υѕєяηαмє:
*plays dramatic music from Godzilla when reading*
I am the preppy of the paws. I am lord of the Maestro. The one who is the care taker of this magestic beast. The only who who knows its true powers. You may think I am the only one to see this stallion's true beauty, but there is more to who he is.

ѕнσω ηαмє:
The Music of the Night is a reasonable show name for him. It came from the Phantom of the Opera.
вαяη ηαмє:
Professeur is his name. Though, yes, it is very simple and common name for him, but it fairly suits him well. But, since his name is a bit long, we may sometimes call him Profoo. a made-up nickname in this case.
gєη∂єя:
This lovely Maestro is a stallion. Male, if you do not understand what a stallion means. No, he is not a gelding! Why would he be a gelding? His children beyond his children would be just as beautiful as him! I would never dare to geld this handsome fella.

αgє:
Prof is at the age of 4 years old. Rather young right now.

нєιgнт:
This is a very tall 4 year old horse! At the height of 15 hands. His is told to gain more weight, and as he does, he will get just a tad taller. Up to 15.2 hands.

вяєє∂:
Prof is a Quarter Horse. One of the world's most common horse breeds. His coat is perfect for this breed. And his conformation and attitude is as well just as good.

¢σαт:
Dun Roan is a most famous and wanting coat by any horse lover. This is possibly one of the reasons why Prof is very expensive and well being. His coat is kept groom everyday and washed every week. I am a little bit picky when it comes to his sheen coat. Knowing that all the mares would want to begin to breed with him.

ρєяѕσηαℓιту:
Prof is social but yet a challenging horse!

SOCIAL
Prof is a social horse. He is quite interactive and interested in the world around him. Social horses like him, are the official greeters of the horse world. Even as youngsters, he loves to be pet and made a fuss over. They often enjoy playing with other horses throughout their lives, such as his lovely mares he calls over. Prof is the most likely to welcome you into his personal space, and he may be quite happy to invade yours.Sadley, Prof struggles with his attention span when he is ever so young, just because the world is so interesting to him, such as those mares across the pen from him! Overall, he especially is the more passive one, he can be very rewarding to own and easy to train. Prof is usually more tolerant of poor handling than the other horses.

CHALLENGING
Prof is a challenging horse has a strong sense of self and may seem prideful or arrogant, especially because he is young. Usually he can be guarded and somewhat territorial about his personal space, he is also frequently confrontational about aids or any form of stimulus. Often confident, Prof is prone to opportunistic behavior and may exploit timid or inexperienced riders and so needs constant clarification of his place in the social order of the horse-and-trainer relationship. Prof is usually near the top of the pecking order of his "herd" and may quickly become a bully if given the chance. He is often strong, brave performers with a certain charisma.

ѕтσяу:

αят:
    Image

ℓιкєѕ αη∂ ∂ιѕℓιкєѕ:
Prof likes to run and jump, having fun in general. He is one to taughnt the females, wanting them to round up. Since prof has a high attitude, he loves to be perfect. Meaning, he likes to be groomed and washed. Profs quirks are to his likings as well; Collecting shiny things he finds in the pasture and putting them in his stall to rest by.
Now, Profs dislikes are another thing. Which may be a lot. He dislikes fowl smells. His nostrils are big and powerful and can smell up to a mile away. (over exagerating) He doesnt like to be touched on the hooves, unless you are the cleaning lady trying to muck out all the dirt. He hates the fact that he is in his stall half of the day. He enjoys the outdoors too much and does not like to be boxed in. Some horses may love being fed treats such as apples, carrots, and sugar cubes, but Prof....tends to stay on a diet. Prof doesnt like it when you do not trust him. He gets the feeling that you are too good for him and scared.

вяєє∂ιηg:
Prof is not able to breed yet, as he still needs more training as a young 4 year old horse. He is perfectly wanting to breed with the mares. He is so eagar, but for me, he will have to wait until he can reach thee age of 5 years old.
though if he were to be bred, Prof will only take high qaulity Qaurter Horse mares. The must be perfect and purebred with great comformation.

