Introducing Cressida ;
Cressida, undoubtedly, is a plumerian that orients herself around romance. She's quite an interesting plumerian, ambitiously getting to her goals in life and completing them efficiently. This plumerian has a taste for the more lighthearted things in life - she takes life as a game and will do anything to win, leaving others in the dust. This is Cressida's largest fault, which she seems to often counteract with various walls she puts up in front of others in order to protect herself from getting hurt. This leaves her without any proper relations to anyone - once she feels the need that she does not need them anymore, she can easily slip away from them without any afterthought.

Cressida wrote:My opinion on my name? I can't say I've never thought of it before, but in all honesty, I actually don't mind it. I don't really think anyone else should have an opinion on your name except for you yourself. I mean, as long as it's a fairly decent name there's nothing to complain about, right? Assuming no one really thinks about other plumerians' names, that is. There's always going to be flaws within you that make you what you are today. So obviously, I don't mind it, and you shouldn't either.

dreams and ambitions ;
Due to Cressida being such an imaginative, curious - and not to mention, ambitious - plumerian, she has quite a lot of ambitions and dreams. A lot of them are long-term, a lot of them short-term, so it's hard to say what kind of dreams she specifically has - just a mix of both. However, Cressida's biggest dream is to become a professional scuba diver.

It may seem odd, for such a plumerian to want to become a scuba diver. However, looking deeper into Cressida's personality, she is in fact a very curious plumerian which loves to explore: it's in her blood, practically. Cressida, ever since she was young, had been fascinated with wreckage boats and of the like for various reasons. Some might think they're spooky, or a waste of time and equipment, however Cressida's biggest dream would to be able to experience such a thing by diving into an old wreckage. Since she was young she would constantly read up on them and dream of going there, however her parents thought it was similar to a 'phase' and let it slide.

Little did they know Cressida would be still fascinated by these. However, the only thing that's stopping her is her fear of drowning and the pressure from underwater. Knowing that the equipment is relatively safe to use if used correctly, Cressida still feels nervous while thinking about it. Thus, Cressida had came up with new dreams and ambitions for her to continue whilst deciding on that one.

For one, Cressida would love to be able to become either a lifeguard or a swimming lesson teacher, preferably the second choice out of any. Giving her knowledge on the sea would be more than she could ask for in life, and getting paid for it? She's sold on the job! For now, however, she settles for a job at a nearby diner as a waitress. As mentioned in her history section, which you'll get to soon, Cressida previously had a knack for cooking - but she soon dropped it after getting burnt - so having the opportunity to be around others who cook is something she enjoys.

Other than that, Cressida would really like to have a good set of friends that she can rely on. She can worry about romance later, however Cressida wants nothing more than other plumerians to rely on and step up if she ever needs it.

personality ;
[ curious - appreciative - unattached - intelligent - loyal - pressured - insecure ]

There are many ways to describe Cressida. It honestly depends what type of person you are to see different sides of Cressida, so various people see different things in her. However, she can be most indefinitely described as complex. Cressida, at first sight, is described as arrogant, impulsive, and ambitious, but upon a closer examination, she is nearly the opposite. Despite what you may think, Cressida is someone who constantly claims dishonest things. Dishonesty can be generally considered her largest fault in all, which makes it hard to be truthful with herself. She constantly doubts herself in many ways, whether it be what she can or cannot do, or how good she can do certain things. Overall, Cressida is a very judging person towards her own behaviour and is constantly beating herself up for it. For Cressida, knowing that she embarrassed herself during something is more than enough for her to think it over for quite a few days. She thinks embarrassing herself is the worst possible thing that could happen while socializing with others -- which is why she's so cautious when talking to others, reviewing every single action of hers before she actually executes it.

Unlike many plumerians, Cressida believes she has a lot to hide to refrain from being embarrassed. She often puts up walls separating others from her, including a protective personality to go with it. She tries to pretend like she's much more arrogant than she is, dwelling in romance and affection and socializing like she has only one day of her life left. This may seem odd for such a plumerian, but the fact that Cressida dwells on such insecurities makes her behave like she doesn't think she has any.

However, what lies underneath her protective fronts? Many things. For one, Cressida is quite the loyal plumerian. Despite her impulsive behaviour, she actually is quite the protective and loyal friend to others. Unlike with herself how she often chooses to do what she thinks others would like, with friends, she does what is right. Her social nature, despite how it looks, is something she is quite the opposite of. Anyone who just met Cressida would probably say, in the scheme of things, she does not appreciate things as much as others do, especially the company of others. However, this is not true. Often, Cressida will think constantly about how lucky she is nevertheless to have friendships and her life itself, but never usually mentions it. Overall, however, she can be very valuing and appreciative of even the tiniest of things. One of Cressida's largest traits, however, is being unattached to things. Often she can let go of something with ease - exceptions including her fears and doubts - like people or objects. However, this also leads her to be very emotionless when dealing with relationships. She doesn't dwell in being happy or sad, she's just. . neutral. This can be hard for her to get into actual, real relationships with others, friends or not. Another of Cressida's more larger traits is the fact that's she's quite curious. Curiosity never ends for her - she's constantly wondering about the oddest of things and exploring new places to see. That's one of the reasons why she loves swimming so much. You get to explore the unknown, constantly changing. This also explains one of Cressida's dreams - to become a scuba diver. She absolutely loves old tales about forgotten and sunken ships, and it'd be a dream come true of hers if she could do it professionally. Unfortunately, she has no idea where or how to start.

Cressida often lies to herself and others, which is where her negative traits from. Even herself can't often tell what is real or fake with her, and it often makes her mad at herself. Despite how calm she looks on the outside, Cressida is often at war with herself. It's hectic in her mind, and Cressida is battling whether or not to cave into it.

Continuing to Introduce Cressida ;
However, despite being quite a social plumerian, Cressida dislikes being around plumerians in a casual way. This doesn't mean she prefers to be alone - it actually means she's not the type of plumerian who can be pleased so easily. As mentioned before, life is a game to Cressida; so she strives to achieve various goals she's set for herself by using any means she can accomplish. Thus, she may dislike a regular conversation, but having an interesting one would make her feel more drawn towards socializing with others.
Cressida often finds many things boring and distasteful, and few things which she finds interesting..however, this doesn't place her under a category of extremely hard to please. In fact, it's simple to make her happy; only if you know whatmakes her so happy. These sort of things that please her include befriending her, as an actual friend, nothing more. Cressida is quite lonely, despite the sociable and confident front she puts up..which often leaves her as a very vulnerable plumerian with it. These walls are quite firm for Cressida, even though she doesn't realize it. She excludes herself from any real form of love or friendship, only taking it as a mere game which nobody seems to understand as of why. Although the reasoning is relatively simple, Cressida won't admit it. It's simply because she's afraid of being weak, and broken by others, however you may interpret that.
Overall, Cressida seeks drama and adrenaline in life. As an ambitious plumerian, she strives to complete her goals and dreams despite also hurting others in the process. It's too hard of a habit of Cressida's to break, and unfortunately, she can't back out now.

Carrying two distinctive personalities, Cressida can be sometimes difficult to befriend. She is constantly changing in regards of her mentality and personality, which is the source of most of her insecurities: herself. Because of these insecurities, Cressida insists upon creating multiple walls from keeping herself from getting hurt. Ultimately this holds her back from creating long-term friendships, something that she longs to have.

Overall, Cressida can be considered social, however a lot of the times she'll need to cool down after being around large groups for a long period of time. This can often be considered not as social as you'd imagine, however, it plays a very small role in whether or not Cressida participates with others frequently. Despite feeling slightly pressured to be around others or be claimed as a social outcast, Cressida prefers to be alone sometimes rather than with groups but she's slightly scared to admit it. The biggest issue with Cressida is her honesty with herself - she claims to be quite honest with herself but she's not, as it suggests itself. If she were to let go of her fears and insecurities, she'd be a much better person, but for this plumerian, it's nearly impossible.

Often Cressida will think about things a lot more than others do as she's nervous of embarrassing herself. Even though being a realist, she can sometimes see things go both the right and wrong way, which she's normally more inclined to believe that what she believes might happen. This can cause hesitation with some of her actions, however, when Cressida begins to feel more competitive around others, that changes slightly.

how did she get her accessories?
Cressida, as her love for the sea shows, has a few
accessories to show for it. She claims she's quite curious
as a plumerian - she will often pick up random things
from the sea floor to add to her collections of whatever
she finds. However, unlike that, Cressida had gotten
these stuck to her and kept them for the sake of
memories. As an overall, the netting was in an
accident and the others were unintentionally stuck
to her - however, the story below describes how
Cressida really had gotten these.
physical description ;
Cressida is a fairly average
plumerian size and weight-wise,
so there's nothing quite special
on that part. However, unlike
any other plumerians [of course],
she has her unique markings of her
own and colours of her own. Even
if it's something petty to appreciate,
Cressida appreciates it a lot.
To the left is a list of her attributes.

stories on how she got her accessories -
[ tail netting ]
Cressida loved scouring the ocean for shiny trinkets and shimmering pearls. A part of her life was spent in the ocean, skimming the bottom for anything to call hers. The water was so clear, Cressida could easily see the sandy bottom, and a flash of silvery white caught her eye. A brilliant, glistening pearl rested on the very bottom of the ocean, like a perfect egg in a perfect sandy nest. Making a quick dive down from the surface, Cressida used her strong paws to propel her downwards. She was making nice progress, nearly at the sandy plateau, but suddenly there was something around her, encasing her, and preventing her from moving forward... and backwards... preventing her from moving anywhere! Cressida opened her jaws to scream for help, but mere bubbles escaped, and the salty tang of ocean water filled her mouth and throat, replacing air.

Flailing her paws, and thrashing like a fish out of water, she felt her lungs compressing and realized she couldn't stay under much longer. Cressida felt herself sinking deeper into the net, jerking to a stop suddenly. Looking back, she realized her tail had become entangled in the black net. As she manoeuvred her paws around, her left one became caught up in the net like her tail. As blackness began to creep into the edges of her vision, Cressida realized this was do or die. Anger surging for her at all her life had ahead of her, strength came rushing through her entire body. With a jerk, her paw came undone, except for a ring of net left around it. Grasping the net between her front paws, Cressida pulled her body forward, tearing her tail free and leaving a substantial gap in the netting. Seizing the opportunity, Cressida dragged her body through the water, breaking through into the surface world.

Gasping and dragging her exhausted body onto the shore, she lay limp for a while, before sitting up and examining the pieces of netting stuck to her tail and left paw. Cressida eventually decided to keep the pieces as a reminder of her horrible near-death experience.

[ the starfish in her hair ]
As an average day for Cressida would seem, she was sitting at a dock near her home with a small MP3 player in her grasp. Placing a paw in the water, she swished it around aimlessly and looked up at the sky. The clouds were covering surrounding parts of the town by the looks of it, however, where she had seemed to be standing, the sun was in clear view and with no sight of rain. She looked down at the water for a moment, sitting in thought of the things that came to mind.

A moment later, the plumerian stood up, ready to almost leave. However, as she was about to leave, something had caught her eye. A small, red object had seemed to be floating in the ocean. It glimmered in the sunlight, and appeared to be drifting off further into the deeper part of the ocean. Cressida turned to it, looking at it in curiosity. Subconsciously walking towards it, the plumerian began heading into the water and started swimming towards it. It had seemed to be a red starfish.

