Postby Eremite » Sun Aug 17, 2014 5:11 pm

Blame is a coward but self-righteous
A funny little creature hiding out in me
Hate is power with a price tag
A funny little creature screaming out in me
Listen to me
Fear is a liar but he's been right before
If you fight your shadow, you'll get lost in a war
Ambitions a champ, but he's also greedy
Drunk or sober he always wants more
I always want more
I always want more
Lust is beauty in a body bag
A funny little thing that's screaming "Just use me!"

Show Name:
Masquerade
Barn Name
Mathilde
Breed:
Spanish Mustang
Age:
7 and a half
Height:
15 hh
Color:
Unknown (Will be revealed)
Image
Personality:
Mathilde is nervous and sensitive. She needs to find someone she really trusts to open up and show her true nature. Once comfortable, she is patient and forgiving, although she has her limits. Her gaits are flashy and extravagant when she's relaxed, but when she's tense, she stiffens and runs, making her movements flat and jerky. She's terrified of large amounts of water, and is even jumpy when being hosed off. Around other horses, she is very submissive, an allows herself to be picked on and bullied around. She likes small animals, but is frightened of dogs due to experiences in the past.

History:
Mathilde was born to a backyard breeder, out of a stolen mare and a stallion that should have been gelded long ago. Due to her exotic looks, the breeder wanted to sell her for good money as soon as possible. She was separated from her mother far too early, and was sold to a questionable home. She was left in a muddy field for days on end, with someone coming to check on her once a week. Her feet developed thrush, and her coat began to get rain rot.

She began 'training' at age three. Her body was not yet strong enough to cope with hard work, but no one seemed to care. A heavy western saddle was plonked on her dirty back, and a bit shoved into her mouth. They wanted her to be a barrel racer, which called for the speed and agility that the mare did not yet have. With a large man on her weak back, she was dragged around on a lead, then kicked and pulled around by her rider.

This torture continued for nearly a year, until animal welfare workers were alerted to her situation. She was rescued, and taken to an adoption centre, where her ails were treated, and she was fed well. Once she was back in prime condition, she was adopted out to a loving family. She was treated very well there, and was trained as a child's show horse. When she was five, the area around her home flooded, and she was stranded on a small hill in her pasture. This caused her to be terrified of too much water, but never really affected her training and showing.

When the water line broke, the poor mare was trapped in a corner of her field. She was sprayed with muck and water, and was so terrified, she nearly broke the fence. By the time the repairs were started, she was almost unrecognizable. She could not be hosed off, since the mere sound of rushing water threw her into a frenzy. She was given to Cottonwood by the now money-pressed family in the hopes that she would find a loving home. She did; one of the members of Fairbanks Stables fell in love with her. She was boarded at Cottonwood for a month, then was taken across the Atlantic to her new home.

Story
The day was like honey. Slow, sweet, and everything was bathed in an amber glow. To the west, the sun crept towards the horizon, slowly withdrawing her luminous fingers, allowing the soft twilight to blanket the land. I was content. I had been worked earlier, and there was a pleasant tiredness clouding my mind. The sweet taste of an apple taken from a child's hand still lingered in my mouth. Just as gentle as a summer breeze, the children were. They loved me and cared for me like I was family. To me, this place was home. This place was heaven.

A crack. A bang. Oh dear, that was frightening! I ran to the far corner of my paddock, now alert. I looked around. Everything seemed to be in order. The house nearby was had light pouring out of its windows, not unusual at this time of evening. Several curious whinnies were passed around the farm, but no one could seem to find the source of the strange noises. Eventually, we all settled down. Perhaps one of the stallions had kicked the fence, and refused to admit it. No worries. The scare was over. But what on earth was that odd bubbling sound?

It was a dancing sound, a moving sound. No matter how much I twisted my head and ears, I could not find its owner. It brought a cold and desolate feeling with it, and the noise burrowed into my head, making it impossible to think. Cold. Cold was the only thing my mind could grasp. Cold and wet.

Wet! A feeling of dread rushed through me like a flood. The water had come for me once, and it was coming again. Now it would finish the job. Its tongues were already lapping at my feet hungrily. I needed to run. The fence was weak to the left of the pasture. It should snap like a dry stick, and I could be free of the liquid that plagued me. I took a step towards it. No! The filthy water was there, waiting for me to fall into its jaws. It was to my left, to my right, all around me. My only hope was the fence. I would have to evade the grasp of the water, and flee for my life.

