Name: Eye of the Storm (Naira)
Age: 3 yrs
Gender:Female
Height:14.6 hh
Why She is Blind: Naira was born in a storm, and she had eyes to match. No one was ever quite sure what colour they really were. Sometimes they were blue-grey, or silver, or dark grey, or almost green. But when the sun shone at the right angle, Naira's eyes were grey with flecks of gold and green and blue that danced like lightning and rain. One day she had a run-in with a barbed wire fence and was severely injured. Two of her legs were broken as she thrashed, digging the wire deeper into her hide. The vet said she would have to be put down, or she could be sent to a special horse clinic. Her owners chose the clinic in hopes that she would be a show horse when she grew up. The clinic healed her, and the vets there were kind and gentle. One day she was mooved into a basement room and into a cage. She was mostly healed, just a tad bit wobbly. That day was when the testing began. They tested hair products and medecines on her, and she grew too weak to fight anymore. One day a bit of shampoo got in her left eye. It burned and stung, and the next morning when Naira awoke, her left eye was dim. This happened several more times until eventually, the sight in her left eye was gone. The 'clinic' was eventually busted for animal testing, and Naira returned to her home. Her coat was dull and all the fight had gone out of her. Well, not quite all - one night there was a legendary storm, and all of the horses were put in the stable. She had not liked being indoors since she returned to her home, and so she somehow managed to get out of the stable and she ran off into the storm. No one knows what happened that night, but that was the night the fire came back into her one good eye, and she was born again in a storm.
I have been on (unintentional) hiatus lately. I'm struggling right now with massive amounts of homework, miserable schooldays, and massive art block (I've had it for about a month now :C ). I'm really sorry, but any orders are going to be veery slow right now! I'm anduin., might be changing my username a bit this month

Name: Wapasha
Age: 5 years
Gender:Female
Height:14.6 hh
Why She is Blind: When Wapasha was a yearling. She did nothing but explore her world after she'd left the protective side of her mother and went out on her own. Being the young yet reckless free spirit that she was. The day she came across a mess of littered barbed wire that was left behind along with some rotted wood from a fence that had been taken down. She thought it was just a strangely colored briar patch. However, it was the metallic sparkle of barbwire that dew her too close to the dangerous prickled wire. She took a step too close and a old piece of wood snapped, catapulting a strand of wire to swing out towards her face. In turn, she reared her face up only to have her site partially stripped from her left eye as the wire punctured her cornea. After the rather unlucky incident. She learned to cope with it and gained a greater use of her hearing. Not only did she adapt to her disability. She knows the difference between barbed wire and a briar patch. Now, with her one smoky blue eye matched with an electrifying emerald green one. She's a cautions mare when it come to studying something new. She keeps her distance from it until she deems its safe.

Why She is Blind:(must include something about barbwire) When she was a yearling she was running around in the woods havin fun, then all of a sudden she got tangled in this evil wire wrap around her puctioning her legs. She was whinning for help an no one was answering. A few hours later when it started to get dark she sees a light an some humans appear! She tried to wiggle an break free but it only made it worst so she just laid there. Then the humans saw her just Laying there, so they grabbed some pliers an started cutting her free. One of the coils shot up like a spring an nicked her in the eye a little. She whinnied in pain. After a few more wires were cut an moved away the human looked at all her wounds an decided there was no way she would survive without medicine an vet. So they took her in. She wakes up in a tiny stall in a sling to hold her up, and she can only see from her right eye. She feels safe where she's at, she looks at all the bandages around her legs covering her sores from the barbed wire. After being in the sling for a week the humans gently unbandage everything an put her in this tiny pasture all by herself. She is very lame in her right hind leg, but it doesn't give her any pain. The humans admire her Flaming Purple(red near the pupil that fades out into a dark purple) eyes. They decided to name her Fury.

Name: Adelaide
Age: 6 years
Gender: Female
Height:14.6 hh
Why She is Blind: Adelaide is said to be of noble birth, but she doesn't tell anyone if this is true. But she'll tell you the story of how she became blind, for it all happened one unlucky day. She was walking in the forest as usual, gazing at the beauty of it all with her lovely gold and dark teal bi-colored eyes. Everything was beautiful, was peaceful, but it was so cliché, things going wrong just at the moment of peace. She was entrapped in sharp wire within seconds, heaving no clue what happened. But it took her herd hours to set her free, but by then it was too late for her left eye, which she would learn, to her dismay, she would never see out of again.

Name: Lacrymosa (pronounced: La-cree-mo-sa)
Age: 3
Gender:Female
Height:14.6 hh
Why She is Blind:
It wasn't supposed to be difficult, living on the mountain rocks. Cry However, when Cry thought she saw a stranger stallion in her territory, she trailed after him. He would turn every now and again to look at her and smile gently, a smile which made it's way to her heart. After several days, she got closer to him, and it began to rain. As she got distracted by the sharp rocks and slippery terrain, he disappear, forcing her to speed up. That was when she missed a footing, and her hoof got into a crack in the rocks. Cry panicked, she reared, but the hoof kept her down, and she tried to kick. She lost her balance, and as she fell, her eye widened for it was headed right into the cracks of the rock. Without balance, she was unable to prevent the misfortune that occurred next, as intense pain shot through her mind and her consciousness was lost. Three days later, the mare was seen, limping, bloody, and bruised. A red eye glared in hatred, and the other blue yet crimson while stained with blood. She left the canyon now a different person, with her heart wrapped and guarded by sharp barbed wires, preventing anyone else from stealing it. And Cry lives on...