Eventually, Cressida had caught up with it, however, she made it into a small game of chasing it around, despite it probably not being able to understand what she was doing. She enjoyed it for awhile, playing with it until dusk.
The next day Cressida had gone to the souvenir shop at the beach she had been to yesterday. She was really there for a birthday present for her friend, however, upon searching the shelves, Cressida had found a good-sized red starfish for a fairly good price. Picking it up gingerly, she stared at in remembrance of the red starfish from earlier. Placing it down in front of the cashier, she ended up buying it and placing it in her hair.
Ever since, she's stuck on various pearls to it she found in the ocean, claiming it to be her good luck charm.

[ the shells, kelp and blue starfish ]
Cressida had been out exploring all day, despite being very tired from yesterday's game of volleyball she had participated in on the beach. She had collected quite a few items, however none which had actually stayed with her. She ended up releasing them back into the ocean for another plumerian to find, not worrying about enlarging her collection this time.
Except for this moment.
The plumerian had seen a very interesting item at the bottom of the sea and she was quite determined to get it. It was a single, ordinary shell, however it was quite shiny and simply perfect in Cressida's view and she just had to have it. It wasn't fairly large, and while quite hard for the girl to see, Cressida immediately spotted it on the sandy floor and was determined to get the seemingly simple shell as a keepsake for this unique spot she had found for swimming.
Unfortunately for her, it was hidden under a few medium-sized rocks encased in kelp and other materials including a small, blue starfish. Reaching into the small cavern formed by the rocks to reach for the shell, Cressida pulled her paw out to discover her netting on her paw had been encased in both kelp, the starfish, another shell and the shell she had originally wanted itself. Too scared to remove it in fear of breaking the shell, she's kept it ever since.

Meeting Cressida ;
"Hi there! I'm Cressida. I don't suppose you know quite a lot about me, so I guess I'm here to tell you that. It's not that interesting, I'll admit. However, if you plan on getting to know me - sit through and endure it. Born on October 12th, 1994, as a Libra, I was the only child out of my family but didn't mind. I didn't have the most exciting childhood, but I did get to know myself a lot better than I would've thought beforehand.

My interests, hmm? I've never really thought about it before much. I do what I want to do when I want to; you can't pin-point what I like since it changes so frequently. However, I've always had a liking for music and swimming. That's never changed in my life at all. Swimming is something for me that I simply love as an indescribable relationship. It loves me as much as I love it, and it's been a crutch for me throughout my life. Similar to me, it understands something not many people do: internal peace. It's calm, collected waves never rest, constantly in motion. It leaves me alone, but not the feeling of loneliness. Music, however, does the opposite. It balances my tastes for two very different things so it forms equality. Even if the music I listen to isn't outrageously pop, it simulates the feeling of happiness inside of me and nothing else can do that.

It's quite funny. I've never exactly liked swimming itself. It seemed tiring and far too much effort and injuries. As you can see, I'm a plumerian who prefers the easy way out of things rather than the hard way, but never-mind that. I began swimming at a young age, deciding to go out and try it for myself. It was something simply amazing and I couldn't bear to leave the water when it was time to go. Due to my competitive nature, many often think I may swim competitively, but rushing the thought of something as delicate as that is a waste.

People often ask me my relations to others, but I find that difficult to answer. Friendships and relationships are a complicated thing for me, despite having a fair share of experience with them. I can't seem to find the borderline between love and friendship and that constantly messes up the relationships I have.

As mentioned previously, I was born into a family as an only child. I grew up to be incredibly social as a child, but then I slowly brought myself to a closer group of friends, many hobbies, and overall, grew to be a lot less social. I didn't mind, honestly. I made a big deal of it - about not having many friends, but I actually liked it. I messed that part up in my life and I wish I could have it back."

[she hasn't seen many]
history ;
Nineteen years ago, Cressida was born to her mother and father on a very bright morning. The city was just waking up, however, her parents were not. They stayed up the whole night, awaiting the arrival of what would be Cressida today. It was hectic at first, having some issues with Cressida at first. However, as soon as it was cleared up she was sent home as a healthy baby.

During her childhood, Cressida was much more of an indoors person. She liked doing little hobbies and crafts with her parents, and eventually before becoming a teenager, she had gotten into cooking. Unfortunately, that was short lived after she burnt herself, and never had she cooked for fun again. As she grew older her mother began telling her to enter summer camps to socialize and to see if Cressida would gain any new hobbies, in which she did. Beginning swimming camp, Cressida had hated it from the very beginning. She didn't like how the chlorine in the pool made her hair feel, and all the people around her splashing was quite difficult and overwhelming for the young plumerian. Eventually she dropped out of it, however unlike leaving the dream to rest, she continued it by herself. Most of her evenings after school were spent by the nearby beach. She was quite determined as she is today to learn how to swim, however, this is where her priorities had changed. Originally, the plumerian had wanted to become a professional swimmer, despite all odds. It was a dream she had not thought of quite as much as she had wanted, which led to an impulsive decision and not a great one for Cressida. Later she had learnt this decision was too impulsive of a decision, and trashed it for a new one. She had not wanted to become a mere professional swimmer - but why not a scuba diver or a swimming teacher or lifeguard herself? Eventually she had aimed for this goal, and she's close to succeeding it.

Overall, her highschool years were slightly better. She had gotten into acting and preforming, as well as singing and playing instruments. That's mainly what she had liked throughout her years. Cressida passed highschool in no time, and she met a lot of nice plumerians on the way. However, we're going too far into her history. Let's go back a little, shall we?

As a young plumerian, Cressida would often be quite naive. She could easily be manipulated, so to speak, and often others would take that as an advantage for Cressida. Eventually she had learnt that others were using her, and she became more intelligent and independent. However, instead of becoming more social, this made her even less.

But that's enough of a summary. Let's begin a few noticeable memories in the form of stories, each from Cressida's lifetime.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Childhood
Cressida's mother placed a blanket down, smoothing it out on the grass and placing Cressida on it. At this age, Cressida was quite small and could be easily picked up. She couldn't talk quite yet, but she's had her fair share of mumbling various phrases and oddities. Upon being set down, Cressida let out a small chuckle, skimming her paws against the soft blanket's surface with a smile. Her mother handed her a small circular rattle and another small bin of toys, which then shortly after she sat on the porch before Cressida to leave her to play.

Cressida, however, was uninterested in this despite admiring and appreciating the gesture of her mother. She looked around, setting the rattle down on the lavender cloth gently. She looked down upon the grass, staring at the green material and reaching out to grab it, however it slipped right through her paws and Cressida had only managed to grab a small portion of what she had originally tried to pull out. Concentrating on the ground, she noticed a small ladybug. To her, it was seemingly a moving red dot with black spots on it, however, as soon as she learnt it could fly, Cressida was much more interested in the creature. She looked at it with her large, blue, lively eyes, however, upon looking at it, it flew away in fright.

This upset Cressida, to the very least, but she quickly moved on to different things. She glanced up at the sky, raising her paws and clenching the air. The blue in the sky was so pretty to the young plumerian - it seemed to make her smile by just looking at it as it fondly reminded her of her own blues on her fur. Grasping and grasping at it, the young plumerian attempted to try and touch the sky - literally. Realizing she couldn't, Cressida laid on her back, staring up at it.

So far, yet so close
Just at your fingertips, yet miles away
An illusion you can't touch;
Is it real, or is it fake?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adolescent
Cressida sat on a stone step, holding a small old mystery novel in her hands. She wasn't really reading it, occasionally glancing at a page and turning it subconsciously. She's already read this book countless times, why read it again?

Setting the old book down, Cressida fixed her gaze upon what was in front of her - the nearby ocean in the distance, the trees, the leaves blowing in the wind. Nature was in it's state of beauty, and it was right in front of Cressida. However, she noticed something odd - something large was moving in the backround.

"What could that be?" She murmured, about to begin walking towards it. Setting her book down she walked slowly over to it, however, it had seemed to disappear. Looking around, confused, Cressida decided to go back to sitting down, and on her way back, heard a small voice, seeming to ask - "What're you doing?"

Cressida was shocked by this, and looked towards the direction of the voice. A dark plumerian was standing there, and she appeared to be covered in white markings similar to stars.

"Want to be friends?" She asked, which confused Cressida. No one had ever asked if they wanted to be her friend deliberately.

"Umm, sure..? I don't see why not.." Cressida murmured.

"Great!" the plumerian said happily, eyes filled with happiness. "I'm Cynthia."

Friendship is like the sea -
it sways, uncertain of itself.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Questionnaire
You'll see at the bottom of the form that Cressida has another questionnaire - that one is different questions [with a total of 110 questions, 160 questions if you include these ones], so please make sure to read both of them!

1. Do you, or did you, have any role models?
No, not really. I admired a few others, but I never really had the guts to talk to them up close.

2. Do you have any heroes or idols, either contemporary or from legend?
Like I said above, not really, except for the ones I kind of have forgotten about.

3. If so, have you ever met them?
Yeah, I knew most of them personally.

4. Did you ever become disillusioned with former heroes or idols? If so, why and what were the circumstances?
Well, perhaps. Our illusion of 'good' and 'evil' can never be certain, so most likely.

5. When did you decide to become an adventurer?
I don't think that's decided by you, it's decided subconsciously.

6. Why have you chosen to risk your life as a career?
I often try to look past that, since drowning is one of my biggest fears, but swimming is also my greatest passions. I take passion over fear.

7. What do you expect to get out of being an adventurer (satisfaction, glory, money, redemption, etc.)? What, if anything, would make them stop adventuring?
Nothing related to fame, but just the sense of satisfaction.

8. Do you have any dreams or ambitions?
Yes, many.

9. If not, why?
If I didn't, it'd probably be because I already achieved it.

10. How does adventuring fit into this dream, or does it at all?
It's practically revolves around it.

11. What are your short term goals (what would you like to be doing within a year)?
Probably to get a better job and find out who I really am, metaphorically. I hope I can get into scuba diving, if not a long-term goal.

12. What are your long term goals (what would you like to be doing twenty years from now)?
Mentioned above - scuba diving. I'd also really like to create some relationships between my friends.

13. If these goals seem at odds with each other or with your dreams, how do you reconcile the differences?
I chose which is more dominant within me: my passions, or my fears.

14. How do you seek to fulfill these dreams, goals, & ambitions?
By being as confident as I could possibly be so I can complete them with it.

15. Do you have any great rational or irrational fears or phobias? If so, what are the origins of or reasons behind them?
Well, I don't have any..'irrational' fears, you'd say. However, my largest phobia aquaphobia, the fear of drowning. The origins behind it? The time I almost drowned -- I've been scarred ever since.

16. What, if anything, would it take for you to be able to overcome this?
Nothing at all. I'm not that kind of person, unfortunately.

17. How do you react when this fear manifests itself?
I'd probably be not surprised, but I definitely think my fears are rational.

18. Are you willing to discuss, or even admit to, the situation?
Sort of; I don't particularly like discussing it, however.

19. What are your attitudes regarding material wealth?
I think it's okay, but not in the sense of you're constantly preferring it over non-materialistic wealth.

20. Are you miserly with your share of the wealth, or do you spend it freely?
I'm generally in the middle.

21. Are you greedy or generous?
I can't say I'm either one, so again, a sort of mix.

22. Do you see wealth as a mark of success, or just as a means to an end?
A little bit of both? Wealth can be from things other than success, even the opposite.

