well, Gwen is …
|| buoyant [optimistic] | coquettish [flirtatious] ||
|| tampering [overly curious] | devoted [hard working] ||
|| credulous [gullible] | uptight [touchy] ||
Gwen is either someone you'd want as a trusted friend,
or get away from quickly. she is calm but has temper,
and the two don't fit well together.
The beige colored bean is enthusiastic about nearly
anything and very happy even when the sky is dark grey.
Gwen works hard at what she is passionate about, and
loves to do so. If you know her, or at least met her and
talked, it gets obvious quickly that her work basically
powers her restless tinkering - it's her endless power
source. She may get angry easily, though. She is a
perfectionist at heart, and often overestimates herself.
If she thinks of something as achievable, she sets her
mind to it. If this doesn't work however, or a detail just
doesn't want to be as she thought of, she often takes
it serious, and throws the whole project away. If this
happens, she has a sinister smile or a frown upon her
lips for a few hours or days, causing others to avoid
her even more.
In public, or around other beans in general, she most
commonly carries around a flirtatious smirk or smile,
and is very playful, even cheeky, regardless the gender.
To her, socializing is somewhat a treat, meeting with
people she knows or creating new contacts like a well
deserved break, and seeing friends, like a good cup
of hot chocolate. Gwen sees being around others as
something special.

s e p t e m b e rthe architect of autumn
personality• • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • •September Caprylyl Rogers (named after a month and an ingredient in soap) has a mix of good traits that work badly on her, and other good traits that work well. I’ll start with the not-as-pretty bits of her personality, and save the best for last.
September is very independent. She never wants anyone to tell her what to do. She doesn’t rely on anyone, instead trusting herself to make the right choices. However, she’s so independent that she’s become contrary. If somebody tells her to do something or tells her that she is something, she tries to go against what they said. She doesn’t like it when people try to take her life into their hands. For this reason, protective people annoy her slightly.
September can get rather bossy. She has her own vision of what the world should look like, and she’s not going to let the fleeting whims of others get in the way. She’s impatient when it comes to getting others to do what she wants. If somebody doesn’t comply to her wishes, she gets exasperated about it. Her brand of exasperation involves a lot of sighing and eye-rolling, peppered with, “I thought I told you to…” statements.
Her annoyance is really just a front. Actually, she doesn’t get annoyed very easily at all. It takes a major breach of patience to become truly irritated. She mostly just stays calm until the explosion of shrieking.
On the whole, though, September is a real optimist. She’s generally cheerful, preferring to find solutions to problems rather than dwelling in the negative. To justify her bossiness, she often argues that her strategies really do work, which, truth be told, is actually true. It would just be nice if she could just solve problems a little more kindly.
September has the ability to bounce back from any major, bad event that happens to her. This resilient quality is one of her best. It helps her solve problems, and it’s fueled by her optimism.
September really is, deep down, a curious, geeky dreamer. She can’t help but ask questions: “Why is the sky blue?” “How do birds sing?” and, later, “What’s the composition of cells?”
When she’s not being a bossy jerk, she daydreams. Her daydreams can include anything she likes, but most often, they’re about the season of autumn. She gets totally absorbed in her daydreams, and she can fall asleep sometimes while she’s daydreaming, turning the daydream into a proper night-dream.
September can be a bit geeky and strange at times. As she grows, she’ll begin to like sci-fi and gadgets more and more. She thinks geeks are the best sort of people: they’re funny and they understand her more than “normal” people.
September loves architecture. She is going to live in Chicago when she’s older, because she likes the design of the modern buildings. Her favorites are the curvy, organic steel-and-glass designs that she likes to draw. Other style favorites of hers involve warm colors, cozy yet open spaces, abstract stained glass, ands plenty of room for art. She likes the type of industrial steel that forms a durable coat of rust over it because of the color and because she thinks it adds softness to the hard metal. Buildings are her passion, so she intends to one day make her unique mark on the city.items• • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • •-Building Block Pouch-
[[ She likes to have a building block or two handy. It represents her love of architecture and the endless possibility of simple materials. She also has an odd obsession with them {see quirks}. ]]
-Autumn Leaves Necklace-
[[ She just thinks it looks cool. It’s like her signature touch. Her name is, after all, September.]]
