Skye shows affection to those she knows, whether it be just
friends, or a love interest. Around crushes, she blushes a little,
and finds it hard to maintain eye contact. It's unusual she's sad,
but she tries her best to hide it when she is. She's pretty good
at that. Similar to being affectionate, she's also very caring,
looking after possessions and always willing to help out some-
one in trouble. She's protective of the ones she cares for, rather
like a sheepdog with sheep. When she has set her mind to do
something, she will do it. It has caused her to get into
trouble, though.

"Skye! Dinner's ready!" The sound of feet thumping down a wooden staircase could be heard as said plumie headed downstairs, to the kitchen. "Can I take it upstairs, mom? I'm working on something." Skye asked, taking the plate and starting to walk towards the door of the kitchen. But she was stopped with a gentle hand to her shoulder. "No. You can sit downstairs with me. Your project will still be there when you've finished." Her mother smiled, and guided her to the living room. "But I want to finish it! Please, mom?" The young plumie argued. She was only 8 years old, and quite small for her age. Her mother sighed, and nodded, knowing she wouldn't listen. They could talk later. Skye grinned and raced up the stairs, balancing the plate in her hands.
"Yes!" Skye exclaimed. She had been working on a paper doll of her mom; Finding the instructions online, she just had to make one. Taking it gently in her hands, making sure none of it was crumpled, she was about to go take it downstairs to give to her mom, when she heard a thump and a cut off scream, that sounded an awful like... "...Mom?" She whispered almost inaudibly, and stood frozen on the staircase, the paper doll forgotten in her hands. The sound of things clattering downstairs broke her out of her trance, and she hurried to her bedroom as quickly as she could, dropping the doll. A passageway with a door that you could lock had been built into her room, and it led to a much smaller room that could be used as a hangout or den. Skye used it as the latter, and had decked it out with pillows, fairy lights and even a stash of cereal she kept fresh. Her heart pounding in her chest, she rushed in and locked the door behind her, crawling through the tunnel and into the room. On the opposite side, there was a slide tunnel that led to the ground outside, if needed. She just hoped the mysterious thing in her home couldn't reach her here.
The den was her home for three days. Skye lived off of her cereal, and a bottle of water she hadn't known was there, and slept in the pile of pillows. She was determined to stay there, too scared of what lay out there. When she heard a loud bang coming from the door to her bedroom, she jumped up and hid in the pile. A "Hello?" could be heard from the door, and she stayed where she was. She could hear the person crawling through the tunnel now, the gentle thud of hands and knees hitting the tunnel walls reaching her ears. They stopped, and Skye heard quiet breathing. "Is anyone here?" Peeking out from her hiding spot, she spotted a man in a uniform she only recognized from the TV. A police man? He must be safe.Slowly emerging from the spot, shaking, Skye looked up at the man with wide eyes, and the man looked at her, surprised there was a child here. Taking a small step forward and kneeling down, he said gently, "Are you okay? Come here, it's alright." Giving up any resistance she might have had, she rushed into his arms. Patting her head, he gently led her through the tunnel, and into her bedroom. "A child was found in a small room from what I presume is her bedroom. Seems about eight or nine years of age, short black hair, most likely the victim's daughter." Skye watched this strange man talk into a device he retrieved from his belt... a walkie talkie? Victim?? Her eyes widened at the words. "Where's my mom?? Take me to her!" She said loudly, panicking. The man tried to calm her, to no avail. She ran past him, her speed no match for him, and she rushed down the wooden staircase, to be met by more unknown people, and lots of cars outside. Nearby, there was an ambulance, with a man and a woman pushing a trolley of some sort into the back. Before she could move, hands restrained her, and held her in their arms. She struggled, but she was just lifted into the air, and held to the new person's chest. From next to her, a murmured, "Poor thing..." could be heard, but she hardly acknowledged it. Something had happened to her mom, and she only wanted her. "Mom..." She murmured, before blacking out.

Skye was taken to live with her aunt and uncle, who had been informed of the assault. When Skye woke up, it was in the back seat of a car, a few bags on either side of her. Remembering the events from before, she shot up in her seat and gasped. Her uncle, who was known by Eric, pulled over quickly and stopped the car, and her aunt, known as Ali, unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car, opening the door to the back. "Where are you taking me??" She cried, flailing her arms as her aunt tried to calm her. "Shhhh, everything will be okay." She patted her head gently and Skye calmed down slowly, reduced to small sniffles. "You're coming to live with us for a bit, won't that be fun? It'll be like a vacation, and you can play with Viveka and Daijebou. They live nearby from your new home." She briefly wondered who Viveka and... Daigebow? Who they were. "When can I see mom...?" Ali was struggling for words, and Eric stepped in, evading the question a little. "She's on a little vacation, too. She wanted you to get out a bit more and meet us, and she went to see some... friends." Skye wasn't satisfied with the answer, but didn't continue with her questions. I hope it won't be long...
The journey took an hour after she awoke that time, and when they arrived in the town, she frowned. It wasn't exactly a cozy countryside place like her old home. It was more urban, and considerably noisier. She hoped there would at least be a field near where she was going to be staying.
... but alas, there wasn't. The house was somewhat large, and only had a few potted plants on the front. The back garden was small, compared to her old one. Despite the disappointing features of the house, she rather liked her bedroom. She chose to stay in the attic, where it was fairly roomy, and she could be fairly undisturbed. There was a glass door/window, which even opened onto a sort of mini balcony! She liked the sound of being able to throw paper planes from up here. I can see for miles up here! Looking out of the window, she spotted a park in the distance. Spotting two kids kicking a ball around, she wondered if she'd make any new friends. Her old friends were left behind.
Once she had settled in, Skye was allowed to go play. She took a bag and some paper with her, for paper plane making. Briefly she hoped there was a pond there, so she could make paper boats. She hadn't seen one from her house, so she guessed not. Once she arrived, she headed straight for a swing, not wanting to go straight up to a random stranger. The park had quite a few children her age or close to it, they probably had friends already. Before she could reach the swings, however, someone got there before her, not acknowledging her. It was a girl, taller than her and with short, reddish-pink hair. She raised an eyebrow at this. Hearing footsteps to her right, she spotted a boy with orange-red hair walking up to her. He spotted Skye, and waved.
"Hey, I've not seen you before! Are you new?" The pink haired girl looked at the boy, then to Skye, noticing her.
"Who're you?" The girl asked, frowning.
"Uh... Hi, I'm Skye. I was just about to go on the swings, but..." She trailed off, looking at the girl. Said girl frowned deeper, before smiling.
"I'm Viveka, and we got here first. So-"
"You can have my swing. I don't really want to go on them anyway. I'm Daijebou." He smiled, moving towards Viveka's side.
"Oh, thanks!" Skye exclaimed, not noticing the quick glare Viveka sent her, and sat on the seat of the swing. So these people must be who aunt Ali mentioned... I don't think Viveka likes me.
"So, what brings you here? We've not seen you before, have we, Viveka? Oh, are you going to be going to our school? We can show her around!" Daijebou smiled, looking from Skye to Viveka.
"Yeah, that'd be a great idea." Viveka said, rolling her eyes, but Daijebou just grinned.
Skye looked between the two. Daijebou seemed nice, but Viveka... "I'm here on holiday. That's what my aunt and uncle told me!" She smiled, kicking her feet out to push herself further. "I don't know how long we'll be staying, but I'd love to be shown around!" Are these my new friends?
