Story:
The honey coloured mare did not flare a nostril or twitch an ear as she stepped into the ring.
Her stance and movement showed her pride and strength. the proud arch of her neck made
the muscle press taught to her coat and bulge . She lifted her knees higher then her chest.
Chin perfectly parallel to the ground that she so easily moved over.
"What a specimen" I heard a man lull next to me, his cowboy hat tipped over his brow so I
couldn't get a good look at his face. I did not know him, nor did I wish to. I could see he was
just looking for some fast money. if he bought the pretty mare he'd surely turn around and
sell her though a private sale to god knows who for a measly profit. Something tugged in my
chest. No, he would not have her, she was not for him.
I sat forward in my seat as the auctioneer began to ramble through digits that i didn't even
hear. I just nodded when ever the ring man turned a greedy eye on me. As the mallet struck
its deal with the wooden block I saw my new horse turn her amber eyes on me as if she knew
exactly who I was. She was mine as i was hers.