-Pencil Behind Ear, Notebook Next To Paw [or, When She's Bigger, In Her Pouch]-
[[ Just in case she needs to jot down an idea for a building, she has her notebook and pencil with her at all times. Her notebook is filled with messy organic, abstract designs that look like they’re based on a cumulous cloud. In fact, they often are, along with leaves, a tree trunk, or an especially interesting leaf. ]]likes• • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • •-The Season of Fall-
[[ She was named for it, and the colors are beautiful. She likes the cold mornings and the smell of the moldy, sweet wind. She loves wearing socks and sweaters. ]]
-Architecture-
[[ September’s dream is to become a famous architect. She wants to incorporate an autumnal feel into her designs, with warm colors and fluent shapes. Her favorite city, as a result, is Chicago, for the modern buildings. She’d like to live there when she grows up and becomes an independent adult bean. ]]
-Fantasy Worlds-
[[ She can get lost in them in daydreams, and since they’re fantasy, anything can happen! It can be the fall all the time, she could have the power of flight, ordinary objects could get up and walk around… ]]
-Scootering (and, later, Skateboarding and Snowboarding)-
[[ September likes the feeling of flying very low to the ground: the wind in her hair, everything rushing past just below her feet. These methods of transportation are truly the best. Also, they all start with the letter “s,” which her name starts with, too. ]]
-Science-
[[ Science is fueled by curiosity and the need for knowledge. As a smart, curious, geeky girl, September is very into science. It doesn’t hurt that her father is a biologist. ]]dislikes
• • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • •-Tarantulas-
[[ Let’s face it: spiders are terrifying, especially to an innocent little bean like September, after she woke up one day with a tarantula on her face. Poor girl. ]]
-The Season of Summer-
[[ Heat is just unbearable for her. She overheats easily, due to her fur. She can’t swim, either. The weather also prevents her from going outside. ]]
-Romance-
[[ This really is because she’s so young, but September finds the idea of romance revolting. I mean, kissing! Yuck! Except between her parents. That’s acceptable, as long as they don’t do it in front of her. ]]
-Going to Bed Late at Night-
[[ September gets tired easily, so if she stays up too late, she’s too tired to do fun things the next day. ]]
-Water-
[[ September has aquaphobia, which means she’s afraid of it. She never learned how to swim, nor would she want to. The blue depths just look… so… terrifying to her. *shiver* ]]insecurities• • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • •-Her Appearance-
[[ As September grows older, she’ll begin to feel insecure about the way she looks, especially her curly bangs and peanut-butter coloration. ]]
-Her Bossiness-
[[ Sometimes September feels like she’s too bossy and independent. She pushes away the friendship of others too easily with her devil’s-advocate attitude. As a result, she wishes she could change. ]]quirks• • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • •-Random Inspiration-
[[ September can get inspiration for a building from literally anywhere: something someone said, the color of breakfast that day, the way water hits the puddle. As soon as she is inspired, nothing can hold her back. ]]
-Building Blocks-
[[ September is a big believer in children’s building blocks, even when she gets older. She thinks they’re essential and versatile. She’s obsessed with them, in fact. ]]
-Color-
[[ Whenever you ask her what her favorite color is, it changes. It’s always a warm color, but it’s never the same, depending on her mood. It’s usually some obscure color that nobody else knows, like vermillion or falu. ]]
-Collections-
[[ September collects interesting phrases. They are usually hard to find. She has two pages in her notebook dedicated to them. They can be any kind of phrase, whether it be a simile, a metaphor, or just a combination of a noun and adjective. Some of her favorites are “as light as a whale,” “comma-like in appearance,” and “an oddball coaster.” ]]mother• • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • •September has a good relationship with Pollen. She thinks her mommy can be exasperating at times, just like any other kid, but she loves her all the same. The one thing she doesn’t like about her mom is her protective nature. She tries to be more gentle and agreeable around her mom, but it’s hard for her, because it simply isn’t who she is.