Peruvian Paso (25%)X Mustang(12.5%)X National Show Horse (12.5%)X Thoroughbred (25%) X Morgan(25%)
Coloration:

Age:

Personality:
Maestro is very quiet and solemn the majority of the time. He's calm, cool, and collected. He's almost regal in the way he holds himself and goes about his daily activities. Whether he is grazing or quietly observing the herd, he seems extremely king like. A bit like Bambi's father. However, don't let that fool you by any means. This fellow is a firecracker ready to explode- He's got an awful temper, and he isn't very tolerate of mistakes. He's a little squirrely , too- and has a few odd quirks, but that's what makes him so adorably hilarious- that bit of his personality outweighs his hellacious temper. He's also a little spoiled- He always has the best of the best- he'll turn his nose up to anything else! He eats the best oats and hays, the very best pasture is his, and the silly beast won't go to sleep without his music! He's very passionate about everything he does, and works extremely hard to be the best in all he does. He is also extremely adamant about imposing his 'ideas' on others. He tests his riders, and surely asserts his dominance in his herd.

Story:
Erebus shook his head, and laughed. The stallion before him bucked and thrashed wildly, tossing his head to and fro and giving a shrill, grotesque squeal. He left behind him a swirling cloud of dust and clumps of dirt ,and a crumbled man coughing on the ground. Erebus walked over and offered a hand to the man, who stood and grumbled, dusting off the seat of his pants. The stallion stopped his fit about halfway down the arena, and turned with his head held high, and his tail curled over, to stare at the pair of men. He gave an impressive snort, bobbing his head. Which of course sent Erebus into another fit of chuckles. The man waved his hand angrily, still grumbling in Russian and likely cursing the both of them- before he ducked out of the arena and limped to the Barn. Erebus turned back towards the stallion and walked to him , still laughing.
"Alright, you , time to call it a day. " He managed to finally speak, reaching to take the reins in his hands. He gave the stallion a pat on his neck, and turned, walking him with ease out of the arena. The stallion sort of slow motion trotted behind Erebus- somewhere , at least, between a prance and a trot- his head still held high and tail still curled- as if he'd just won the Derby and was flaunting it. When they returned to the barn, Erebus took him to the cross ties and removed his tack. He then began to groom the stallion. When all was said and done, he released the stallion into his own pasture- seeing as how they had yet to introduce him to the other horses.

In the pasture, the stallion was a different horse all together. He calmly, almost regally, walked through the tall grasses- his neck arched gracefully as he grazed . He was calm and refined, majestic. All prim and proper. Erebus speculated that his behavior would likely be the same around the other horses- Wild and uncontrollable is they didn't do as he pleased- and calm , protective, somber and silent when all was well. What a strange horse He'd happened upon- so full of spunk and fire- and a bit conceited to boot. Erebus chuckled again, turning away from the stallion with a wave of his hand. Silly Beast, he thought, shaking his dark locks. He had his hands full with all fo these new arrivals, that was for sure, and each more complex and delicate as the next. What a strange place Silverbell had become. And he loved it all the more for it- strange beasts and quirky personalities and all.
One thing was for sure- Maestro would certainly fit in here.

      name: Taking Center Stage 'Ringleader'
      gender: Stallion
      age: 12 Years
breed: Quarter Horse x Tennessee Walker x Spanish Mustang x Lippazaner
      height: 15.0 hh
      coloration: Dun Roan
art: (The reason Timey doesn't enter these things.)

