gender: stallion
halter color: icy blue with blockish/crystalline patterns of white and darker blue
story:
The stallion tossed his head in the darkness of the float, nostrils flaring, pawing at the air with a forehoof, his ears flicking backwards and forwards with a widening rim of white around his eyes. Even after the three-hour trip in the float from the airport - after which most horses would be exhausted, not even considering the plane journey beforehand - Orrin was keyed up and jittery with nerves. Not exactly the calmest of stallions even at the best of times, new smells and sights were accosting him already, and his blue eyes darted around, trying to soak up every tiny piece of information and confirm that, yes, no ravenous, toothy monster was waiting for him outside the float. Even then, the smells of new pasture, new tolters, and new people weren't exactly the comfort that Orrin was looking for, and his flanks heaved as he sucked in air urgently, his heart thudding in his ears. His pelt matched his personality and his name - snowflakes, crystalline, and easily shattered. He was fretful and skittish, and ever so slightly contrary, which made him interesting to ride, and even more interesting to move to a new stud halfway across the earth.
Orrin was coaxed, stiff-legged and baulking, into a reluctant backwards shuffle out of the float, a human girl with a dark, tumbledown mane patiently tugging at his leadrope to encourage him to keep going. She knew that stern disciplinary methods weren’t going to work here - this was unadulterated fear, not disobedience, and before long, her forgiving methods had the stallion out of the float and standing on the loose, grass-flecked soil of his new home. Orrin drew in a shuddering breath as soon as all four of his hooves touched the ground, feeling the exhaustion of his long journey begin to seep into his mind now that the adrenaline and fear had subsided.
Before he could properly relax, a ringing neigh echoed from a few meters to the right, and Orrin’s ears darted back to attention, his head jerking up from the patch of ground he’d decided to investigate.
A black-and-white pinto filly, nearly a yearling by the looks of it, had popped her head over the wood-panel fence, her ears pricked forward eagerly, whinnying a welcoming hello to the new arrival.
Orrin’s first instinct was to shy away, not expecting the sudden appearance of something else to deal with, but the filly’s eyes were soft and beckoning, and the stallion’s racing heartbeat began to slow down. Somehow, the filly calmed him down - if she looked so happy and content, and well-fed by the sheen of her coat, then what was there to be afraid of?
Haltingly, Orrin arched his white-splashed face towards the other tolter, hesitating as if he was expecting a backlash, or for her ears to flatten and teeth to emerge; but the filly eagerly brushed noses with the stallion, whickering that it was nice to meet him, and that her name was Koda.
Njórinn let out a weighty sigh, the tremor in his limbs subsiding, and he decided that maybe it’d be okay for him to live here. The shadows didn’t look so much like monsters poised to leap out at him anymore, and even as he was introduced to his stall in the barn and to the other three stallions in the stud, he remained calm, readily anticipating the peace and quiet of his own patch of land, where he could sleep.

It’s only short, but I hope you enjoy it! C:

Story
The world seemed to slow itself as I was loaded into the shadow of the starting gate, where dreams could be made and crushed. The only sound breaking the unholy silence was the pounding of my heart in my head and my furious breath in my ears. My feet shifted subconsiously in the moist dirt, searching for a good hold to ensure the survival of this dream of mine. Then, the distant ringing sounded and the gates opened up before me, revealing the expanse of wonder and curiosity. Time ceased to exist in that moment as I looked down the track, wondering if victory would be mine today. I launched myself from the starting gate, time slowing with every beat of my heart, then allowing me to see everything. The other horses were around and behind me as we made way down the track, each hoping for victory and none for deafeat. Ever so soft was the crop of the jockey on my hindquarters, almost as if an angel were willing me ahead. The thunder of hooves was distant compared to the furious breathing of my competitors. We came around the first curve and I seemed to be drifting away from the pack, further ahead with no challenger for victory, but alas, this did not last long. One lone black horse rose to challenge me as we thundered ahead of the others, both of us willing to risk everything for the win. As we turned together, I realized the side rail was growing closer; close enough to feel. The black challenger had sucessfully done his job; to push me into the rail. The sides of my vision began to blur as I lost precious breath in that one bump, almost causing me to stumble. The black horse was just before me as we made way down the home stretch of the track. The distant cheers and shouts of the crowd in the grand stands began to fill my ears as the challengar neared the finish line. Then, something, some unknown force overpowered me; the will to win. In the last five strides, I ran my heart out, stretching as far as my muscles would allow me. In a matter of what seemed like one Planck of time, cameras began to click and flash, blinding me for an instant. I had won, and victory was mine.

story:
She was just a young filly, standing in her stall when one of the hands came to get her from her stall. Was she going outside or getting trained? It was unclear at that time. She was loaded into a trailer, just being groomed a little while before. They drove her to an auction barn where she was unloaded into a dusty paddock between 2 other horses in their pens. A couple of people came by to look at her but just sighed and walked away. Why was she here? Another one came by stopping and looking at her. This one stayed a bit longer, grabbing the piece of paper and checking her information. He put it back and walked off, obviously not interested.
She had no bids and when they took her back to her stable she was completely calm, just confused of why she had been brought there. They put ads up in the news paper, on the internet, many places, though no one came. An 8 month old filly apparently wasn't very interesting as much as the other older horses.
Four months later, a young woman in her early 20's came by the barn to look at some horses, not noticing the filly. There were many appaloosas, paints, and quarter horses as well as thoroughbreds and mustangs but none were calling to her. She looked at every horse again and saw her. The filly, only a little over a year now, looked at the strange lady calmly. That was how she acted anyways, though not very spirited she was very playful. The lady decided she was the filly and asked how much she would be. The owner said she was cheap since no one else wanted her, though she had quite the lady look.
The next day the girl returned with a trailer attached to the back of her truck. She gave the owner the money for her then loaded her into the trailer. The filly happily following, not sure why though. They drove off to her new home, letting her run in an acre field before taking her in the barn for the night. She had been put in a pen, much like at the auction house but only one other pen. It had no bedding, hay, or water in it so she guessed it was vacant.
She woke up, not realizing she had fallen asleep. A wooden nameplate had been hung on the gate. The letters printed "Royal," which was her new name. The young woman had gotten her registered as "Bring Me Royalty." She hadn't noticed that there was a wooden door open behind her that lead to a small paddock, accessible from both pens. The other one still vacant, Royal decided to check her surroundings, a hay net, water bucket, straw bedding, and a door that lead to the outside. She walked out, noticing a small log that acted like a jump. She cantered toward it and popped over it, slowing and looking around for any more logs. None.
After a while the lady came to check on Royal and saw her jumping over the log. She had different plans for the mare but Royal seemed to love to jump. She climbed over the fence, watching as the mare trotted over to her. Royal had greeted her with a soft nicker, not expecting the girl. She followed her still as they walked to the barn with her pen, following her inside and being completely mellow. The girl had her halter hung on the gate. She shut the door then fed her and cleaned the stall. Then she groomed the young filly. She left the barn after feeding and checking her water, which was full.
Some months went by, more and more pens were set up in the very roomy barn. She had started her training now, up to the point where she was trotting over poles.
Her training went on for a while and soon she was showing! Her first show was a jumping show where she got third and that wasn't bad saying she was new to shows! THE END!
I know it's long, and I'm sorry! I couldn't find a way to finish it when it was half that length.. x.x
Anyways, I hope you like it!
