Have you ever had that feeling, 'I'v done this before'. But not just a simple 'oh yeah, haha'. No. A creepy, eery, distant feeling that taunts you in the back of your mind. I know this feeling. I am this feeling. I live this feeling. I know. I understand. This is the
story of me. My before, present, and after.
Marco stepped out of his den. Being 18 months old, he was new to this world. A paw in present. A wonderful sunny day had spread above, and he was sunning himself on a flat rock outside his den. Felling very hot, he began to wander to look for something to cool him down.
As he padded, a wide cave spread before his eyes. A dark cave, with a cool breeze flowing from it soon attracted the brightly colored plumierian. As he stepped inside the cave, he felt a strange tingle in his spine. He payed it no attention, did not even recognize it. It was just the change in temperature for him.
The cave looked normal on the outside, and it was almost over populated with vines and undergrowth, but on the inside, it was a whole new story. The walls were bleeding, and they bled into beautiful shapes. One of the bleedings showed a dead animal's body laying on its side, bleeding out of a wound. Above this animal, a beautiful creature, an owl most likely, had sprung from its body and began to fly.
As he crawled deeper into the cave, more drawings spread out in front of him. Beautiful ones like wolves howling at the moon, and eery ones, like a battle of beasts. There where forests, animals, beasts, battles, birds, trees, and things he did not even understand.
Marco kept seeing a pattern above some of the animals heads. For example above an owls head, he saw a marking just like the one under his right eye. he also saw this marking above a pike, and above a baby plumerian. He felt connected to all of these drawings, the ones with the eye marking most of all.
Something grabbed his scruff. Marco let out a high pitched shriek and spun around. Nothing. He sniffed around, and found one thing. Nothing. He was probably imagining things now.
Just in front of him he now saw a image of a owl gliding above a forest. Above the owl lay the same marking that was found on his face. Suddenly he had a burst of curiosity and shoved his noes onto the painting.
Light shined everywhere, and he was aware of nothing around him. Until he saw a forest below. He looked down, his eyes squinting as he tried to see smaller figures. He again got a news flash. He had wings. Beautiful flowing wings that spread out from about his shoulder blades. How did he know where the wings where? He had turned his head completely around. He flied around a bit more, and began to realize he was the owl in the painting.
Marco the plumerian closed his eyes. Too much. Very surprising. He tensed up, and padded deeper into the cave. As he walked he came to a dead end. Or so he thought, there was a small passage behind a huge rock wall, but he was drawn tot he wall. And the panting. Putting his nose to it, he was fast forwarded.
Bubbled plunged around him as he sank like a rock to the bottom of the ocean. A flipper sprouted near his leg, and he soon became a dolphin. Flapping his tail he swam faster than he had ever swam before. Flipping and spinning around, he was having a blast. Nothing could stop him. He whizzed by a school of fish, and then flashed back as fast as he had come.
A day later Marco came out from the cave, and went back to his den. He felt strange.