      Image
      Image

history: Ringleader was a bit of a pasture accident, and because of his crazy lineage it was never thought he was going to be much of anything, and as he got older he was just another mouth to feed for his owners, who eventually sold the colt off to the first interested buyer, who happened to be a little girl and her single father. The girl, Violetta, was absolutely thrilled to have a horse, like any other little girl would be. Her father was glad to give his young daughter a distraction from the nasty divorce he'd gone through with his now ex-wife. Violetta's worries melted away when she worked with her new yearling. Even more so, she took dance lessons every week. And as she got older and her riding improved she began to use the balance and flexibility she had retained from her dance lessons, and use them to try her hand at a bit of trick riding. After a couple falls, she got good. At 13, she was approached by a trainer at the stable where she boarded Ringleader, Manteca Creek. This turned out to be destiny at work, cause three years later she was participating in Vaulting competitions all over the country, whether it be in a solo act or with her friend Renee and her mare Johanna. Trophies and ribbons decorate her room and Ringleader's stall now, and Ringleader loves every second of it.
personality: There's been many an egotistical personality among the horses that have lived at Manteca Creek, but Ringleader really takes the cake. If given a mirror in his stall he'd likely prefer to look at himself all day then anything else going on outside his door. He's extremely into himself. EXTREMELY. He likes himself so much it's truly astonishing he has any admiration to spare for anyone else in his life. Ringleader walks around like he's all that and a bag of chips and never fails to mention his many accomplishments, and if human he would have likely received a swift punch to the face a long time ago. However into himself he is, there are some people and horses out there to have the capacity to like him. He's also got a huge pride complex that makes it near impossible to admit he does actually admire someone, whether it be friendly or romantic.
owner: Violetta Sykes - His dear owner and rider. She's raised him since he was a foal, and the two work very well together. When in the ring they seemed to become one creature.
      event: Vaulting
co-star: Don't Feel Like Dancing 'Johanna' - Ringleader likes to think he could get on fine without this feisty little mare, but deep down he knows she's a vital part of his performances.
friends: He's made a couple of friendly rivals in the past, but ultimately Violetta, Renee, and Johanna are the three he connects with the most.
lover/crush: His pride won't allow him to admit it, but he does kind of have a thing for Johanna.
likes: Coming out on top, awards (Trophies, Ribbons), being the center of attention, Johanna (Refuses to admit it.), Violetta, his friends, showing off for audiences, himself.
dislikes: Losing, allowing his soft side to show through, cancelled performances, long training sessions (He thinks he knows everything already.), being the least flashy thing in the room, being ignored.

story: Johanna had known her life was over from the moment she laid eyes on him. The dull ache in her heart turned into a stabbing pain when she knew for a fact that he felt the same way somewhere deep in his mind, but his suffocating ego wouldn't allow him to show it. Sometimes she could see it in his gaze when he watched her move about the ring. For brief moments in time his usual arrogant mask would disappear, and she could see pure admiration for her in his gaze. At least that's what her mind made it out to be. In one of these little moments in time, when he caught her eye, she grinned. And for a moment in time she could run a little faster, jump a little higher, and spin more brilliantly than ever before. This made the crowd go wild, which almost always managed to bring him out of his little trance and back into his fantastical reality. She still stared, but she knew it wasn't at her any longer. It was the lights and the ring and the audience, and in his head he was picturing him doing all the moves she performed.

It was all work and no play for him when they were in the spotlight. Ringleader was so focused on his own choreography he hardly noticed how well the two of them worked and moved together. From and outside point of view it was a phenomenal sight, and you could almost see the chemistry between the two equines as they jumped and twirled. The chemistry that was undoubtedly there but unrequited, and would probably remain that way for eternity. They mirrored and contrasted with each other so harmoniously, and he was blind to the whole thing. It destroyed her, though the warm smile she wore said otherwise.

She cherished the rare compliments he gave her every now and again but ultimately it wasn't enough to keep her waiting. This in turn managed to confuse him, and confused her when he reacted almost like a jealous boyfriend when she began striking up conversation with some of the stallions they were competing against. His behavior might have brought her great excitement a long time ago, however now it infuriated her. 'Of course he would take interest when I finally managed to bring myself to get over him. Of course he would,' She muttered in her thoughts as she went to confront him about it. A short temper on her part and a poor choice of words on his once more made it sound like she was nothing but a business partner to him. Johanna never gave him a chance to state his true feelings, which he seemed to be finally realizing. They still worked together, but when they had once moved together like mirror images, they weren't quite in unison any longer. They didn't hit the ground at the same time. Their spins were out of sync. The performances just began to slowly fall apart. The relationship dwindled to simply being business partners, as it might have always destined to have been. Deep down it pained them both, but they no longer had the words to voice this to each other. It was just too difficult for three simple words to be uttered. 'I miss you.'