23. How do you generally treat others?
Depends how they treat me.

24. Do you trust easily (perhaps too easily) or not?
No, not at all. I have trust issues, actually.

25. Are you introverted (shy and withdrawn) or extroverted (outgoing)?
I'm definitely on the extroverted side, but I love to be by myself too.

26. Are you a humble soul or blisteringly proud?
I think I'm pretty humble on the inside, but I try to make myself as arrogant and proud as I can be.

27. Do you act differently than you feel (concealing your true thoughts)?
Yes, actually, quite often, unfortunately.

28. What habits would you find most annoying in friends?
Anything that I consider a pet peeve. But hey, they are the way they are, you can't change them.

29. How do others typically react to you?
I don't know, you'd have to ask them.

30. Why, in your opinion, do they act that way?
Probably because of my attitude towards people I just meet.

31. What are your most annoying habits?
I tend to bite my lip and whistle subconsciously to the beat of songs.

32. What is your favourite food?
Strawberries, definitely.

33. What is your favourite drink?
Raspberry tea, for sure!

34. What is your favourite treat (dessert)?
I really love angel food cake topped with candied strawberries and whip cream.

35. Do you favour a particular cuisine?
No, not really! I'm open to lots of different types of food.

36. Do you savor the tastes when eating or “wolf down” your food?
Well, depends on what I'm eating and how hungry I am, haha!

37. Do you like food mild or heavily spiced?
I prefer mild.

38. Are there any specific foodstuffs that you find disgusting or refuse to eat?
I don't really like mushrooms, tofu, or greasy things.

39. Are you allergic to any food?
Not that I know of, no.

40. What are your favourite colour(s)?
I love pea green, red, and light purple.

41. Is there any colour that you dislike?
Yellow.

42. Do you have a favourite (or hated) song, type of music, or instrument?
My favorite song would probably be Numb by Marina & the diamonds, I don't care for what type of music it is, and my favorite instrument being the flute.

43. If you have a favourite scent, what is it?
I love the smell of vanilla.

44. What is your favourite type of animal?
Red pandas! They're so adorable.

45. Do you have an animal totem or affinity, and if so for what?
Nope.

46. Is there a certain type of animal that you hate or fear?
Er, I don't really like spiders, but that's nothing new.

47. Are you allergic to any kinds of animals?
Not that I know of!

48. Do you have any allergies?
Again, not that I know of.

49. Have you owned any pets?
Yes, I have! I currently own a few different types of fish, too.

50. How many friends do you have?
Well, I know quite a few plumerians are my friends. It's just whether or not they consider me to be their friend.

why I want Cressida ;
As you can see, Cressida has been something I've been working on quite hard for the past days. Never have I stopped working on her form, creating art, or reading my form over countless times to make sure it's simply perfect. I've done nothing but work on it these past days and I feel it's paid off a lot. Over these days of developing Cressida's character I had fallen in love with her, head to toe, and she's just a character I can imagine myself loving and having. I absolutely love plumerians - they're so incredibly fun to draw and I consider Cressida to be one of the most prettiest plumerians I've seen.

However, even if she's quite pretty, that's not the entire reason I tried for her. Cressida to me describes a small part of me, in the terms of her embarrassments and insecurities. I thought for hours over her personality - literally - and I think the final result was well paid-off. She relates to me in a lot of ways and she definitely has one of the best personalities I've ever thought of. Between her design and perspective of things, she really is a unique character to me that I would really enjoy having. Her personal relation to me is quite large - being themed after a mermaid - and as well as her personality.

My favorite parts about her design? Definitely the little freckles/spots on her face and legs, as well as the overlay white on her behind legs and tail. When I was younger, we used to live by the beach. Beaches would be everywhere - beaches with actual shells, rocks and kelp and saltwater. I loved it. Unfortunately due to economic problems with my parents, we had to move from that -- and now where I live it's not even considered to have any real beaches. Cressida reminds me of that, and all she brings is sweet memories of the past. Her freckles remind me fondly of the different colour variations in the sand, and how different each single grain of sand looks different if you look at it individually, not as a whole. The overlay white on her tail reminds me of the seafoam on the beach, or perhaps even the waves. Overall, her design is something I love.

Another reason why I like her so much is the fact that her accessories give me so many ideas for Cressida's background. They're quite unique accessories - not ones you see everyday - and immediately I thought of hundreds of ways she could've received them.
I don't only want Cressida because of her design and character. Cressida is a character who I imagine being quite close to my other plumerians if I ever get more in the future. Her relationship to them would be unique and different -- and I've already planned it out.
Other than that, her hair is absolutely gorgeous. It reminds me of my own - the similar color and how curly it is - and it's so incredibly fun to draw blowing in the wind. Her beautiful hazel eyes are simply gorgeous, and the eyelashes? She's so incredibly beautiful. <3

If I were to win her, I'd freak out. Cressida as a character is something I can easily picture myself having in terms of how she'd fit with my already existing plumerian, Cynthia, and how well she fits in with me and reminds me of myself. I'd immediately go on the fanclub and introduce her to everyone, as I already did with Cynthia, and as an active user within plumerians there'd be no doubt I would take such good care of her. I'd make and order lots of art like I already have, and take my time out of my day to write countless stories and adventures with her and Cynthia. I would continue to develop her character as much as possible, and create both a website and thread for her and Cynthia. I'd work so hard to make her have the best home possible, and that's that. Ever since the beginning of the competition I've been working on my form nonstop, up to late nights and early mornings, of constant writing, drawing, art ordering, and self-evaluation critique. I haven't taken a break from it yet, and this was the first form in a very long time I actually enjoyed to the fullest doing.

These last few days I've barely gotten any sleep whatsoever - up to late nights and mornings [up to 6:00 in the morning, haha], constantly working on my form. It was fortunate I was able to complete it in time since I had so many ideas for this, but I'm really proud with the result of it. <3

Overall, completing this form has been a huge milestone for me. I haven't put this much effort in a form for years, only because I haven't had the exact inspiration for it: but fortunately, Cressida was this inspiration for me. As I mentioned before I haven't stopped working on this form since I first found her, and it's been a dream come true to find something as amazingly perfect as she is. qvq' My largest inspiration for this form was definitely music. Cressida is a large fan of music not just for the appeal of it, but rather the motivation that comes with it, similarly to me. I listened to it constantly whilst writing her form up, and I think it heavily influenced on what I was writing and gave me much more motivation.

Cressida is the one plumerian in a long time I've seen who I actually connect to. If I were to win her, I'd be simply ecstatic. Cressida is something I worked quite hard for, and I hope it paid off. If I were to win Cressida, I'd freak out endlessly and it'd make my entire month. Knowing how much effort I put into her, it's a dream and a honor to be able to own such a beautiful plumerian. . and I hope this work paid off. Good luck to everyone!

Also, to my friends -- thank you all for the moral and mental support I've had throughout this competition, it means a lot to me! <3

basics

name: Teles
Teles was named after a siren from Greek mythology, due to her parents' love of the sea and the ocean which she grew up near. They thought that she looked like a mermaid without a fish tail, and giving their daughter the name of a siren seemed fitting because they are essentially the same. The number of sirens in the mythology is debatable, but of all the names proposed as the sirens', they found that Teles was the most beautiful, and a fitting name for their only daughter.

      nickname(s):

      Telly Belly
When Teles was a child, she had a phase where she was absolutely obsessed with Jelly Belly jelly beans. Her parents started calling her 'Telly Belly' after her favorite treat, and the nickname stuck.
      Tel
Used as a nickname by some of her friends, Tel is just a simplification of an already simple name. It is used somewhat rarely, but Teles herself thinks it's cute.
gender: Female
And a very feminine female at that. She's not so much into makeup or fashion, but adores all kinds of jewellery and obsesses over her dirty blond waves.
age: 18 years old young

birthday: June 23rd
It seems fitting that Teles was born in the heart of summer, a season that she feels a great attachment to. It might just be her love for the beach and her sand-colored fur, but Teles has always claimed that it was fate.

With my face above the water
My feet can't touch the ground,
Touch the ground, and it feels like
I can see the sands on the horizon
Every time you are not around
I'm slowly drifting (drifting away)
Wave after wave, wave after wave

personality

Teles is, in one word, bubbly. She is always animated and lively, with an extra bounce in her step. She's also a bit of a chatterbox, but not in an annoying way (in most Plumie's opinions, anyways). She likes mindless chatter and harmless gossip, and though she won't talk your ears off, she could keep a conversation about nothing going for hours. She doesn't always understand sarcasm, and isn't much of a joker herself, but she doesn't take offence easily, so any sarcastic comments are quickly brushed away. In fact, Teles doesn't pay much attention to any kind of mean comment unless it is directed at one of her friends or a more sensitive Plumerian, in which case she snaps on whoever's delivered the remark. Teles feels partially responsible for making the world a better place, and sticking up for those who, in her opinion, could use a little backup is just a part of that. But as far as she's concerned, anyone who picks on her is simply not worth her time and not worth being upset over.

Teles is that one girl that everyone goes to when they need to talk, or confess, or cry, because she is always on your side, even when you look back months later and realize that you were being totally ridiculous. Though Teles is usually bright and bubbly, she is beyond loyal to her many friends and would go to any lengths for them. And she has plenty of them, due to her social nature. Though some find her a bit much, most are drawn to her sparkling eyes and genuine enthusiasm. She has no true enemies, just a few individuals who generally avoid encountering her. But her true friends are the thing that she values the most, and she depends on them heavily. She'd be lost without the friends she has made over the years.

Teles isn't necessarily energetic, however she is extremely vivacious. She almost always has a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes. That's not to say that she never gets upset, which she does as often as anyone else, but she smiles twice as much and laughs twice as hard as any other Plumerian. She's just... happy. And she's not intimidated by others just because they're older or bigger or smarter than her. Though it sometimes leads her into difficult situations, she will always stand up and speak out when there's a misunderstanding or if a problem is not being viewed fairly and equally. Life's not fair, but that doesn't mean that Teles can't make it fair... right? While Teles is for the most part a follower, not a leader, she knows when to step in and take charge.

Her obsession with making the world a better place makes her a better person, too. She picks up litter that she comes across on the beach and performs random acts of kindness without expecting or receiving any thanks. She's far from perfect, but even if no one remembers her name in a few generations, she knows that somehow she will leave her mark on the world. And she is satisfied with this.

Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun,
and I say, It's all right

Little darling
It's been a long, cold lonely winter
Little darling
It feels like years since it's been here

least favorites

✘food: Hamburgers

Teles, while not a vegetarian, isn't a huge fan of meat.
It's not that she doesn't support killing animals or what-
ever, she just doesn't adore the taste. And for reasons
unknown, she has a strong dislike for hamburgers in
    particular.
✘drink: Coca Cola

Teles actually likes most sodas, but Coke is too sweet and
has a weird flavor, at least according to Teles. She likes
Diet Coke and Coke Zero a little better, and even though
they're probably full of horrible chemicals, they're a little
less sweet and a little more watered down.
✘candy: Jawbreakers

The one time that Teles tried a jawbreaker, she literally felt
as though she was going to break her jaw. They make a
horrible noise when they bang off of your teeth, and they're
horrifically sweet. She hates them in every way possible.
✘flavor: Cinnamon

She doesn't actually find it that bad, but would consider it
her least favorite flavor nonetheless. She finds it hard to
place what she dislikes about cinnamon. It's just a bit...
    strong.
✘weather: Rainy

Snow? It can be beautiful, and it's fun to play in (until it turns
to mush, anyways). But rain? It's so dreary and bleak. Of
course Teles makes the most of it, but it's hard to not feel
gloomy when the skies are grey.
✘season: Autumn

In winter there's hot chocolate and powdery snow. In spring
the flowers are in bloom, and it's warm. In autumn, however,
there's a pile of leaves to rake. Not Teles's idea of a fun time.
✘time of day: Late Night

Late at night is the time when weird, unexplainable noises
plague your house, and your friends have gone back to their
own homes. It's dark and lonely and just a little bit spooky.
✘game: Tic-Tac-Toe

When it comes to tic-tac-toe, Teles is convinced that she's
cursed. She can't remember the last time she won a game. It
may be a simple game, but Teles never fails to lose. She's not
a bad sport, but she avoids playing it when possible because
her bad luck at the x's and o's can become frustrating.
✘animal: Crabs

She must be very annoying from the average crab's perspec-
tive, because they always chase after her with pinchers
snapping. She doesn't mind their appearance, she just finds
them bothersome... and a bit painful.

favorites

✔ food: Oranges

Oranges, as Teles describes them, are like sunshine captured in a fruit. They're juicy and sweet and perfect, and are Teles's favorite treat.
✔ drink: Coffee

It's quite possibly the only thing that keeps her awake all day long. Tells admits to being a mild caffeine addict, but the boost of rich coffee in the mornings makes the day far more enjoyable. She drinks it black, milky, or slightly sugary- she doesn't mind, as long as there's not too much sugar in it.
✔ candy: Jelly Belly jelly beans

Though she's not as addicted as she was when she was younger, Teles adores Jelly Belly jelly beans; her favorite is strawberry, but she loves daring her friends to eat the less appealing varieties- from ear wax to soap.
✔ flavor: Vanilla

Simple, classic, sweet, what's there not to love about vanilla? There's a little ice cream shack by the beach, and she always gets a simple scoop of vanilla ice cream before heading down to the sand and sea.
✔ weather: Sunny

The sun warm on her back is one of Teles's favorite sensations. It's so great to be warm and bathed in light- who could hate a sunny day?
✔ season: Summer

Of course, Teles adores the summer. It's the ideal season for the beach, her home away from home, and it's full of days with paws half-in the water and friends nearby.
✔ time of day: Mid-day

The time of day when you're wide awake and the sun is at its highest. It's when the world is alive, the beach is packed, and Teles is usually with her friends or sun bathing.
✔ game: Truthies

Truthies is like Truth or Dare, but without the dares. It Teles's opinion, it's much more fun to pry secrets out of your friends than to force them to do gross stuff. And since she has nothing to hide, she has nothing to worry about when playing. Playing Truthies with Teles is bound to be a fun and interesting game.
✔ animal: Seagulls

Beach dwellers, just like herself, Teles has always loved the mischievous seagulls. They'll steal your beach picnic in an instant, which she finds rather amusing (as long as it's not her food they're after), and their calls remind her of the sea.
✔ book: The Tail of Emily Windsnap by Liz Kessler

It's a book for Plumies much younger than her, but it's been her favorite novel since she was seven and first picked it up. It's about a girl who discovers that she's a mermaid. As a young girl, Teles always dreamed that one day she would dive into the water and sprout a tail.

You're picture perfect blue
Sunbathing on the moon
Stars shining as your bones illuminate
First kiss just like a drug
Under your influence
You take me over you're the magic in my veins
This must be love

history

Teles was born into a happy and loving family in the middle of the summer, 18 years ago. She was the first and only child that her parents would have, and she was the apple of their eye. She wasn't spoiled, and her parents were strict on her manners and attitude, but she knew that they loved her unconditionally and that she was their greatest joy. Even at a young age, Teles showed a rare kind of intelligence- not at math or language, but at interpreting others' feelings. She can sense what another Plumerian is feeling, even if they don't openly express it. This social intelligence led her to be a Plumerian that, even when she was very young, had many friends that she has always depended on.

Teles grew up right next to the beach, in a humble house that was the perfect size for three. The crash of ocean waves was her lullaby, the seagulls' cries her alarm clock, and she spent the majority of her days at the beach. She dreamt of being a mermaid, disappearing into the ocean and swimming with the fish. At the time, she adored swimming. She would splash about for hours on end, pretending that she was a shark or a siren- whatever came to her mind. She had (and has) a great imagination. As she grew older she spent more time on the sand, swimming having lost its appeal when she became to old and too mature to pretend she was a ferocious sea creature. She still dips her paws in, but she wishes for her last memories of swimming to be the ones that she will always treasure, the games and the laughter shared with the ocean.

Teles started making jewellery when she was eight or so. Of course, it was all strictly organic material... and for the most part, from the beach. Seaweed earrings and pearl-and-starfish bracelets were sold for impressive prices at such a young age. To this day, jewellery making is her favorite hobby and craft, and she depends on it for a reasonable income which she lives off of. She also loved reading, and though her nose wasn't constantly in a book, she went through a fair amount of them. Her favorites, of course, were about mermaids.

As Teles entered her pre-teen and early teen years, she went through a phase where, realizing that she wasn't a child anymore, the world lost its wonder to her. She stayed inside during most of her free time, caring less and less about her studies and her friends. She read more, but enjoyed the novels less, and lost many friends because of the recluse she'd become. And most importantly, she stopped going to the beach. The waves and the gulls were now just whispers in her ears, not ringing with joy and amazement as they once did. Her parents became greatly concerned about their daughter, but as they didn't know how to mend her broken spirit, they didn't confront her about it. Then, when they'd had enough of Teles's antisocial behavior, they demanded that she go to the beach. They knew that if she once more felt the sand and salty air against her fur, she would see what she had been missing out on. Though Teles was reluctant, they dragged her out... and their plan worked.

It was a warm morning at the beginning of summer. When Teles put a paw on the baked sand, she almost cried with exhilaration. She had forgotten the lull of the waves, the gentle warmth of the landscape, and the idle days of relaxing away on the beach. But it all came flooding back to her in that moment. While Teles can't remember the first day she stepped onto the beach, she can remember this moment clearly. To this day this is one of her favorite memories, the day that she rediscovered the beach.

Since then Teles has regained her friends' admiration and trust and once again began visiting the beach daily (until the first snow of winter, at least). She doesn't read as much, but does care more about her academics. She keeps herself busy and does what she has to do to get by. She still lives with her parents, but has almost saved up enough to buy a bungalow by the same beach that she grew up on, only minutes away from her parents. She's surrounded by those she loves, and as far as Teles is concerned, life couldn't be any greater.

Give me one good reason
Why I should never make a change
Baby if you hold me
Then all of this will go away

a day in the life

6:00 AM- Wake Up, Make Coffee + Watch the Sunrise
Teles, for as long as she can remember, has woken up to see the sunrise. She's not a morning person by any means, but she loves being awake at the true start of the day, when streaks of pink and orange paint the sky. And having a cup of coffee in hand makes it a thousand times better. These two things- sunrise and coffee- are what makes her smile each morning, and she's always in a better mood after them.

6:15 AM- Get Ready + Walk to the Beach
Getting ready is relatively simple- it basically involves cleaning up and tossing her hair until it falls neatly, then pinning it in place with her starfish accessory. She makes a breakfast to take with her on her walk. After that she skips out of the door and walks the 10 or so minutes to the beach, giving her some time to let the coffee kick in and think. It's a blissfully quiet and peaceful time.

6:30 AM- Beach Scavenging!
Possibly Teles's favorite part of the day, beach scavenging is where Teles scours the beach, on lookout for things that she can make jewellery with. It's incredibly relaxing, as the beach is usually almost empty so early in the morning, and she has the stretch of sand to herself.

7:30 AM- Return Home + Make Jewellery
Teles sits on the floor in her bedroom with the treasures she's found on the beach, along with some jewellery wire and a hot glue gun. Then she gets to work, piecing together the tokens until she's created a piece she's satisfied with. She then hangs it to dry and fuse together. Whatever she doesn't use goes in a tackle box that she stores under her bed.

8:30 AM- Chill Out + Read
Mostly, Teles just sits staring out of her bedroom window at the sea beyond, thinking to herself. But for a couple of minutes she'll pick up a book and flip through the pages, getting absorbed in the story. Just before she leaves she prepares lunch in advance.

9:30 AM- Set Up Her Booth
Teles goes down to the beach side and sets up a booth to display her jewellery while the majority of the tourists (and the occasional local) flow onto the beach. This is the prime time for her sales. Though some days are more productive then others, she makes anywhere from 50-250 dollars.

11:30 AM- Return to the Beach, Eat Lunch + Sunbathe
Once she's dismantled the booth, she returns to the beach itself. At this point, Teles is essentially waiting for most of her friends to come. She usually heads back to the beach and sunbathes while she waits- it naturally bleaches her hair.

1:00 PM- Meet Up with Friends
Alas, when her friends are finally up and moving, she meets up with them at the beach. It's where they know she is every waking hour, so Teles never has to make plans ahead of time. At least one of them comes to join her every afternoon, and although some of them are preoccupied with college or other activities, she always has company.

5:00 PM- Head Back Home + Eat Dinner
When all of her friends have split up and gone on their ways, she heads back home and adds her booth money to her savings jar. She then sits down to eat with her parents, lingering at the table to talk.

6:30 PM- Get Ice Cream + Watch the Sunset
Teles will then go down to the booth that neighbors hers by the beach- an ice cream stand. She orders a vanilla scoop in a sugar cone with her jewellery money and sits on the sand, watching the sunset.

7:30 PM- Get Ready for Bed
This involves reading, organizing her tackle box, brushing her hair... whatever settles her down for bed. If she's especially not tired she'll make some herbal tea.

9:00 PM- Go to Bed
Teles goes to sleep relatively early, but she needs to in order to catch the sunrise, and she's grown used to it.

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist
Like it doesn't exist
I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry

You enter Teles's bedroom, a cozy but relatively small room, with light
blue walls and light brown wooden floors. The room is not especially
crowded, and is unusually organized. It contains only 2 real items of
furniture: a bed and a bookshelf. The bed, which seems hardly big
enough for a fully grown Plumerian, sits against the wall that faces the
ocean. The frame is simple and white. On the bed itself is a simple
blue comforter and one fluffy-looking white pillow with an orange
starfish monogrammed in the corner. Above it is a large window with
no blind or curtain, with a beautiful view of the ocean. It can be opened
with a hand crank to let the sea air in. Below the bed is a royal blue rug,
and underneath it is a large tackle box containing various bits and pieces.
On the opposite wall stands the bookshelf, which mostly contains
personal items, but also holds a handful of books. Above it is a framed
print of a starfish lying on the seafloor. It is immediately apparent that
the room is beach-themed, but it's done subtly and beautifully. The room
is charming and inviting, and you can see how Teles spends hours at a
time in here.
Teles's Tackle Box:

- 2 small pieces of curled drift wood
- 1 piece of blue-tinted sea glass, triangular
- over 20 assorted sea shells, ranging in color
- 1 small pink conch shell
- 3 polished oyster shells
- 4 fish baits, varied
- 1 large piece of fishing net

Teles's Book Shelf:

- The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
- Life of Pi by Yann Martel
- Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
- The Tail of Emily Windsnap by Liz Kessler

Lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man

Just like Teles, I grew up on the beach. For my entire life I've been a 5-minute drive away from the seaside, and it's where I've made so many memories. My next-door neighbors had a small beach on their property (almost as impressive as it sounds XD) that me and my friends practically lived on. We tied a rope swing from the trees to the ocean and swung around, or laid carefree on the sand. And, of course, we jumped into the water and played "mermaids". It was our little paradise. Now I don't visit nearly as often as I should. But the beach is my home away from home, just as it is for Teles. I have Teles's thick, curly, dirty blond hair, and I see so much of myself in her.

