Story/Personality:
The muffled sound of hooves could be heard as a pony trotted down a singing forest path. Foster took a deep breath of the clear, crisp air, his breath matching the beat provided by his hooves. He looked around at all of the trees, their strong figures and wooden limbs reaching towards the sky. With a smile, Foster pushed for a moment to listen to the sounds o the forest, before rearing and letting his own voice echo through the trees in a loud whinny.
"Foster," a young pony had once asked him, "Why is it that you love the trees so much? Why do you spend so much time in the woods? And why do you love to watch the storms that come sometimes?"
Foster did not need to think long before replying. His voice was wise and story-like as it often was when he had a piece of wisdom to share. "My friend, there is much you can learn from trees and storms."
"I admire trees. They are strong and proud, yet they are not too proud to deny a bird a perch for a song or a home. They take care of the woodland creatures, sheltering them from both the burning sun and the pouring rain. The trees grow in close community, working together to create a habitat. You will never hear one tree say "this is my land, you must go find your own far away." No, the trees are perfectly happy to grow close together. Trees also come in many shapes and sizes. Have you ever seen a tree that refuses to grow beside another just because they are different? No, the trees do not discriminate. Trees are very social, friendly creatures. They never fail to wave to each other, and whisper as the breeze blows. Trees are resilient, persisting and surviving even as the harsh winds pull and push and threaten to knock the trees over. If a tree is knocked over, it does not complain, but rather provides shelter and food for more creatures that it couldn't help if it still stood. Trees also have a great wisdom to teach us, for many trees stand for longer than you or I could ever hope to live.
I also love the uniqueness of trees. They are beautiful, and no two trees are exactly the same. They have uniquely shaped trunks and branches, fascinating shapes that sometimes seem unnatural. They also can display magnificent colors, on their bark, leaves, and blossoms alike. The bark itself often has intriguing patterns, which someone could spend entire days examining. " Foster could have talked more about trees, but he would save the rest for another day an another story. "As for storms, I love to watch the power storms display. Storms are bold and strong, yet they developed from just a young wind or current. Storms can be destructive, but they can also be beautiful. Storms are mere obstacles in life, and you must never let a storm get you down. Persevere, stand firm like a tree. The storms in life bring us closer together, lead us to help out one another. If a friend is going through a rough storm, be the one to help them through." Foster paused, before adding one last bit of wisdom...