    Show Name: Take the stage
    Barn Name: Maestro
    Breed: Tennessee Walker x Thoughbred
    Coloration: Dun Roan
    Gender: Stallion
    Art: Wip!
Personality and a bit about Maestro:
Maestro is more on the sweet, calm side, though many judge him to be an energetic, outgoing horse. He is very calm and easy going. He enjoys his discipline of Western Trail. When he is not busy training or at an event, he spends most of his time trail riding. He often takes groups of people on horses through the forest and meadows. Every once in a while he will take people through the same trail on a carriage with another horse. Maestro also volunteers at a local animal shelter and veterinarians. He acts as a therapy horse for the people who are nervously waiting for their pets after a surgery or other procedure. He also plays with the children while they wait for their pets if their getting a check up and is even used to get cats or dogs used to being with other animals if they need it. He also enjoys just grazing in his pasture and relaxing. However, he can be a bit noisy. He has a habit of taping and stomping his hooves and flapping his lips. Music has always made him happy and relaxed.
    Discipline:
    Maestro's discipline is Western Trail.
    History:
Maestro was actually a rescue. We found him injured in the forest on a trail riding session when he was a foal. His leg was stuck in a fox trap. We had two tour guides that day, Meghan and Alison. Alison stayed with the group and carried on with the tour. Meghan stayed behind with the foal. She called in to the ranch for help. The veterinarian team, along with a few of the ranch workers came. Meghan was a full veterinarian and Alison was a veterinarian technician, but everyone took turns giving trail rides to visitors. The vets, including Meghan, looked him over after the fox trap was pried open. They clarified that the foal had no bite marks or scratches from other animals., but the trap was his only problem. Fox traps were actually illegal, since the forest was protected because of the trail rides and wild horses. Luckily, it wasn't to bad, his hoof had been a bit damaged, but as far as that goes, his hooves where hard and had protected him from most of the horrible scratches, but he had broken his ankle. The team put him onto the sled they had brought to carry him back on and made a rap around his leg. When they got back the veterinarians immediately took the foal into the medical rooms. The ranch workers reported the illegal fox trap and the rangers came to put an outdoor security camera where the fox trap had been to try and figure out who put it there. The vets announced that the foal was ok, and that it would have to wear a cast for a while, and would need lots of rest. They also announced that the foal was a colt, and they decided to name him Maestro. They wanted to name him something related to music, since right after his cast was put on, he started flapping his lips and tapping his front hoof. It was quite a sight. They then took him to a foster mother since he was still nursing. Maestro was ok with his cast, but he didn't like to sit still. He soon learned he would have to at times in order for his leg to heal. By the time Maestro's cast was taken off, he was almost a yearling. He started to go out in the forest with a guide at about a year and a half. He soon started his training for western trail, which the staff thought would suit him, at about 2 years old. He started trail riding and volunteering at the shelter a little later. He went through a therapy horse class so he could be a therapy horse at the shelter. He is now a healthy, happy, musical stallion.

        Valse Triste's Ode To Maastricht
'Ode To Maastricht' is one of the most beautiful songs I know. A beautiful song for a beautiful horse seemed only fitting!

        Image
        André
André Rieu is a Dutch violinist and conductor. He is known for creating the Johann Strauss Orchestra, and has been just as successful worldwide as many pop and rock acts. He is a musical inspiration to all, and forever known as the 'Waltz King.' I was lucky enough to visit his 10th annual concert in Maastricht, where hearing his music in person was a dream come true.

        Image
        Stallion
The stallion; a symbol of pride and freedom. Though lacking a little of the 'pride' aspect, André is as free as he wants to be. He's been likened to an excellent king; eager to make everyone happy and do the best he can within reason, though a little nervous about all his power and how to best use it.