She is just so perfect. Her design, of course, is what initially drew me to her. I love her chocolatey brown eyes and seagull feathers, her sandy spots and her dappled, bubbly-looking blues. I can just imagine drawing her, shaping stories around her, and loving her for many years to come. I have one gorgeous and well-loved Plumerian already, Giselle, who is my most adored character. I can only imagine their relationship building, from acquaintances to having a sister-like bond: somewhere between friends and enemies, but with an undying loyalty to one another.

I've had so much fun shaping her personality and interests. I feel that I could answer any questions in Teles's voice, because she's become a character to me, something beyond pixels on a screen. I love her so much, the character that she's become.

I haven't had as much time to work on my form as others (I'm currently recovering from jet lag after an 8-hour plane ride across 5 time zones) and I know that it shows. But I've spent every possible moment working on my form, buying art, drawing it, re-reading, and stressing out over this competition. I don't have as much quantity, but I hope you can see that I poured my soul into this form. Teles is my dream Plumerian and it would mean the world to me if I won her. <3

The sea is emotion incarnate. It loves, hates, and weeps. It defies all attempts

to capture it with words and rejects all shackles. No matter what you say about it,

there is always that which you can't.

Christopher Paolini

Like the sea, Siren is difficult to pin down. She's a free spirit, and can't stand to be confined, literally or figuratively. She doesn't pay much mind to rules and laws if they get in the way of what she wants to do, and the same goes for usual social standards. Siren finds it funny, the careful, delicate circles we turn around each other in the names of 'politeness.' She isn't afraid to speak what's on her mind and cut to the core of the matter with brutal honesty, even if it offends a few. This being said, she also has no qualms about lying - and is quite good at it. She can spin a fantastic excuse for pretty much anything out of thin air, without breaking a sweat. She's confident and knows just how far she can go. Because of her untruthful habits, not many plumies trust her entirely, but she can't bring herself to mind.

Siren doesn't have any big, unattainable goals in life; she just wants to be happy. If something during her day brings her happiness, she calls that day a success! She's very social, so a large source of happiness for her is interacting with other plumies. She gets bored easily, so she doesn't always hang out with the same ones. She'll often go walking along the beach in the morning, find a group of strangers, and befriend them so she has someone to be around for the rest of the day! Siren loves to experiment and try new things, and is also incredibly curious. She'll go to great lengths to prove something or figure out an answer, even if it's a little dangerous or not entirely legal. Once she gets an idea in her head, she just can't let go of it!

One more defining trait of Siren is her utter shamelessness. Caught in a lie? She laughs like you got the punchline of her joke. You'll get no apology from her. There is no fact about her too personal for her to share, in her opinion. You'll never see her blush. This makes Truth or Dare one of her favorite games. If she's asked a truth, it's fun to see everyone's reaction when she spills it out without any hesitation, no matter what they're asking about; from her love life to her parents to legal troubles; or anything at all! Her absolute favorite part, though, is the dares. She loves the rush of adrenaline from doing something risky and new! Even if she isn't doing the dare herself, it gives her great ideas for later. Many of them involve the nearby ocean, which just makes everything ten-times sweeter to Siren. She loves the sea.

Siren's an excellent swimmer and the alluring danger of the ocean's tides and currents is irresistible to her. Although the water may look bright and friendly, she knows that just beneath lurks turmoil, and she's utterly fascinated by it. Siren may not be incredibly fast, but she has a lot of endurance, and loves to swim out far past the breaking waves and relax, imagining all the life beneath her. She'll often dive down and look for it herself, too!

Many who know her are worried by her ocean habits; she has a tendency to swim to dangerous places without safety measures and without letting anyone know where she's gone. But she can't resist the pull of the ocean - there are so many fascinating aspects to it that she simply must explore for herself. Perhaps it's because, in the ocean, she sees a reflection of herself; for the ocean can be deceitful at times, but also brutally honest; it is unapologetic and often distrusted; and it always on the move, never pausing to worry or plan.

But I'm getting ahead of myself ... Let's look at some basics, shall we?

name :: Siren
given name :: Miranda

Siren's parents named her Miranda. However, as she grew up, the name never seemed to fit quite right. Sometime in her teens, she decided she wanted to be named after the mythical creatures that lived in her beloved ocean; Siren. Though they thought it was just a phase, her parents were very supportive and had no problems calling her by her new name. When she reached 18, she legally changed her name to Siren.

pronunciation :: (Sigh - rin)
nicknames :: Si, Siri

The nickname Siri (like on an iPhone) is one her friends often call her by to annoy her. She despises it, quite simply.

gender :: Female
birthday :: July 24th
age :: 22

Image
favorites ::
place :: The ocean
As stated above,
Siren adores the ocean!
It's so large and free
and fascinating.

food :: Sushi
She loves the
freshness of it, and it
always makes her feel as
if she just had a dip in
seawater!

game :: Truth or Dare
Definitely one of her
favorites!
x

xxxxxxxImage
Image
least favorites ::
place :: The pool
It's like a lame version
of the ocean; dead, sanitized water
stuck in a finite space. Ick.

food :: Packaged cereals
They always seem
a bit sickly sweet to her,
and artificial tasting. Even
as a kid, she never really
liked them.

game :: Hide and Seek
Generally it
involves hiding in
little places, and Si
has claustrophobia.

relationships ;;
angel - x - Siren is really curious about Angel's past, and she can be a bit pushy about it, which really annoys Angel. And of course, the more she refuses to tell, the more curious and determined Si becomes ... and eventually, she gets pretty frustrated. They don't hang out very much ...
nutmeg - x - Si and Nutmeg get along really well! Nutmeg's probably one of her closer friends out of my plumerians. They're both easily pleased and they love to play around and have a good time. However, Nutmeg is more inclined to follow rules than Si, which sometimes limits what they can do. Also, given how gullible and naive Nutmeg is, she can get awfully hurt when Siren lies to her.
quinn - x - Quinn is another example of how Siren can be frustrating. Si simply can't understand why she's so deadset against romance, and can't get over that one bad experience with it. She always tries to point out her ocean experience as an example, but this just annoys Quinn to no end. They get along a bit better than her and Angel, but still not very well.
gabriel - x - Siren sometimes likes to hang out with Gabriel; she likes the air of danger that seems to hang around him, and he enjoys her simple happiness. However, he scares her a bit sometimes; she can't get over the fact that he regularly kills other plumies. ; o ;
estellé - x - Siren is completely determined to make Stelle be happy! Unfortunately, she's a perpetual grump, so Si's constant attempts drive her a bit crazy at times. Sometimes, though, they really can have a nice time together, as long as Siren doesn't ruin it by going into I-told-you-so mode ("See! I knew you'd like this! Heheh, I saw a smile! Don't deny it!") They're a bit of an odd pair, but Si would certainly consider Stelle to be her friend, though whether or not the feeling was mutual might vary from day to day.
parents - [note: these aren't 'real' plumerians] - Although Siren is an only child, she never felt lonely growing up. There always plenty of plumerians around to befriend, and perhaps more importantly, her parents, Jake and Allie, did everything in their power to make sure she never felt alone. They were always happy to drop everything they were doing to play with Si or help her out; they both felt that their daughter was a precious blessing in their lives and didn't want to lose a single instant of time that could be spent with her. Though looking back, she realizes her parents must have been very busy, trying to balance work and family -- Jake especially; being a doctor, he often had to work odd hours -- none of her childhood memories seem to fit with this idea. Her parents never gave her the idea that she was holding them up, because she wasn't; there was truly nowhere else they'd rather be than with Siren. Si is incredibly grateful to have such fantastic parents and makes sure to visit them regularly. The little family is very, very close, and she's never afraid to tell her parents anything.

And here's a little interview of sorts u v u Question source: x

Part 1: The Basics
What is your full name?
Siren Rose Brown
Who are/were your parents? Occupations?
Her mother and father both work in health-related jobs; her mother has a part-time job as a pharmacist, and her father is a doctor. Both are kind and accepting of whatever their daughter chooses to do, although her oceanic tendencies often make them nervous.
Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
No; she's an only child.
Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
Siren lives on her own in a small house on the beach. It's somewhat close to her parent's house and she sees them from time to time. The house itself is small, with only 4 rooms, but when she throws the windows open to let in the sea breeze, it turns into a lovely, airy place. She couldn't be happier with her current home.
What is your occupation?
When Siren moved out, her parents gave her a lot of money as a gift to help her get started. She lives mostly off that, as it could last her for years, but also has a job as a cashier at a nearby souvenir shop.
Write a full physical description of yourself.
A tall, willowy plumerian with long blonde hair. Her head and front legs are tan colored, with darker spots; blue spots and blending cover the second half of her body. Her eyes are dark brown. She wears a starfish in her hair, along with some pearls, a strip of netting connected to pearls on her tail, and a piece of seaweed with shells and starfish tied with netting to her wrist.
To which social class do you belong?
Upper-middle class, though she couldn't care less about social classes.
Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Siren is not prone to sickness, but she is slightly allergic to pollen and certain sea urchins.
Are you right- or left-handed?
Left handed.
What does your voice sound like?
It's surprisingly low for a lady. A bit rough-and-tough sounding.
What do you have in your pockets?
Generally? A bit of string (just in case) and all manners of shells, sand dollars, and other ocean treasures.
Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Siren tends to fidget a lot when she's talking to someone. She doesn't like to stand still, and especially if she's talking about plans for doing something, she wants to get going right away!

Part 2: Growing Up

How would you describe your childhood in general?
Idyllic; very peaceful and lovely.
What is your earliest memory?
Probably the time she wandered into the ocean ;o;
How much schooling have you had?
She graduated from high school but chose not to attend college, much to her parents' dismay.
Did you enjoy school?
She did very well but didn't enjoy it particularly. Too many rules.
Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
She learns something new from nearly everyone she meets!
While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Not in particular - she's not really the type to look up to someone. She tries to do admirable things herself, rather than look up to people who have done them!
While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
She got along with her family fairly well; she was often out with friends so they didn't interact very much, but she was always very fond of them, and they were of her as well.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Siren's interests changed weekly; from astronaut to master chef to army general!
As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Siren has always loved playing truth or dare.
As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Although she wouldn't say so, Siren was pretty popular. She was an interesting character to be around, and was always making new friends. She didn't have a particular group that she hung out with though, but instead switched around all the time, which annoyed some.

