Charles Pierce Antoinette
Name Meaning ;;
The true origins of the Maine Coon breed is completely unknown, while there are several rumors none can be confirmed as 100% true. The rumor I'd like to focus on for his last name, Antoinette's origin is one focused on it's original holder, Marie Antoinette the Queen of France. Marie was executed in 1793, though before her passing she made an attempt to escape France with the assistance of Captain Samuel Clough. She stocked his ship with her most prized possessions, including six of her favorite Turkish Angora cats. The voyage was unsuccessful and she didn't make it to safety in the United States, however her six cats did reach the shore of Wiscasset, Maine. Once there the cats bred with other short-haired breeds native to Maine and created the modern Maine Coon.
His middle name, Pierce, comes from the first mention of Maine Coons- which was a literary work published in 1861. A black-and-white Maine Coon by the name of Captain Jenks was written by F.R. Pierce who owned many Maine Coons of his own. He went on to publish more information pertaining to the breed for books such as The Book of the Cat by Frances Simpson.
You may be wondering where the Charles bit comes from, well another rumor pertaining to the origination of Maine Coons involves him as the central character. Captain Charles Coon was an English seafarer who kept many fine longhaired cats aboard his ship. Needless to say when he docked the cats were free to roam, and interact with other native felines until the ship left coast. When long-haired cats began to show up around Maine (since there were at the time only shorter furred cats native to the area) they were referred to as "Coon's cats".

Charles is a parrapup of few words, so sections from here on will be shorter I assure you.
He's generally very recluse, observes from a distance instead of interacting face to face. While he can be forward when he needs to be, more often than not is he simply hiding away instead of bothering with interactions. Charles tends to accidentally push others away, even those he sincerely cares for. When he bonds deeply with another, he may even seem more aloof than he is on a normal basis. Charles doesn't like being touched, and is perfectly fine with using his claws if he must. If for whatever reason Charles wants a hug or some petting, you know he's in a hard spot because he only reaches out to others when he really needs it, preferring to be a shoulder to lean on than the one in need of attention.
