WME: Great White (Steel Dapple Splash)

Postby KittyCatKita » Mon Aug 18, 2014 2:54 pm

The first girl in my small theme'd quids based on sharks! XD You guys gave me the idea during my stream and you know what, I decided I would do it cause it seemed like there could be some very pretty, but not too complex additions to this theme.

Answer: My favorite shark is the Goblin Shark. Just look at that face xD He's like, "Hey guys, sup! What happened while I was gone?" I don't know if its adorable or weird xD They're also pretty bad arse, like a shark mixed with a sword fish. There should be a movie about them. It would start just like - "In the deep waters, the swordfish shark is coming to get ya"- xD Idk about you, but I would totally see that movie. But just think about it - Your swimming really deep underwater and you run into this thing - you think its gunna kill you right? Nope! It actually possesses no danger to humans what so ever. Also, they live in the Atlantic Ocean, which was were her name came from. I also really like the Basking Shark.

Answer: My favorite species of shark is the Tiger Shark, or the Galeocerdo Cuvier. This has always been my favorite species of shark since I was a little kid because it was one of the first sharks I ever learned about, aside from the Great White of course- but I was always scared of them when I was in third or so grade. The first time I ever saw a tiger shark was actually in a video game that my brother used to play on his gaming console. I was really little so I don't have much memory of those days, but it was before I knew a lot of what was going on in the world and what I even wanted to do in life. It was a game where you dove into the ocean and took pictures of the sea creatures and even swam with a few of them! The game always fascinated me because I thought it was the coolest thing to be able to go into the ocean and be in an entirely different world than the one above. It was calmer and more serene and I never really understood why but I always thought it was almost magical the way the water looked when you went underneath it. This was before I was good at swimming, I've always been afraid of real life water actually, but in pictures and that game I always remember how we first spotted this shark. My brother wasn't even really paying attention, he just was kind of floating around in the water getting his character as close to some weird looking fish as possible. I saw a movement and he went over it and I remember seeing the most beautiful creature I ever laid my eyes on. Now, normally little girls are supposed to be afraid of sharks. But I was so fascinated that I couldn't tear my eyes off the screen. It was beautiful, the way the shark paid us no mind and the stripes on it's skin were so beautiful when they hit the sunlight. The sunlight was piercing through the ocean and hitting on the sand the shark was resting over- that one little image helped me to overcome my fear of water. I know it might sound ridiculous, but it really is true! My mother kept telling me that no sharks lived in the water near our house, but I went straight over to the pond by our house and took my life jacket off for the first time. I couldn't quite go under the water yet but it was just standing in the pond and having my imagination go wild at the world that was underneath and so completely unaware of my own world that captivated me. It was maybe a year or so later when I was old enough to learn how to dive my head under the water with my goggles on. I thought it was the best place ever in the world! I don't remember too much of how I learned to swim under the water, but one thing that always comes to my mind is when I looked over and right below me was a slender, brown fish that almost looked like that shark! I of course wanted to go down and swim with it, but it was too far below me- so I settled for just paddling above it and watching it with curious eyes. My mom said that, after that, I was never scared of the water again. In school I did one of my first reports on tiger sharks and now did I have a lot to say about them! I think I out wrote everyone in my class! I was always tuning in to stories about them and whenever my family and I went to an aquarium I was running around asking if they had any tiger sharks there. I had about ten stuffed versions of these sharks- I was obsessed. I'm older now, and I have grown up from being the little girl that believed those wonderful sharks lived in the waters up where I live. But I still get fascinated with them all over again when I read an article or see a picture. The day I found out they where a near threatened species, oh boy was I devastated. Tiger sharks not only helped me learn how to be confident around water, but they also helped me decide that I want to be a marine biologist. I want to help them as much as I can from my position, and working with other animals would be fantastic. I am about old enough to go to college now, and I have been seriously looking into a position being a marine biologist where I can travel out to the waters that the sharks reside in. I may not have as much imagination as I once did, but whenever I go swimming at a friend's pool or in the lakes, I always make it a habit to find where the sunlight is hitting into the water and I always escape to where it is. It's always unbelievable how that one stream of light can just calm me down so much to the point where I hold my breath for as long as possible just staring at it hitting off of the water and sending the sparkling rays down onto the earth below it. It may be silly but I have this one fantastic species of shark to thank. Not only for helping me get over a crippling fear of the depths of water, but for opening my eyes about another whole beautiful world below our own and for giving me the inspiration to have a career in giving back to the Tiger Sharks. So yes, thank you, you wonderful striped dorks of the ocean. You will always be my favorite.

