes over his mind, like a new consciousness. He spends his time fighting against this other 'Scotland', screaming at his body to stop, begging his mind to make the right decisions, to snap out of it. For this reason, he avoids anything that he finds to be interesting and/or beautiful at all costs. That way, it's easier for him to fight off his selfish desires and return to a 'normal' state, especially if the object that he finds beautiful to be another Kiamara. Soctland has gone through a lot of relationships because of this. Since he doesn't want to seem like a stalker following around the girl with the cherry tree markings or the guy with the shimmering fur around, he goes up to them and asks them out. And this has caused him to shut himself out, merely going out with someone for the sole purpose of being able to stare at them without it being odd.