        Image
        Dutch Harness Horse (50%) x Dutch Warmblood (25%) Arenberg-Nordkirchener (25%)
I felt an extravagant and well known breed would suit this horse, as well as an element of rarity. His warmblood and harness horse bloodlines contribute to André's excellent gaits and conformation, while his Arenberg blood gives him his primitive colouring and his hardiness.

        Image
        Dun Roan
An ancient yet beautiful colour, I always associate dun with hardiness and strength. André displays both qualities, rarely needing the vet, and being barefoot too! His roan pattern serves to enhance his already incredible coat, making him the most stunning horse ever seen.

        Image
        Ten and a half
An older, more experienced horse, André is wise and always willing to advise. His years do not hinder his movements, rather they give him a godlike grace and air.

        Image
        15.1 hh
Rather short by some standards, what André lacks in height, he makes up for in presence. Due to his Arenberg lines, his mature height is smaller than most Warmbloods, but he considers himself much larger than he actually is. (17.3, perhaps?)

        Image

        Image
André is certain his purpose in life is to make others happy. He wants everyone to smile, and everyone to appreciate the world around them. He can't stand sadness, and tries anything to cheer his friends up. Since he is so willing to please, he can be a bit gullible at times, and needs to be watched around strangers. André can't comprehend the idea that not all the people in this world means him well - surely everyone is just as nice as him? He's a great friend to all of his adopted family, and will try his heart out for the simplest beginner rider to the most advanced equestrian.

Most of the time, André is incredibly patient and tolerant, quite unusual for a stallion. However one thing he cannot stand is badly sung or played music. Many of the stable hands pass the time by whistling or humming, but not usually in tune. Poor André simply wants them to make noise properly, and will become demanding and rude if approached by a not quite standard musician. If his display does not work, he will retreat into a shell and sulk. His odd little 'episodes' never last long though, and he will soon be back to his usual cheerful self.

Some think the world is made for fun and frolic,
And so do I! And so do I!
Some think it well to be all melancholic,
        To pine and sigh; to pine and sigh;
But I, I love to spend my time in singing,
Some joyous song, some joyous song,
To set the air with music bravely ringing
Is far from wrong! Is far from wrong!
        Harken, harken, music sounds a-far!
Harken, harken, with a happy heart!
        Funiculì, funiculà, funiculì, funiculà!
        Joy is everywhere, funiculì, funiculà!

Ah me! 'tis strange that some should take to sighing,
And like it well! And like it well!
For me, I have not thought it worth the trying,
So cannot tell! So cannot tell!
With laugh, with dance and song the day soon passes
Full soon is gone, full soon is gone,
For mirth was made for joyous lads and lasses
To call their own! To call their own!
Harken, harken, hark the soft guitar!
Harken, harken, hark the soft guitar!
        Funiculì, funiculà, funiculì, funiculà!
Hark the soft guitar, funiculì, funiculà!

Despite being a liberty horse, André goes surprisingly well when being ridden. He is worked under saddle only once or twice a week, since he can get stressed very easily. He schools third level dressage, and does not jump. With a good rider, he is fluid and cooperative, making sure he gets everything right. André detests every bit excluding an aluminium French-link snaffle, which is very gentle on his mouth. Every ride on him is a dream, since he works so hard to please.

        Image
André was part of a small but intricate breeding programme outside of Maastricht, in the Netherlands. The goal was to create a versatile and rugged horse that could still move nicely. André's sire was the foundation stallion, Valse Triste, and his dam was Vrijthof Muzikale (Vrijthof II x Muzikale Magie). Unfortunately, the project ran into money issues, and had to sell their most promising colts and fillies. André found himself in the hands of a capable woman, who brought him up, and introduced him to the basics of riding and working with humans. His talent was recognised very early; he was intelligent and quick to interpret even the smallest signal directed to him.

Liberty became his discipline of choice. The lady worked very well with him, and became increasingly well known. He became a travelling horse, jumping from one performance to the next, and loving every second of it. Thousands were awed by the beautiful stallion, who always took centre stage. The pair moved to the United States, where the lady began to teach others the art of liberty.