Image
Never think, just run. The horse's philosophy. I'd make use of that now. Into the filth I went, quicker than the wind. The water leapt up around me, scarring my coat with mud. This spurred me on, and the fence grew nearer and nearer. Freedom was in sight! Three more strides and-

Something pulled at my foot. The water would not let me go so easily. I came crashing down. The water danced on all sides of me, reveling in its victory. It fell back down suddenly, and was quiet. I resigned myself to my fate. I would go peacefully and quietly.

But what was this? The water did not rise up to take me. Instead, it lay quiet. I took my chance, and with a mighty heave, I clambered to my feet. The fence was near. I tentatively made my way to it, then gave it a good kick. It did not budge. I wasted the night away kicking the fence, and screaming in terror whenever my foot disturbed the sleeping water, causing it to leap and dance. By morning, I was exhausted and filthy. I could barely stay on my feet as some men helped me through the sea that was my paddock. They took me to a dry place.

I am now hidden from the water in a stall. The children visit me and love me, but they are sad, with doleful eyes and wavering voices. Adults around me talk of strange things, like money and banks and payment. When my name is mentioned, I hear the word 'adoption.' That does not sound like a nice place. I suspect there are no children at 'adoption,' and at the 'adoption,' I will have no friends. Hopefully, the water will not find me at 'adoption,' although I regret leaving my family. I shall say goodbye to them tomorrow. I've had a lovely time with them.

Barn Name: Fluttershy
Breed: Spanish Mustang
Age: 7
Height: 14h
Color: Unknown (Will be revealed)
Personality: Sweet, gentle and loving. This mare only wants love, love and more love. She is the first horse over to the fence for pets and treats and loves being ridden. She adores children and is very gentle with them. This mare is gentle with the other horses too, she is too shy to be a lead mare. She is very delicate and therefore needs so one who will be very calm and quiet while working with her. Because of her nature, Fluttershy's favorite thing to do is dressage. She is happy to have lazy days were she can just stand around in the sunshine and enjoy the breeze. Fluttershy, being a fancy pants again, hates winter and often refuses to stay outside for long if it is to cold.
History:
Fluttershy was born in a feed lot,her first smells and sights were not ones that any foal should be greeted with. No one had bothered to check of Fluttershy's thin mother was pregnant, and now Fluttershy had been born in this horrid place. Her mother had been to skittish to be trained and no one would take the time so they sent her here. Luckily for Fluttershy a lady had come that day to rescue the horses from this shipment. She was shocked to see a newborn foal among the horses and quickly moved her. Sadly for Fluttershy, her weak mother gave her last strengths birthing Fluttershy and died soon after. The lady raised Fluttershy as her own, feeding and playing with her every day. The lady gave her the show name of Shy Little Butterfly because of her small size, shy personality and the way she walk, trotted and cantered in such a smooth, flowing way.
image.jpg
image.jpg (10.11 KiB) Viewed 115 times

The lady trained Fluttershy, and later took her to many shows. It took Fluttershy awhile to get used to the crowds of people watching ,but her riders gentle words always soothed her. She won almost all of the dressage shows with her grace and beauty. Every time a ribbon was clipped to her bridal she felt her heart soar with pride as her rider smiled and patted her. She would take her victory lap with a joyful flouncing gait. Even if they lost her rider was never mad and that was the kind of calm person Fluttershy needed. They traveled the country for 3 years, winning show, after show, after show. It was the best time of Fluttershy's life.

image.jpg
image.jpg (20.23 KiB) Viewed 115 times

The lady was sick with cancer though, and when Flutterhsy was six she decided she could not take care of her horses anymore. So she sent them to good homes and Fluttershy went to the rescue who promised to take good care of her. The lady visited up until a month ago when she became very ill. Fluttershy, already upset by this, was very scared when the commotion happened at the ranch. The waterlines suddenly burst in a shocking snap that scared the life out of poor Fluttershy. Suddenly the paddock was full of muck, Flutterhsy raced through the muck in terror. She tripped several times and eventfully was covered in mud, she even had mud in her eyes, ears and nose. Covered in dirt and mud, cold and wet, Fluttershy was scared witless. After a couple days of standing in that muddy paddock, Fluttershy was shoved onto a trailer and ended up at this new place, terrified and lonely. Fluttershy only needs someone who will love and care for her, hopefully she could find it here.

