Autumn is.....definitely a character. Many people find her absolutely THE most annoying horse on the planet. She doesn't like to listen to anyone. She has an odd but joyous air about her, so that even when she is annoying people she is also making them happy. Autumn loves attention, in shows or even for visitors at the farm, she will snort or do a little buck just to get all eyes on her. Even though she has to make these little displays, Autumn is a hard worker and if treated properly will give back 100x more.

Image

Autumn is lighter bodied than most rangers, at first many looked down upon her for this. For cart races though, Autumns small size helps her to go much faster. She also has amazingly strong will power and spirit. Even in the worst of situations Autumn never gives up. Autumn is also gifted with a slightly larger heart, this again helps her go faster for longer. Because of her brave and care free nature Autumn almost NEVER spooks.

Image

Her small size is and advantage is some spots but a great disadvantage in pulling, especially in teams. In teams Autumns small size will offset the balance and she can often not pull quite as hard. Autumn is very bad at being a work horse because she likes to go fast and do what she likes.

Image

Autumn adores sugar cubes, they are her favourite thing in the world. The sweet sugary taste, the crunch as she bit down and the feeling of the sugar melting away...She is also a fan of racing, she loves to compete and hates to lose. Autumn has always had a soft spot for cats, most likely because she grew up near so many.

Image

Dogs! When Autumn was a little filly she was chased about the paddock by a stray mutt. She received a few fairly minor wounds before her owners were able to save her. Since then whenever she sees a dog Autumn panics and becomes angry. Losing at anything. Having horseshoes put on, her owners don't even have them put on Autumn anymore because she was so bad when being shoed. It was the heaviness, the odd shiny things in her feet, it all just really bothers Autumn for some reason.

There are not many horses at Rose River farm yet, so Autumn's only hose friend is a mare named Dough. The two mares spend all day together, grazing alongside one another, swatting each others flies and sharing stories.

Story from her foalhood

Autumn shivered and looked about the bleak, dark lit barn. Where had her momma gone? Why was she in this little space? The two week old filly was full of fear and confusion. She and her momma had been taken from their little farm early this morning, when they got to this place her momma was taken off into a separate area. The stalls around Autumn were all occupied by other foals. Suddenly a human shoved a thing on her head and yanked her out of the stall. She was led out onto a brightly lit area, many people sat in front of it, talking so much that a all the voices merged into a buzz of chatter filling the air. Suddenly a fast talking lady began to talk, no one in the crowds said a thing. Then Autumn saw her momma, standing of to the side, looking about worriedly. The little filly reared and yanked her lead out of the mans hands, she raced toward her momma. People tried to grab her but she was determined, she got to her momma's side and pressed her nose to her mothers pelt. The people grabbed her shank and began to drag her away, she bit the man and he was about to smack her when a womyn's voice split the air. "Leave her be!" an angry looking black haired womyn stormed up to him and ripped the shank from his hands. Many people stared at her with looks of disapproval but she payed them no heed. "500, I will pay 500 and this filly is mine" she stated boldly. No one else would pay even the smallest amount for the scrawny draft foal, so the auctioneer shrugged and yelled "Sold! for 500!". The womyn would not let the man take Autumn back to her stall, she did it instead. "I am Vitani, nice to meet you little gal" she said with a voice that was sweet and yet bold. Autumn was worried when the womyn left but Vitani returned later, she removed her belt and gently placed it about Autumn's neck. Autumn was relieved to have the halter, with the chain that went in her mouth, gone. Vitani could not get Autumn's mother as she was headed far away to drag trees for a lumberjack. "I am sure you will be great in your own way" Vitani said with a smile as she loaded Autumn into the trailer. Autumn was raised at Rose River farms, she missed her mother dearly but Vitani was the best darn human mother any foal could get. When they had arrived, Vitani let Autumn out in a pasture with another foal, this one an orphan. Her name was Dough and after that day they never parted. Autumn even got her name the day she arrived, the little filly had never been outside before so when she found a patch of fallen leaves (It was fall) she immediately began to frolic about in it, earning her name Autumn.