Part 3: Past Influences

What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Rediscovering the ocean!
Who has had the most influence on you?
Probably, herself. She doesn't tend to let others change her.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
She discovered a new species of sea urchin! (Which she just happens to be allergic to, of course D|)
What is your greatest regret?
Si honestly doesn't have many large regrets.
What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Several times, she's said things that are a bit more cruel than is fair, and caused quite a bit of upset.
Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
She hasn't committed any major crimes, but gets in trouble with the law from time to time for being so obstinate.
When was the time you were the most frightened?
Age 4 - the ocean.
What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
It's incredibly difficult to embarrass Siren.
If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
She would wish to have gotten back into the ocean sooner! The more time she got to spend there, the better.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Si is a definite optimist.
What is your greatest fear?
She fears pollution of the ocean! Oil spills could happen close to home and kill off all her beloved sealife. The thought is terrifying.
What are your religious views?
She's an atheist.
What are your political views?
She finds politics silly, quite frankly.
Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
Siren has never killed anyone and probably wouldn't be able to.
Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Absolutely!
What do you believe makes a successful life?
Whatever makes you truly happy.
How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
Si doesn't often hide her feelings from others; and she's never afraid to let everyone know what she's thinking!
Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
Her parents, and a few closer friends.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
She treats everyone almost the same way, actually. She doesn't let closeness keep her from telling anyone the harsh truth, or lying to them, for that matter.
Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
She doesn't have a huge amount of respect for most others, honestly.
Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
Nope; none!
Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
She hasn't ever fallen in love but hopes she will someday.
What do you look for in a potential lover?
Siren would need somebody who loved the ocean, just as she does; and somebody who would be able to understand her and not be hurt by her words. A bit of a difficult find.
How close are you to your family?
Pretty close, though they've grown a bit more distant now that they've moved out.
Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
Siren hasn't. She may someday, but she does worry that she might not be a good mother; she's gone so often on her ocean expeditions.
Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Probably her parents <3
Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
She's very trusting; she would trust most of her friends with her life, honestly.
If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
A /lot/ of plumerians would. She makes a lot of friends and is such a unique character that she's well remembered.
Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Siren doesn't start arguments for no reason, but she definitely doesn't avoid conflict. If someone's wrong, she isn't afraid to say so.
Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Only if she sees something wrong with the current leader.
Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
She loves to! The more, the merrier!
Do you care what others think of you?
She couldn't care less. u__u

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
She loves to swim and explore the ocean!
What is your most treasured possession?
Probably her accessories; they carry an important memory of how she overcame her fear (and turned it into a fascination!)
What is your favorite color?
Red. Bright and passionate.
What is your favorite food?
Sushi!
What, if anything, do you like to read?
She loves to read cheesy romance novels, and in depth books about philosophy. Depending on her mood.
What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
If she can't be in the ocean, she loves to listen to music and adores going to the movies.
How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Out with friends - probably doing something stupid.
What makes you laugh?
Siren laughs /a lot/. She'll laugh at nearly any joke, no matter how lame it is. A good prank will make her laugh til her face is red.
What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
She'd probably go sit out on the dock and close her eyes, listening to the waves.
How do you deal with stress?
Si doesn't get stressed out by much, but she tends to talk things out with friends to make herself feel better.
Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Very spontaneous!

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Siren doesn't have a particular routine - she likes each day to be unique and exciting!
What is your greatest strength as a person?
Probably her ability to see to the heart of a situation and understand the truth of what's going on.
What is your greatest weakness?
Her inability to feel guilty.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
She honestly can't think of a thing she'd change. She's happy with herself.
Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Extroverted, for sure!
Are you generally organized or messy?
Si is exceedingly messy.
Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Swimming; lying; enjoying herself. Getting upset; feeling guilty; flirting.
Do you like yourself?
Yes! Humility aside, Si has no issues with self-esteem.
What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
Siren already achieved a big goal of hers, discovering a new species! However, she'd also love to help clean up the world's oceans.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
If things go her way, she'd love to be right where she is now :D"
If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Quickly and painlessly, is all.
If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
1. Swim. A /lot/.
2. Say goodbye to her parents and friends!
3. One last game of Truth or Dare.
What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
She'd probably be remembered for her many friends.
What three words best describe your personality?
Free-spirited; rash.
What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Inconsiderate; intelligent; happy.
If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?
Siren! Please remember - there're other great things out there, besides the ocean. x'D

There's nothing wrong with enjoying looking at the surface of the ocean itself,

except that when you finally see what goes on underwater, you realize that

you've been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on the surface all the

time is like going to the circus and staring at the outside of the tent.

Dave Barry

Siren (well, Miranda at the time) was born in a sleepy seaside town at 2:03 in the morning. Most plumerians were sound asleep at that hour, and soon enough, her parents were too. Siren, left alone in a brand-new crib, felt terribly lonely. The little plumie shivered in the damp seaside air, and she was about to cry when she heard - the sound. A rushing, whooshing, soothing sound, she closed her eyes and it sent her straight to sleep. For that night and many nights after, the crashing waves on the nearby shore would be her lullaby.

4 y e a r s l a t e r ...

Siren's mother chattered into her cellphone distractedly, laying back in the sand, letting the sunlight warm her. Little Si was sound asleep curled up on a towel next to her. A little spray of seawater woke Siren, as a wave bounded up just a little closer to their towels than the waves before it. She blinked sleepily, her deep brown eyes sweeping around the beach. They latched on the ocean - sparkling blue, with little rivulets of seafoam; nothing looked more appealing on this incredibly hot day. Determinedly, Siren began crawling towards the ocean. A little closer - a little closer - there!

The cold water lapped around her little paws and she trudged out happily, further and further. She shivered a little as it soaked her fur, but the melodious sound of the waves crashing behind her encouraged her to go on. She pushed a little further and a little further, until her paws just barely lifted off the sandy seafloor. She panicked for a moment, flailing, sure she'd go under, but then began paddling and managed to stay on the surface. Siren smiled delightedly, feeling utterly at peace. The current swayed her gently, and she was certain nothing had ever felt as good as the cold, salty water on her warm fur. She closed her eyes and swam out a little further, her young mind certain there was nowhere else she'd rather be.

Suddenly though, a huge wave crashed over her, taking her by surprise. Si was dragged underwater and she panicked, eyes stinging from the salt water. She kicked frantically but she wasn't sure which way was up. Her air was running out fast and in a moment of fear, she tried to gulp some more, resulting in a throat full of salt water. She coughed and spat but that only let more in.The peaceful mood of her adventure had all changed ... at the last minute she bobbed back up to the surface, just long enough to let out a panicked cry and grab a gulp of air before she was plunged back under by the suddenly violent waves. She saw darkness, darkness all around, and a spike of pure terror pierced her heart ...

On shore, a shrill cry jolted Siren's mother from her peaceful reverie. She sat up and stretched, wondering what the source of the noise was. She looked over at her daughter -- or rather, where her daughter should have been. She gasped, suddenly alert and awake. It was a big beach ... the little plumerian could be anywhere by now! A shiver ran down her spine as she looked at the dark and ominous sea. She wouldn't have -- would she? The anxious mother squinted at the ocean, looking for any sign of life. And there it was! A little flicker of gold popped up briefly before being swallowed by the sea once more. She took a few steps back, then ran forward and dove into the sea, towards the little bit of color she had spotted. Swimming hard and fast, she was far out in the sea in no time. But still, she saw no sign of Miranda. She treaded water, eyes flicking about, desperate for any little clue towards where her daughter had gone.

There! - just out of the corner of her eye, a little flash of brighter blue ... she dove down, keeping her eyes open despite the sting of the seawater, and there she was! Looking smaller and more vulnerable than ever, curled in a little ball, shivering in fright ... Miranda! She kicked forcefully, scooping up her daughter and pulling her up out of the water as quickly as she possibly could. She paddled back to shore and pulled her up onto the beach, laying her on her towel. "Miranda? Are you alright?" she asked nervously, a jolt of guilt running through her. If anything, anything had happened to her baby girl, it was all her fault ... she should have paid better attention ... She shook these thoughts of her head and sat next to Miranda, watching for some sign that she'd be okay.

Siren blinked, let out a gasp and a hiccup, and sat up. Her mother exclaimed with joy and relief and swept her in a hug. As she stroked her hair, she made a silent promise to herself - her daughter would never go near the ocean again ...

1 0 y e a r s l a t e r ...

"Oh, come on! Are you going to do it, or what?"
Siren bit her lip. She had never turned down a dare before, but ...
"It's not even a very bad dare! The ocean is a bit scary at night, but you just have to jump in really quick and get out again. Easy."

There was no way for Siren to explain to them all - no way she could, no way she would. She couldn't tell them how her family had picked up and moved inland to be away from the sea; how she still woke up gasping from nightmares about the dark waters pulling her under; how she'd never been near the ocean since that day ... No, there was no way she could tell them that, not as an excuse at least. She would seem like a fool - and a coward.

She laughed. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's go!" With a heart full of dread, she snuck out of her friend's house, the other members of the sleepover not far behind. They ran down the quiet nighttime streets until they reach the dock. Siren took a deep, shaky breath and then took a step onto it. And then another, and another, until she was standing at the very end, watching the moonlight gleam off the dark water. It looked just like her nightmares - but she pushed the thought out of her head. Her friends crowded around her, nearly pushing her off the edge. She sat down carefully, dipping a toe in and swirling her foot around and around as she tried to work up the courage to jump in.

"Come on!" someone groaned, wanting to get on with the game. She shot them a withering glare, and then ... she jumped.
She hit the water with a splash and she began to sink and it was cold, shockingly cold. Si opened her eyes and saw darkness all around her. Tendrils of seaweed loomed threateningly beneath her, looking as if they could be hiding all sorts of terrors. Something touched her leg and she let out a little shriek, losing some air. She watched as several precious bubbles of air drifted away from her and her fear turned to anger. She was not a coward and she would not act like one.

She twisted around in the water and saw that some strands of netting had brushed up against her leg. Detaching them carefully, she slipped them into her pocket. Feeling powerful, she grabbed a fistful of the ominous seaweed, too. The removed seaweed exposed a spot of sand and seafloor, where something glittered. Her curiosity piqued, and fear almost gone, Si swam quickly back to the surface for another breath of air before diving back under to investigate. She hesitated for a second, still a bit frightened to go all the way to the bottom, especially with the waving strands of seaweed brushing up against her, but she pushed those feelings aside. She would be strong; she would be brave. She swam down to the sandy bottom and found the source of the sparkling; a cluster of pearls, half buried in sand. She scooped them up in one hand, admiring their shine. She tucked them away too, determined to make something to remember this moment.

Having completed the dare, she was about to swim back to the surface, when a little bit of glimmering white caught her eye. Two lovely seashells, one round and the other the opposite, made their way into her pocket as well. She was tempted by a couple of bright starfish but decided against taking them - they would die, anyways. She could always buy some in the many beachy shops along the shore. With a single powerful stroke, her head broke through the surface. She smiled at her friends on the dock and gave them a thumbs-up. Just as she was facing towards them, though, a big wave rolled in and broke over her head, pushing her under. It was just like it happened so many years earlier ... but this time, Siren wasn't afraid.

The power of the wave filled her with curiosity and wonder, and she couldn't help feeling amazed as it tumbled her around. She swam back to the surface for another breath of air before going back under, and this time swimming further out. She watched the ocean floor as she reached the drop off, and kept swimming until all she could see beneath her was inky blackness. The mysteriousness of the ocean that had once frightened her so now gave a thrill of adrenaline. She swam down, and down, and down, enjoying the feeling of the water all around her, buoying her upwards. She explored for what seemed like hours, watching fish flicker in the light and seaweed sway peacefully.

When she finally came back to the dock, her friends were furious with her for having delayed their game for so long. But as she climbed gracefully out of the water, droplets dripping from her hair, a new sparkle in her eyes and a wide, delighted grin on her face, they couldn't bring themselves to be upset very long. The group of friends, arms around each others shoulders, turned their back to the ocean and made their way towards the house as sunlight began to creep over the streets. No one looked back - or no one seemed to. For one gorgeous second, as rays of sun danced off the water, Siren cast a glance over her shoulder, and her chocolate eyes filled with wonder.

1 d a y l a t e r ...