She likes her mom’s stuttering. She thinks it’s sweet and tries to imitate it constantly, or whenever she’s near her mother.
She’d like Olle to be a bit less shy, because it can be hard for her to have a mother with a conflicting personality, but she knows that’s who her mom is.
She adores Pollen's birds. They fascinate the young bean endlessly. How do they work? How do they sing? There are so many different combinations of color and pattern and size and shape that she could never get bored of them. She likes to ask her mother about them. It's really the common ground and the basis of their relationship.father• • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • •September adores her daddy. She loves everything about him: his job, his accent, his mustard-colored scarf, his spots, and especially his willingness to answer her questions.
She asks Frent about everything, from squirrels to oak trees and more. She even asks him about mommy’s birds: “Why are they so colorful? Why are you so colorful, Daddy?” She tries to get a laugh and an answer when she asks things like that, but mostly just a laugh.
September does her best to be just like Frent. She studies his accent and imitates it to her friends, with rather impressive results. When she finds his scarf or his tie, she tries it on and prances about showing off.
She follows the rules just for him, because she knows he’s a little strict and likes the rules followed.
She’d go to the ends of the earth for her daddy.brother• • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • •September has a typical “I-love-you-but-you’re-sooooo-annoying” relationship with brother Kenny. She doesn’t like his protectiveness or disobedience, because those traits directly clash with her bossiness and independence. His disobedience also might mean there are pranks coming her way, especially with twin brothers being the mischievous little monsters that they are.
However, she still loves him to pieces. His fun-loving attitude is her favorite part of his personality. She loves to go and do things with him, like skateboarding or getting ice cream (the only part of summer that September likes). She’s openly affectionate toward him, but she still loves to tease.september's life :: an architect's dream [[ poem ]]• • • • • • • • • •
• • • • • • • • • •Sunlight
creaking open young eyes
Shuffle out
from between the orange sheets
Downstairs
touch each step softly
With new paws
walk to the kitchen
Look up
at the kitchen table
See what is
for breakfast today
Record
any inspiration that comes
while munching on cornflakes
for the morning meal
Finish
draw the building
the dream brought
last night
Teeth-brushing
Yes, mother, I DID brush my teeth today
Oops
Scrubbing incisors
for real this time
Outside
admire each gift
the warm colored
paper thin
leaf-wings
still clinging to the tree
Cold wind
blows through fur
Retrieve the scooter
from the shed
Balance carefully
above hard pavement
entrusting life to a pair of flimsy wheels
First frost
glitters
like spilled glamour makeup
or shards of a broken window
on the grass
Motion
pulling the scooter up
pushing it along
Hours pass
Random inspiration comes
a spiderweb
a favorite cloud
the way a leaf drifts
the scamper of a squirrel
an acorn
More pages are used up
blueprints for dreams created
Hungry
Time for lunch
take out the basket
devour the sandwich
Stretch
Look up
the sky is calling
with glimmers of snow
and traces of ice
Ride back quickly
brother’s waiting to go
Donuts
are best eaten
when it’s cold
and with a twin brother
Enjoy
sweet crusted icing
dissolving
Homeward
once more
But first
it’s playtime
Wrestle with
the twin brother
in the park
Once conquered
return
to the house
Sky
grows twilight
first red
fading fast
until the purple hue emerges
Tired yawns
for the end
of a happy day
Plod up the wooden hill of stairs
with sleep-weighed legs
until
at the summit
a bedroom beckons
Slide once more
into autumnal sheets
closed eyes drifting
into an architect’s dream.my afterword• • • • • • • • • •So hey! I decided to put introductions and stuff at the end because I didn’t want to mess up the s e p t e m b e r :: architect of autumn thing at the top ;u;
I’m impossible;; both here and on the fanclub website. However, I’m not very active on the fanclub, because I'm a non-owner and I only recently fell in love with the species.
A quick note: I didn't write this like she was still a baby. I tried to write this for all of her ages, so some of the things she does here are a bit mature for a five-year-old, like going scootering by herself.
All art goes to the winner. Items can be removed from the item ref. Good luck everyone! <3
Art credits: everything by me.