Name: Alana
Age: 5
Gender:Female
Height:14.6 hh
Why She is Blind:
Being born on a farm, this beautiful young mare has always been calm, gentle and of course; tame. So nobody expected the day to come when lovely lilic-eyed Alana attempted to run free. Her father had been a wild caught stallion and she had heard so much about the days of running free with the herd and enjoying the sweet wild grasses. So when she was 2 years old, Alana got it in her mind that she could escape and find her wild counterparts. She waited until the evening, and bolted when the farmhands brought in the nighttime meal. Leaping over those who threw ropes to catch her, and racing down the driveway, she nearly made it to the base of a mountain, until she met a trench that was made to act as a natural rainwater drain. Alana backed up, and charged for the leap. Alas, her hoof was caught in a loop of barbed wire that had been set up to keep anyone from falling into the trench. She fell into the mud, hitting her face with traumatic force and hung there until her humans found her early in the morning.
haitus until September 20th

Why She is Blind: There. A flicker of movement. Nothing more than a small shadow on the dappled ground in front of her, a quiver in the breeze. The young mare paused, snorted in alarm. Something was not right. An instant later a heavy weight settled on her back, needle claws pricking into her skin. Delicate green eyes rolled, showing the whites, a sharp whinny of fear escaped her as she bolted; knowing nothing but the word away away away that pounded inside her head to the rhythm of her drumming hooves. She felt the threatening weight of the cougar slip from her haunches, trailing ruddy streaks across her fur, but she ran blindly on. Thin, snaky lines of bronze appeared in front of her, screaming with the color of man, of danger. Still, she could not stop, and with the cougar a few inches behind she leapt in a desperate attempt to get away. A brand of searing fire whipped across her face and left eye, shrieking in pain she stumbled and fell. The cougar yowled its' defeat. She stood up on shaking legs, turning her head wide to see behind her. One eye throbbed, but she had lived another day.

Why She is Blind: Sara was travelling with her fellow Equids but by that time humans discovered her kind and they were very demanded, so they were often chased. This happened again as well, and she had her younger sister by her side while her mother was away giving birth to their new sibling. They were chased right into a barbwire, many equids didn't notice it and ran into it, and Sara's sister was heading there as well, and there was no way to get her change her path. So Sara jumped ahead of her sister, saving her from dying on the wire, but her sacrifice cost her her beautiful midnight blue eye.

Name: Hisano
Age: 3
Gender:Female
Height:14.6 hh
Why She is Blind: From the tender age of a year Hisano always knew something was wrong, her herd was famous for producing colts and fillies with eyes as blue as the sparkling sea, or eyes greener than the rolling hills they lived in. Her dam, unknown to anyone else, had mated with a stallion that had once roamed the hills, strong and quick with a bright bay coat that glistened under the sunlight. So when her little filly was born the herd was caught in a state of shock at the deep, creamy brown eyes that she possessed. Constantly the other yearlings of the group would tease and bully her and no matter what her mother said she found it more and more disheartening each day. As they aged, Hisano grew into a stunning young filly and her brown eyes suited her perfectly, until the teasing from the other youngsters grew out of hand, they chased her with taunts and threats and as she ran with her head looking over her shoulder she reached the beginning of a paddock. The fluffy white sheep scattered as she crashed into the fence, barbed wire tangling over her head and causing searing pain. The other equids left her alone from that day, but their bullying remains scarred where one of the creamy brown eyes used to lay.

Name: HW I Am Braveheart ((Brave))
Age: 8
Gender:Female
Height:14.6 hh
Why She is Blind:(must include something about barbwire) Brave has a long line of history behind her. She was bred from the best of the best WMEs, so when she was born she was expected to achieve and do amazing things like her ancestors. Brave was always the kind of curious foal; sneaking into places she didn't belong, sticking her nose in this badger hole or something other. Everyone found her the biggest sweetheart though. She wouldn't care to hurt anyone or bother anything else. As she grew older, she began to be more quiet and calmer than usual. When Brave was about a year old or so, a scream erupted from the other side of the pasture. This wasn't one of those playful screams that horses do towards each when rough playing. This was blood curdling, one that made you want to shiver. The small mare walked her way back up to the stable, head hung low. Blood fell in small droplets from the end of her nose and barbed wire was wrapped all around her, cuts all over her once shining coat. After removing the wiring, that was when everyone realized it was do or die. Put the filly to sleep, or let her suffer. They decided to give her another chance at life, but this time everything would be different. After multiple occasions of Brave bumping into the fence post of running into the water bucket, we realized she was partially blind. She wasn't scared the least bit. She learned to adapt to it and after years, she memorized the pasture she grew up in.