Snip, snip, snip.
Siren hummed happily to herself as she cut the netting down to the proper size. Earlier, she had emptied out her pockets, and now she sat on the floor of her room, a circle of sea-trinkets surrounding her. A receipt from the souvenir shop had fallen from her pocket as well, and she kicked it aside. Taking a couple of pearls, she fastened a bit of netting onto her tail. She looked in the mirror, swishing it back and forth, and smiled. It looked just right. She picked up another strand of netting and tied it around her wrist. She woved a bit of the seaweed into it, but it still looked a bit plain ... She turned around and scooped up a few shells and a bright blue starfish. There! Si held her arm out and turned it back and forth, admiring. Perfect!

Last but not least, she pulled back her hair with a red starfish, adding in a couple pearls for good measure. She twirled in front of the mirror. "I love it!" she exclaimed suddenly. It reminded her perfectly of the ocean. Ah, the ocean ... Siren sank down onto the floor and put her head in hands, smiling. She couldn't stop thinking about it. It was unbelievable that she'd stayed away so many years, from its waves and the deep darkness and the underwater caves and fish - she was getting shivers just thinking about it!

"Siren? It's time for din-" Her mother opened her door and gasped. "Si ... where did you get those?" she asked, trembling as she thought of that fateful day she'd almost lost her daughter. Siren looked up at her from her seat on the floor, unflinching. "The ocean." She replied simply.

"But- but-"

Siren shook her ahead, knowing already what her mother would say. "Mom. That was years ago. You can't keep me away from the ocean forever ... I love it there."

Her mother just shook her head and took a deep breath. "Alright ..." she said shakily, understanding the truth in her daughter's words. "Just -- please, be careful?"

Siren smiled and wrapped her mom into a hug. "Of course," she said, smiling. "Of course."

It’s always our self we find in the sea.

Well, as you may be able to tell, I really, really want Siren. I decided to make this bit of the form a sort of explanation of why; and also my plans, were I to win her. v w v

Now, honestly Polaris, I really love all your designs. (Especially my Gabriel -snugs-) But though I've often been tempted, I've kept myself from ever trying out for a plumerian before. As soon as I saw Siren, though ... I knew I couldn't keep myself from entering. Everything about her is just right. I instantly fell in love; so much connection with her, aaa ... Her design, her accessories ... I completely adore it all. I'll try to explain, though it's hard ...

First of all, she really, really does look beachy! From her blonde hair to sandy colors to those ocean blues, looking at her transports me into happy memories of long-gone family vacations. Her blue markings truly look like waves crashing onto the shore! Some of my happiest memories have been formed at the beach and just looking at her makes me think of them and smile.

Secondly ... regardless of the beach theme ... the design is just gorgeous, in and of itself. I love the tan colors; the little spots on her legs and her little freckles are incredibly cute. The light cream color really helps it all tie into the design, and neatly finishes off the edges. The blue looks gorgeous, of course! It contrasts really nicely with the more dull-colored tan based and the even lighter blue on top really helps it all pop. I'm a total sucker for spots, and the way the light blue ones are arranged is just to die for. It looks like a flower-shape, almost, and also seems to signify the movement of the waves. The blue shows up in just enough places for it to fit in with the whole design, and it looks fantastic! (I especially love it on her ears, and her little blue nose ♥)

Also, her accessories. Oh goodness \ v / I love how intricate and carefully made they are; they seem to really fit her perfectly! I love the recurring theme of the pearls and netting; both look fantastic with the design and help make the other parts of the accessories fit in. The little cluster of shells and starfish makes an adorable bracelet; and the red starfish contrasts perfectly with her hair. Ah, yes! Her hair. Not gonna lie, I love the hair. It's so long and curly and gorgeous and seems to perfectly fit for a mermaid - or a beach gal. It's incredibly fun to draw, too, heheh Q v Q Last but not least, her eyes are just fantastic. The rich brown fits very, very well and I love her long lashes, aaa ~

Ohgosh, I'm sorry to just spew a whole paragraph of fangirling on you x'D Basically all I'm trying to say is, this girl is super gorgeous, and just the sight of her makes me feel really happy. Plus she's a joy to draw ♥

Yet another reason I'm so attached to Siren is her personality. It came to mind as soon as I saw her, and though I haven't been able to develop it as much as I'd have liked -- darn summer camp! Q __ Q -- I find it quite interesting so far. It's quite different from any of my plumerians', and I've really enjoyed playing with it and imagining her perspective. I think her history shapes her in fascinating ways and I love imagining how she would react to certain situations. Basically ... ah, I'm terrible at saying it! But basically, just, I really, really love Siren. I've spent most of my time since she was posted writing about her and drawing her and even simply thinking about her -- late into the night, planning and imagining and dreaming. I love everything about her and I would be incredibly honored to call her mine. ; uuu ; <3

Ah, yes, plans! If I were to win Siren, well, I'd certainly have a lot to do! First of all, obviously, I'd be incredibly excited and freak out and go tell Tinyfire x'D And probably get weird looks from the rest of family, but who cares, right? |"D Of course, the important thing is more long-term plans. First things first -- this darling would be getting a lot of art. I love love love drawing her, so she'd get a lot of art from me; I'd love to experiment with different techniques and backgrounds, and she's really inspired me to do so! And of course, I'd commission/trade for a lot of art of her from other people, too. I love seeing her drawn in other styles, aaa~

Secondly, I'd really love to develop her personality further! Like I said above, I haven't been able to do so as much as I would have liked; I'd love to write more about it. Also, I'd roleplay her! Seeing how she interacted with other plumerians would be fun and would help me develop her further; plus she could make some more friends, which is always great. uwu

Last but not least, the poor dear would probably be subject to my story-writing! I'm always trying to improve my writing and I love to write about Siren :"D I'd also love to try something from her perspective! She's very inspirational to me; I can't stop coming up with ideas for her ... I just can't get her out of my head! In the best way possible, of course<3

Ah - I've forgotten to mention! If I were to win her, I'd also definitely make Siren some kind of thread or web page. A place to store all her art and writing, so it wouldn't get mussed up or confused ; w ;

I think that's about it for now. As my parting words, I'd just like to say that this girl deserves a wonderful, active, loving home. I'd love for it to be with me; but regardless of whether or not I win, I know she'll go to a great owner<3 Thank you for the opportunity! n__n

Hi! I'm Bluepup! This is my first time trying out for a Plumerian pup.
Everyone so far is doing amazing on their entries!
Why am I trying out for this pup? Well,I have a strong connection
with the ocean and I want to do everything in my power to protect it.
When I saw this pup, her pattern gave me the idea that her personality
showed her as always wanting to conserve the ocean's beauty. In a way,
I thought she was very similar to me!

Personality;; Oceana is a fun, bubbly Plumerian pup who doesn't take life to seriously. She likes to go with the flow and wing most things. However, when it comes to ocean and protecting it, Oceana is never afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what is right. She does what she feels is best for the ecosystem and isn't big on pollution. She's very outgoing and always open to new ideas. When it comes to relationships, this Plumerian has a high matter of air, meaning, she may seem emotionless when it comes crushes or mates, but the fact is, is that she doesn't know how to express her feelings towards relationships. She feels at times that her heart only belongs to the ocean.
Accessories;; Each item Oceana has is there to represent her love for the ocean. Although she loves the water, she can't always be around it, so, she keeps these items to feel in-touch and at home.
How she came to be;; Although it is most uncertain how Oceana was born, the pup likes to say she was born from sea foam, like a mermaid, instead of turning into sea foam when passing away. It makes her happy to turn that saying around since she believes all good things come from the sea.

I sincerely apologize that my form is not very long like the other contestants.

so much to me if I won her. Please enjoy my form and good luck

Hello! I'm patronus and I love Plumerians! I'm very active throughout the community and
I love interacting with others. Lets see, I own two very handsome snake-based
Plumerians and I love them both very much! I'd really like to bring a female into my group
of rowdy boys. Below me, you will see one of my best and hardest worked on forms ever.
I'd like to thank you for reading through this. Oh! -and creating this beautiful gal.
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

❝I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hair of the waves blown back
When the wind blows the water white and black.

We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown.❞

»»PERSONALITY
•overall personality•
When you first meet this beautiful girl, she will be cautious and shy around you. Before she gets to her talkative and and sweet side, she'll have to warm up to you. This mermaid based Plumerian is not as a Greek mermaid, but as a Disney one. She is a total sweetheart with a vivacious spirit. You'll never meet a more kind and thoughtful Pluma.

Good Traits

adventurous - athletic - clever - curious - charming
Wha-? Where did Lori go now? That mermaid is probably out causing mayhem on the reef. She is very adventurous and can hardly stay still when about to go explore somewhere new. Her athleticism allows her to be so adventurous. Lori could be a cat she's so clever and curious. She doesn't always question things, but shes always inquisitive on how things work or why they work the way they do. This leads her to be smartly charming. Lori's combined smarts, looks, and personality can make her very, very charming.

daring- forgiving - friendly - hardworking - humorous
You have to be pretty daring to go free falling off of a mountain side in a squirrel suit. Well, maybe it wasn't technically a squirrel suit, but you get my point. Go ahead and challenge Lori. She will try her best to do her best in what shes doing and honestly, that's what she expects of herself. Lori is one of the most friendly and forgiving Plumerians in the world. If she sees another person getting bullied, oh you better believe it that she will help out the victim. Another side of Lori is her humorous side. She loves to laugh and make jokes.

kind - optimistic - responsible - sweet - determined
As I said above, you probably wont meet a kinder and sweeter Plumerian. She doesn't snap easily and will stick up for those who cant do it themselves. This sweetheart is very optimistic and always thinks of things getting better, not worse. "Who ever said you can't have fun without being responsible?" Lori being the sweetheart she is, she is very responsible. She wont say that she's going to do something and not do it, that's just not like her. This Plumerian has a certain determination in her eye. She wont back down from what she believes is right.

Negative Traits:

reserved - sarcastic - stubborn -cautious - impatient - insecure
Everyone has their bad traits and here are Lori's. Although Lori is as sweet as it gets, she can get quite sarcastic around her friends Caius and Paxton. Her sarcasm generates mainly around boys. Around new people, Lori will become reserved and cautious. She doesn't really get nervous or have stage fright, but she just gets shy. Lori can be very impatient when it comes to going new places. She absolutely hates to wait on others. One of her worst negative traits is, is that shes as stubborn as a mule. If she has her heart and mind set to something, you better believe that she sticking with it until the end. Lat but not least, Lori is insecure, like, most girls.

So basically, you just met the girl next door.

