1st entry--Harlequin

Postby dreamwalker » Mon Sep 22, 2014 4:02 am

Sorry if the color name is incorrect, after looking through a few sites I've seen this coloration called both tortoiseshell and harlequin (I think harlequin is more the pattern than the coloration itself, but I may be wrong ^.^; )

why|| I would love to be an artist because these lines are adorable and remind me of the rabbits I had when I was younger. It would also give me a chance to better familiarize myself with rabbit coloration and genetics, which I believe would be a fun opportunity. I also find that being an adoptable artist gives me a chance to meet people and express myself creatively and I would love to get to know more people in the TW rex community.
artist experience|| I am an artist for Bear run tolters and I served as an artist for Summer sun ranch as well.
Non-equine experience includes my species the snare horned gazelle (that badly need a line update >.< ) and the species my bestie and I co-run, the African Grinning hounds
And here is a link to my gallery as well in case you wanted to have a look there to see what I have drawn for each species

This is actually a harlequin. I just looked it up and finally found a more understandable source. Try this site out: here. Now I know! lol I'm not too worried about the naming, but it is used for breeding lol No worries!

In short, this is a harlequin, which have the ej ej gene for color extension but can be a variety of colors. Tortoiseshells can also be a variety of color, but they have the e e gene for color extension.

Black Tort (Tort) - shaded sort of look from brown to black

Harlequin - brown and black striped