Life was hectic across the Atlantic. The lady had less and less time to spend with André, who became morose and dull. The heartbreaking decision was made to sell him to Cottonwood, where he was sure to find a good home. Frank Haase, an enthusiastic equestrian fell in love with the European stallion. André was bought, and taken to be boarded at Fairbanks. He still works in liberty, and brings joy to all around him.

        Favourite Mare:
        Fiddle
André thinks Fiddle is the most fantastic mare in the world. It's incredibly strange for a stallion to get so attached to one mare, but we have a perfect example with these two. He doesn't get to see her very much, since the mares and stallions are separate for safety reasons, although he gets glimpses every now and then. When he sees her, he'll whinny and carry on until she answers. She thinks he's fabulous, but is a little intimidated by him. André and the nervous little mare are known as the 'Romeo and Juliet' couple of Fairbanks.

        Best Friend:
        Longley
To be honest, Longley is everyone's best friend. André and him are great companions, with Longley being the more sensible one, and André his happy, inquisitive partner. They cheer each other up during difficult times, and enjoy the good times together. The two are turned out in adjacent pastures, so they often have fun 'races' up and down, sometimes resulting in a pulled shoe or two. No one really expected these two to like each other, but they've become the absolute best of friends.

        Worst Enemy:
        Tympani
Tympani is a downright horror when it comes to meeting new horses. André has a 'first impressions are lasting impressions' attitude to new horses, which is probably why he dislikes her. When Tympani was walked past André's stall for the first time, she stopped and gave him a long hard look. André was happy to meet a new friend, and came forward to say hello. This was a mistake- Tympani interpreted that as aggression, and turned into a raving maniac, kicking and biting and all sorts of nasty antics. When she was finally dragged away, André was left with a deep loathing, and a great fear of the mare.

Why am I drawn to him? Yes, I am drawn to his flawless lines. Yes, I am drawn to his stunning colour. But my love for this horse goes deeper than "Oh, he's sooo pretty!" As I mentioned earlier, he is named after the fantastic Dutch violinist, André Rieu. This man is an inspiration to me, and I was very happy to name the CWHR Maestro after him. Like Rieu, this stallion has been an inspiration to me as well. I feel no tension or doubt when writing or drawing him, and I've come to love this horse through the story I've created, and the joy he brings me whenever I imagine his odd little quirks and habits, or his interactions with other horses.

        ~To End The Performance

        The Beginning Of A Song
The music danced faintly on the wind, caressing the soft moonlight that fell on the fields. It strayed away from its source, and faded gently into the night. On the outskirts of an antique Dutch city, a light parted the darkness. Here, the same music could be heard as well. Like an ill-tuned violin, a small radio spewed out scratchy sounds into the night, and into a dimly lit barn. The melody could still be heard, and the quality of the music was still evident despite the static.

          "Very good, Vrijtje very good!"

An exhausted mare lay next to her new-born foal, gently nuzzling his neck. A white-coated veterinarian and a tired young man sat near her. The music waltzed slowly around the stall, calming both man and beast. Content and peaceful, the birth of the foal seemed to bring a tranquility to the barn, quieting nature's chatter outside and the conversations of the horses. A pause in the music signified the end of the song. And as it sometimes happens, the pause lingered for a while, clinging to the quiet. Slowly, the silence was pushed away by a soft voice introducing the next piece to be played. Curious, the foal and his mother pricked their ears, listening intently to the noise, seeming to notice it for the first time.

Ever so gently, the first notes of Ode To Maastricht floated from the radio. They were clear; the static had disappeared, making it seem like the little foal and his companions were directly in the Vrijthof, where André Rieu's music was being played. Not wanting to leave just yet, the veterinarian and the man stayed, enjoying the sound. The foal could not understand the music, yet he could feel it. And it felt like heaven. He was drawn to the wondrous sound, with the melody that could almost be seen before him. Curiosity, love and a sense of enjoyment filled the little colt's mind, encouraging him- beckoning, even.

To the notes of Maastricht's most beloved song, André stood for the very first time.