•Washing up can lead to the darnedest of things•
    two years ago

.....I remember my birth. I remember my younger years. What I don't quite remember, is how I got washed up on this beach. I couldn't remember anything before waking up on that beach. I looked up from where I was laying. Sand felt like it was in every crease of my body. Not to mention, there was trash crowding my body. I sat up, scared and alone. I couldn't see any other Plumerian in sight. The warm water lapped at my sides as I sat up to look around. My legs are quite sore and I felt like my head was very deprived of water. I'm only 15 and I feel like I'm about to die. -but something in my head said that I was going to live. I stood up, feeling instantly dizzy. I felt light headed and definitely not ready to walk for long distances. If I was anything like my father, I would not give up. Though I had double vision and had no idea where I was going, but I decided that right was the best way to go. I walked and walked for what felt like hours, which it easily could have been. Just as I fell to my knees, I could hear someone calling in the distance. I closed my eyes for an instant and fell to the ground with a thud.
.....My eyes flutter open and I'm looking around with the same confused daze. But this time, I'm inside. I hear the chatter of anther Plumerian, a male Plumerian. I'm laying on a comfortable couch with no idea what going on. I sit up and nearly fall over again. "Wh- Wha?" I call out to the other Plumerian, who seemed to be talking on the phone. It appeared that he didn't hear what I had said. I regained my balance and sat up straight, just as my father taught me to. I noticed a glass of water sitting across from me on the table. I wasn't sure that it was mine, but I was so thirsty that I took the glass and downed it very quickly. By the time I was done, the unknown male had looked over my way. "I see you're up." He said, inhaling with a smile "I- I'm Daytona. This is my house. -and I found you on the beach." Daytona walked closer to me to, scrutinizing me. I hadn't seen his face until then, and wow he was handsome. I immediately became shy and breathless. "I- I- I'm Lori. Where am I?" Daytona looked take aback "You're in Maui, Hawaii."

A Tale of a Mermaid wrote:
'Twas Friday morn when we set sail,
And we had not got far from land,
When the Captain, he spied a lovely mermaid,
With a comb and a glass in her hand.
Oh the ocean waves may roll,
And the stormy winds may blow,
While we poor sailors go skipping aloft
And the land lubbers lay down below, below, below
And the land lubbers lay down below.

Then up spoke the Captain of our gallant ship,
And a jolly old Captain was he;
"I have a wife in Salem town,
But tonight a widow she will be."
Oh the ocean waves may roll,
And the stormy winds may blow,
While we poor sailors go skipping aloft
And the land lubbers lay down below, below, below
And the land lubbers lay down below.

Then up spoke the Cook of our gallant ship,
And a greasy old Cook was he;
"I care more for my kettles and my pots,
Than I do for the roaring of the sea."
Oh the ocean waves may roll,
And the stormy winds may blow,
While we poor sailors go skipping aloft
And the land lubbers lay down below, below, below
And the land lubbers lay down below.

Then up spoke the Cabin-boy of our gallant ship,
And a dirty little brat was he;
"I have friends in Boston town
That don't care a ha' penny for me."
Oh the ocean waves may roll,
And the stormy winds may blow,
While we poor sailors go skipping aloft
And the land lubbers lay down below, below, below
And the land lubbers lay down below.

Then three times 'round went our gallant ship,
And three times 'round went she,
And the third time that she went 'round
She sank to the bottom of the sea.
Oh the ocean waves may roll,
And the stormy winds may blow,
While we poor sailors go skipping aloft
And the land lubbers lay down below, below, below
And the land lubbers lay down below.

MEMORIES, MEMORIES
[Note: Lori remembers everything from her past, but just not the events leading up to her rude awakening on the beach.]

Hometown: Sligo, Ireland
Type of childhood: Sligo Ireland wasn't the typical fun time for Lori. Her childhood was hard, and boring- for the most part. She only had a few friends to play with and they were not always the kindest to her. In short, her younger childhood was "boringly interesting."
Most important childhood event that still affects her: The death of her mother and brother, Leah and Charlie, still weighs on Lori's shoulders heavily.
Lower education: Lori is very smart, so she has skipped two grades, and has graduated high school. Her high school was average, but it was academically enough for Lori.
Higher education: Lori has applied for a few colleges, but before she goes to school, she wanted to look at the world. [view history section for more on this subject]
In school activities: Lori participated in things such as track and field, chorus, and swim team.
Book-smart or street-smart?: Lori is a mix of both. Her smart mix well with a logical term of what to do in a street-fight-situation.
Religion and/or religious views and/or tendencies?: Lori has no idea of what to believe in. She was christian for her younger years, but now, she really has "forgotten" the idea of religion. I wouldn't say that she is atheist, but maybe agnostic.
Overall History:
[Remember, Lori doesn't remember most of this, but for form equity, I wrote it out.]
Let's start from the early years, shall we? Lori was born in Sligo, Ireland at 2:34 in the morning. She was always a very healthy baby. She never was fussy or cried either. Lori always learned and catched on very quickly. If she was't causing mayhem inside, she was doing it outside. Though her childhood was mostly happy, there is one thing that still dwells on Lori today. When she was born, her mother started to get very sick, at a very fast pace. Of course, Lori noticed and didn't understand, at her young age. Her mother was bed ridden and was missing through out most of Lori's early years. When her mother started to get better, Lori by then was already eight years of human age. One morning, Lori woke up to her mother and father on the couch discussing what they would say about "the new addition." Turns out, her mother was pregnant with a baby boy. At first, Lori wasn't to happy about having to share. But she soon got used to the idea of being able to pamper the baby boy. "He will be the prettiest boy ever!" On March 5th, her baby brother was born, but something wasn't right. Her brother was born very under weight and very sick. Charlie's birth ended up making Lori's mother very sick again. She was still kind of young, but she understood what her father meant when he said things like, "Charlie might decided to live in Heaven, not with us, Okay?" Any moment she could, she would go and visit the hospital. Later that year, Little Charlie passed away. It was all a very sad time for the small family. Things only got worse. The family of three was bordering the line of two. As Lori turned ten, her mother was the sickest that she's ever seen her. There was a strong possibility that she wasn't going to make it. She didn't. Father and daughter were left to make the best out of the situation. It was tough for a while, and for the two, it only got worse. Lori's father became cold and distant, not the person he was before. However, Lori stayed strong, but her father was out of control. The man ignored her, and didn't act as a father should. One day, Lori had had enough of her father. She packed a bag of her things and simply left. She said nothing to him, as he did her. That was that. Read on for further details!

SOME OF THE LITTLE THINGS
•Greatest fear: Lori's greatest fear is having no one to hold on to. She dislikes being alone, and for her to have no one as her "rock" in her life, is her greatest fear.
•Phobias: Chiroptophobia - fear of bats
Coulrophobia - fear of clowns
Gelotophobia - fear of being laughed at
Nosocomephobia - fear of hospitals
•Worst thing that could happen to her?: I think the loss of her friends and family, would be just, devastating for her. She's already loss so much in her life, and having her go through that again would be the worst.
What single event would most throw Lori's life in complete turmoil?: Well, as you read, hopefully, in the story above, you will see that she has washed up on the beach with no memory of what happened. I'm sure it can't get any worse than that.
Lori is most at ease when: She's sitting on the beach reading and sipping on sweet tea.
Priorities: As of now, Lori's priorities consists of getting her degree and having a great time while doing so.
Philosophy: If you don't live for something, you'll die for nothing.
Past failure that she would be embarrassed to have people know about: "I think I would be embarrassed to have people know about my first free dive. Well to start off- I was very inexperienced.." *chuckles* "It was just- really embarrassing..."
If granted one wish, what would it be?: "I wouldn't wish to end war, because someone is always going to be unhappy with what someone else is doing. I think that I would wish to end things like bullying. Or- Maybe for the acceptance and tolerance of the LGBT community."
Daredevil or cautious?: Lori is a mix of both. When around her close friends, Meredith and Kin, she is a definite daredevil. -but around new people, she tends to get shy and cautious.
Biggest accomplishment: I think Lori's biggest accomplishments would have to include her making and learning so many new things in Maui with her new friends. She lived a pretty normal life, so she considers anything after the beach incident, a major accomplishment.
Minor accomplishments: Although Lorelei pretty much thinks of everything new, as an accomplishment, she does have her minor accomplishments. Things like making her new friends and learning how to surf are minor to her.
Lori's darkest secret: "That is meant-t to be a secret? Isn't it?"

• Realizing the Truth •

I sit up straight on Daytona's couch. "Maui? -But h- how did I get here?" Dayton looked about as confused as I did. "Heck if I know." He gave a generous smile and walked back over to the kitchen. "Are you hungry? Thirsty?" He asked, pouring himself a glass of water. No longer feeling as dizzy, I stood up. "Yes, please. I'd also like a water." I walked slowly over the kitchen with a small smile on my face. Things were coming back to me. Why I left- What happened... I'm now gone from him, I can live freely now. I took the glass in my hand and nodded a thanks to Daytona. The glass of refreshing water was downed in seconds. "So? Where are you from?" Daytona asked, his eyes scrutinizing me. Memories flood my mind as I try to find the right one. "I- I was born in Ireland, but I had to leave." Daytona looked at me with that same annoying scrutinizing look. "What?" I asked, not liking the feeling of being stared at. "Nothing, I'm just- interested. I found you washed up on the beach and you- You're just interesting." He leaned off of the counter and returned to the fridge. "Ham and cheese?" Daytona asked. "Yes please. Thank you very much- Daytona." The very beach-y Plumerian nodded and started making sandwiches. "Why don't you try to remember what happened to get you here?" I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, okay." I closed my eyes, hoping to see a flashback of what happened. Flashes of the previous night ran through my head. Daytona rounded the bar and handed me my sandwich. "Thanks- I think I remember what happened." He motioned for us to sit outside and I agreed.

"I think- I was coming from Ireland. But the only thing I could afford was a ship ride to here. I specifically wanted to come to Hawaii." I blinked, tears welling up, but shaking them off. "It was farthest away from Sligo, Ireland- Where I used to live. It took three different boat trips to get here- but I think something malfunctioned on the last boat. It was terrifying. Everyone was screaming and crying. The boat that I was on was cheap- that means that not everything was in order. There were life boats missing and everything was already full. I was a good thing that we were only a few miles from shore. Luckily for me- I'm a great swimmer, so I was able to swim to shore." Daytona looked to me in awe. By the time my story was done, I had only eaten half of my sandwich. Daytona smiled. "You can stay here until you get a job and find everything you need. My home is your home."

    A TALE OF ACCESSORIES:
List of accessories: -Starfish hair clip
    -fishnet tail decoration
    -seaweed and shells bracelet
    -shell earings
Image
I made this bracelet myself. While I was getting situated in Maui, it was all very stressful, so at the time, when things got excruciatingly stressful, I'd walk the beach. One evening, I noticed quite a bit of trash and waste that had littered the shoreline. Being the good Samaritan I am, I picked most of it up. When I checked back for more, I found two beautiful shells and a wonderful looking starfish. Well, I had also found some cloth and a small thing of fish net! My creativity had gotten the best of me and I made well, this! I've worn it ever since!

Image
This starfish hair clip was my mothers. We both shared the same passion for the sea. She had found the pearls while she was scuba diving and decided that she would take them and get them made into a hair accessory. Well, when she got to the accessory shoppe, she noticed that they were selling hair clips and that she could get a starfish put on one. Starfishes were her favorite animal. My mother came home later that day with a new hair accessory and she wore it all the time! When my mother died, seeing how much I adored it, she left it to me. Now I wear it everyday!

Image
I actually found the fishnets, but someone had given me the pearls. I had so much fun making the bracelet that I felt that it would be cool to have a tail accessory. So I asked around for some pearls and I came across someone who just- gave them to me. I ended up making this in a day and now I wear it all the time!

Hey there! My name is Daria. My name is of Greek and Persian origin, and the meaning of Daria is "maintains possessions well". Feminine of Darius, a Persian royal name. Darya also means "the sea" in Persian.

If you couldn't already tell from my Feminine voice, I am a female.

More about me. Well, hm..
I guess I can be a little shy at first.. I guess I just don't want people to judge me.
I've never really had any friends because most are afraid of me.. Even though I would love some. I can be very happy and cheerful, even being on my own, and I love to swim. Swimming is practically my life.
