Story:
I gazed off at the view in front of me, beautiful lights glowed in the forest at night and tonight just seemed even more beautiful than normal... Or do I just feel like that every night?
I walked through the forest, staying out of sight and in the shadows. I preferred to see and not to be seen, but on occasion I do run into the creatures that live here.
Everything here seemed magical, and I never want to leave. For what is life without the beauty of this world?
The planet itself almost seemed alive, and it was well cared for I can assure you. Large blue creatures who stand on their hind legs care for this world, and all the creatures in it.
I guess that could include me, but I try to stay away from them, but from time to time I find my favorite snack piled beside me when I wake. So I assume it’s from the strange creatures.
I strolled along, looking around at the sight of everything, taking in the beauty of this world, Pandora as I’ve heard some call it.
It seems nice here, safe and loving. If you don’t anger or catch the attention of the more dangerous creatures that is. The black, fur-less creatures for one. They are a little fiercer and I’m assuming they eat meat... I’ve never really stayed around one long enough to find out.
My head spun around, hearing a twig snap behind me, causing me to leave my thoughts. What was that? I asked myself, backing away slowly as I stared at where I hear the noise.
A low growl came from the bushes behind me, and my eyes grew wide. A gasp escaped my jaws as one of those black, sleek creatures jumped out from the bushes, this one was larger than any I’ve seen before.
I turned and ran as fast as I could, hearing its paws pounding against the earth beneath me. I was terrified, unsure if I could outrun such a beast.
I ran through the trees, finding myself in a clearing full of blue and tan, four legged creatures that sort of looked like me. Hoping they were not dangerous I ran past the first few, glancing behind me to see if the beast was still after me.
But what I saw made me stop altogether, the blue and tan creatures were standing together, fending off the large beast. And I soon understood why.
In the middle of the herd was their young, and they were protecting them. Because I look so much like them, they must’ve mistaken me for one of their babies and protected me as well.
Once the beast was gone the blue and tan creature’s relaxed and turned towards their young, checking to make sure they were okay. One of them went to me, and soon realized its mistake. It almost seemed to smile at me as it dipped its head and went back to its herd, and I just sat there, watching them go.
I visit them sometimes, and they welcome me with glee. But I know I’m not one of them, even though I might look it. I am something else entirely, and that’s alright with me.
