The makers were not allowed to die the horses, so they tinted the horses with lemon, cherry and grape powdered gelatin. They had to make sure the horses didn't lick the powder off!
3. Name a frequently misquoted line from Wizard of Oz: The actual line is: "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore." Many people say "Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore" or "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto."

I am in love with them so much <3

Show Name: No Place Like Home
Barn Name: Dorothy
Gender: Mare
Breed: Paso Fino
Height: 14.1 hands
Age: 5 years
Color: Silver Dapple Roan Sabino
Markings: Wide blaze, half-cannon, sabino markings
Genes: E/e, Z/Z, Rn/rn, Sab/sab

Personality: Dorothy has the disposition that of a schoolgirl. She is innocent, immature, and very silly. Despite being far from stupid, she often gets lost in her own little world. Dorothy loves just about everyone, and believes that everyone has a touch of good deep inside them. The mare hopes to be everyone's friend. Dorothy is extremely talkative, and can be a tad annoying with how much she goes on and on. This young gal is a storyteller, with endless imaginative thoughts brewing in her mind. Dorothy believes that there is a bit of magic in the world. If you ever need a little symbol of some innocence or freedom in the world, just talk to little Miss Dorothy.
What kind of tack do you imagine her in? Some nice Saddle Seat tack - a double bridle, the saddle
Discipline: Saddle Seat

Trivia
1. What color were Dorothy's "ruby red slippers" originally? Dorothy's slippers are silver. The reason they were ruby red in the movie was so that they could "show off" the new Technicolor film process.
2. What was used to make the "horses of a different color" change colors in the film? What was humorous about this? The horse of a different color was actually four separate horses. They were not allowed to dye the horses, so they were tinted with cherry, lemon, and grape gelatin to create the white, red, yellow, and violet colors. I'd say the humorous part was that the horses had to be kept from licking off the powder!
3. Name a frequently misquoted line from Wizard of Oz: "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore"
Many say "I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore" or "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore".
Who is my sister's least favorite Wizard of Oz character (Extra Bonus if you guess why!) The Wizard? As he was indeed a fraud?

Extra(s):
Best Friend: Hazel Grace
Friends: Miss Claus, Pistol
Rival: Wharf
Crush/Mate: Fabulous
Future Breedings: Fabulous, Chrome
Theme Song: Don't Worry, Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin/Bob Marley
Likes: Nearly everyone, smiles, happiness
Dislikes: Frowns, tears, sadness
Fears: Tornadoes, witches
Worst Thing She's Ever Said: "Excuse my language, but that is not very nice!"

Name: Toto
Gender: Male
What is Toto's breed? The dog whom ended up playing Toto in the movie was a Cairn Terrier, but in the books of the Wizard of Oz, the author never states the breed of the dog, just describes him. Many believe he is a Cairn Terrier, but there is also speculation of him being a Yorkshire Terrier.
What is the name and gender of the dog who portrayed him the film? Terry, whom was female. However, after the movie and it's success, Terry's name was officially changed to Toto.

What kind of tack do you imagine her in? Endurance tack
Discipline: Endurance riding. I can imagine this being her discipline because it's out in nature, yet still competitive.
Trivia
1. What color were Dorothy's "ruby red slippers" originally? The famous ruby red slippers, actually started out as silver slippers. Those who were involved in the 1939 film version of the Wizard of Oz changed the silver slippers to ruby red slippers, for they thought the silver looked washed out, in contrast to all the riotous colors of their Technicolor production.
2. What was used to make the "horses of a different color" change colors in the film? What was humorous about this? There was actually 4 horses used to create the effect of only one horse changing color. Filmmakers found that multiple color changes on a single horse was to time consuming. The ASPCA would not allow the horses to be dyed. Instead, the technicians tinted the horses with lemon, cherry, and grape gelatin, to create a spectrum of colors, white, yellow, red, and purple. It was humorous because they had to keep the horses from licking the powder off!
3. Name a frequently misquoted line from the Wizard of Oz: Many people say "Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore." Or "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto." Or even "We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto." However, the actual line is "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."
Who is my sister's least favorite Wizard of Oz character (Extra Bonus if you guess why!) The scarecrow? Because it was never told how he was given life, unlike the tin man who was one a real man. He was also talking and understanding things (and living) even though he didn't have a brain? [Bonus Question!]
Extra(s):
Name: Toto
Gender: Male
What is Toto's breed? Even though many people say Toto was a Yorkie, he was actually a Cairn Terrier.
What is the name and gender of the dog who portrayed him the film? Toto's real life name is Terry. Even though in the movie Toto is a male, Terry is actually a female.
What does Glinda mistakenly call Toto in "Wicked"? Glinda calls him Dodo.