Answer: When I think of sharks, I think of these powerful hunters- not always dangerous but they have this sense of power and strength as they swim. To me, the Great Hammerhead shark is my favorite shark out there. I'm not exactly sure why but I've always thought they were such an interesting type of shark- I mean, the head starts it all off. They have eyes on either side of the "hammer" which gives them a 360 degree view eyesight; nearly nothing can escape the gaze of a hammerhead. What differs between the Great Hammerhead shark and other hammerheads is its overall size; given that they are approximately 11ft but can grow up to 20ft. Something interesting I learned recently about hammerheads is that they are often avoided by other sharks because they eat elasmobranch organisms and they have superior maneuverability. Another fact that I found really unique to hammerheads is their hammer also propels them faster in the water; think of it as when you're in the car and you stick your hand out the window and flatten it- depending on which way you point your hand will either shoot up or down against the wind. Well, the hammerhead's unique head does just that.
These are just some of the many facts which give me reasons to think that Great Hammerheads, and other hammerhead sharks in general are by far the coolest shark species out there.

Answer: I adore bamboo sharks~!They're a rather friendly specie of Carpet Sharks (bottom feeders) and are great for use in aquariums. Plus, the they're absolutely adorable. They are about 41 inches in length at their full size, and are also called "Cat Sharks" because of their whiskers. Bamboo sharks have very soft and tender bellies that can be easily scratched ;n;
They're also nocturnal and sensitive to light, but are docile and can become accustomed to being handled gently. I want one now~!

Answer: My favorite type of shark is the Leopard Shark! When I was little I lived on the East Coast, and for some reason in preschool, we were visited by aquarium members who brought many aquatic species with them. Fish, seastars, urchins, and my favorite, the leopard shark. While fully grown ones only grow up to four feet long, they brought in the babies that had wraps around their noses (for obvious reasons) and we were allowed to pet them. So we got to pet these pretty little babies and also learn about them, and that is by far one of my favorite memories from my childhood. I'll never forget how excited I was to go home and tell my family, "I got to pet a shark!"

Answer: The Basking Shark is such a neat shark that you never really hear about. They have huge mouths and are the 2nd largest shark behind the whale shark! Imagine how many seals cookies could fit in that mouth!

Answer: Basking shark is my favorite, probably mainly because of their large mouth. When they open it up it just looks so amazing. But I also like them just because aside from their large mouth, they have other things that make thing different from most sharks, such as they are one of only 3 sharks that eat plankton. The other 2 being whale, and mega mouth. I like that, because then if I ever got the chance to dive down with one, maybe it wouldn't want to eat me. xD And then size, as Drizz above pointed out, they're the 2nd largest shark. Yeah, they're pretty awesome. <3

Answer: Honest to God truth here. My favorite shark is the Great White. Reason being is personal, but I will share. They are the most misunderstood species of shark much like myself. Very little is known about this beautiful shark and many jump to conclusions about them. Saying they are vicious killers and should be wiped from the seas. They are not killers, but merely trying to survive on this planet the same as the other sharks. Like myself, its about timing and location. You get them right and the Great White is a friendly creature. Some are even seen giving scuba divers a ride.

You can use the same shark just so you guys know. This is a question as to what your own personal preference is. Some people like the same shark species! I judge by the entire form, not just the name of the shark species ^^ so your name for the equid and the reason behind why you like said species goes into account.

Answer: The pyjama shark! Along with it's fun name, it has a really neat bodyshape and looks super cool slinking through the water, plus check out those stripes! It's a rarer shark but it's awesome coloring makes it one of my very favorites. ;o; And it has a really cute defense mechanism; when it's feeling threatened, it curls up into a circle and hides its head behind its tail!