Rose
Breed:
Spanish Mustang
Age:

Height:

Color:
Unknown (Will be revealed)
Personality:
Rose is a very independently minded horse. She is unflappable,
reliable and a loyal friend. However, She can also be one of the most frustrating horses because she is not easily motivated, giving her the name of “Royal pain in the butt”.She is often not worried about what the herd is doing and is happy doing her own thing, which normally involves eating or standing.
History:
Rose was born in the wild and was taken in for adoption when she was just a weanling where they guessed her to be about 6 or 7 months.Being the stunning horse she was she was adopted to a new home very quickly. The owners trained her to lead and ride bareback by the time she was two, they sold her due to the bank foreclosing their Ranch.A large neighboring stable, bought Rose and registered her with the NAMAR. They gave her a properly fitting show name and trained her under the English saddle. She went to many local shows and earned quite a bit of cash and a few ribbons.Eventually the stable owners decided to sell to the neighboring ranch which was next to CWHR. The owners there trained her in the western saddle and made her a great roping, reining and show horse. With all the work put into her, the accident was a bombshell and it made it very difficult to allow her to be adopted but they decided it was for the best.

    Barn Name: Mirage
    Breed: Spanish Mustang
    Age: 4 Years
    Height: 15 Hands
    Color: Unknown (Will be revealed)
Personality: Mirage is sometimes a bit secretive and mysterious. Mirage is always determined to learn and to develop her skills. Mirage has always been quite the troublemaker for her owners. Mirage is stubborn, outgoing, and decisive. She's pretty impulsive when it comes to decision making and tends to act on gut decisions. Mirage is pretty protective of those she likes but could careless about those she doesn't. Mirage is a bit sarcastic in her actions and is somewhat a hidden romantic. Mirage has her soft spots when it comes to a stallion she likes. She loves nature and feels most comfortable outside, she feels extremely confined in the stall.
History: Mirage was a breeding in which the breeders hoped for a mare for their daughter, and when they got a mare they were sure her temperament would be a good and suitable temperament for their daughter. The breeder raised the mare until she was two, then they let their daughter start to train the mare. Their daughter knew of the mares personality and loved it. She learned how to train horses by training colts and stallions and then adding fillies and mares. She automatically dove into training Mirage and her parents watched silently as the mare made leaps and bounds in her progress. As, Mirage's progress made leaps and bounds so did her trainer. The breeders daughter soon became bored with the mare and asked for something challenging. Being the parents they were, they said yes. They put the mare into the hands of one of the stablehands and let her be.

Eventually the family forgot about the mare, knowing that she was being well taken care of by the stablehand. But when the incident happened and the family had to get rid of some of their horses, this mare was one of the first of the four to go. The daughter had no remorse or guilt and even went as far as to say she was happy to have the extra space. But, when Delvin saw the mare, she wanted to know what secrets were underneath that muddy coat and automatically felt drawn towards the mare. Quite frankly the original breeders were just happy to have someone take the mare off of their hands.

Show Name: Hecate's Winter Magic
Barn Name: Hecate
Breed: Spanish Mustang
Age: 5
Height: 16.1 hh
Color: Unknown
Personality: Hecate is shy and can be fearful, and will need a patient and loving owner to take care of her. She would prefer to be solitary instead of in a herd, and is socially awkward. Hecate seems to have a certain aura to her though, attracting stares. She is very untrusting, but if her new owner works their way into her heart, she will protect them with every fiber of her being.
History: Hecate was caught in a fire as a foal, giving her a sense of fear. She was one of three horses to make it out, her twin brother, Hermes, was not. The two were very close, and Hecate was devastated by the loss. The fire was caused by one of the stablehands, giving her a high distrust for humans.

Yay! Thank you, she is absolutely amazing! And the name suits her with her head markings as well :D
To Frostbite18, I think you worked very hard, so when breedings open again, I'll breed my stallion Vincent with her, and you can have the foal. I don't think chimera will pass down, but you might get a pretty bay or something :)

I hope that's ok. I'll pay the artist and all, but Frostbite18 will own the foal.

Sorry for my absence! I'm afraid my activity here will be slowing down :c
