Why the Name?
I used to ride a horse named Topaz who I loved dearly as if she was my own and rode for ten to eleven years. She was the first horse I ever rode, shown on, and loved. She was stubborn yet kind and knew how to put someone in their place. She was my big girl. She won me tons of first place ribbons and helped me win my trophy for my league. She was my buddy and helped cheer me up on days I just needed a little boost. She did accidently make me fall off quite a few times but she always raced back over to check if I was alright. She passed away a few years ago though and this pretty mare reminds me of her greatly.

Favorite Things
Topaz has the love of the colors orange and green. She loves the way the two go together greatly for some patterns such as camouflage. She also has a favorite season which s the lovely autumn. Now her favorite food of course is the casual grain. She's always loved that. Now her favorite treats are carrots and sugar cubes. She loves the flavors of them and the sweetness buried in both. Her favorite month is the month of December for one reason only: Christmas! Topaz has always loved Christmas ever since a young filly. She has enjoyed opening presents in the stable with Carly and her friends. She's always been rewarded with treats and Santa hats for her or reindeer antlers along with a red nose to be Rudolph the Red Nosed Horse. Now her favorite number is probably number one. She's always liked the way you say it and the fact it means winner. Lastly, Topaz has the love of the quote 'Don't look back, leave it all on the track' from Racing Stripes the movie. She loves the way how it's telling you to keep moving forward and not to dwell on the past.

Topaz is as anyone can tell, a sweetheart at times. She's gentle with children and takes her time with adults who are slower than others. She won't kick, rear, or buck. She does though have a stubborn and ignorant side when she's pushed around. She's not afraid to nip or bite at your shirt or pants leg. She's independent as well and wants to do as she pleases if she's in a mood. She keeps herself in control though if a child or less experienced rider is riding her. She tries her best to do as she's told but when something sets her off she's quite a handful.
~Topaz, the horse I mentioned above who I rode, had the exact same personality cx She was hard to deal with at times but it was worth it to be with such a beauty. She used to nip my braided hair, my shoulders, shirt, anything she could find whenever she decided to be in a crabby mood. She liked to take control when she got moody as well, mostly in the summer she was moody. She was really old though when I rode her so it explains why she got crabby. Very intelligent horse though.~

History
A Cave Full of Gems was born on November 19th at 9:49pm to sire, Polishing Gems, and dam, Silent Caverns. She was born on a small farm in southern North Carolina to a farmer and his small family. She took on the name Topaz from her birthstone and for her eyes shined like the beautiful gem. She was quite the burst of energy and loved to be the center of attention. She enjoyed playing around with other foals her age and loved to prance around. She grew into a fine young filly and was trained well. She was sold to a farm down in Tennessee to a young woman who was starting her career as a horse trainer. Topaz, at the age of two, had been taken in eagerly and was used as her horse for a year before using her and some other horses to train children and adults. Things though got tough a few months later when the young woman couldn't afford to care for some of her horses, one being Topaz. The mare was given to a young girl by the name of Carly, the woman's niece, at the age of five at the time to take her in. The girl's family graciously took Topaz in and let Carly use the mare as her own horse. Topaz was used in lead-lining shows when Carly was still young enough to be in them along with the county fair's showings. As Carly got older, they stepped it up and moved farther into the leagues, ending at jumping. Topaz won the girl many ribbons and trophies and still does today.

Discipline
Topaz is in the English discipline and being used in show jumping with her rider Carly. She's quite a star despite her age.

He's kind and sweet along with a quiet nature. He and Topaz pulled a carriage side by side at a parade and the two horses started pulling carriages together from there forward.

Personality: Azkadee is smart, very smart. And she knows it! She can be a real trouble-maker at times, but she's also a sweetie. She loves to cuddle and frankly, just be around people; she hates being cooped up and alone. Azkadee loves to play little tricks too, like stealing halters and brushes from the tack-room and apples from the basket on the windowsill of the house. She won't eat them though, just hide them somewhere clever, like in my helmet or the empty feed bag.
History: Azkadee was born on a quaint little ranch in the middle of nowhere. She had a happy, normal foalhood; playing with the other foals in her paddock and learning about the world. Then everything changed forever. A rogue storm his the ranch, and the horses were let loose so that their instinct could take over and keep them safe. Everything would have been fine had the ranchers started their search for the horses just another mile south...Az and her mother were captured by strangers, rough horse wranglers who were only interested in the money; they treated their horses terribly. Her mother did her best to protect Az, but it was not enough. Az was almost two - almost old enough to "earn her keep" - and the wranglers knew it. They yanked her from her mother's side in the early morning, and put her with the other young horses. That's when it changed Azkadee's life forever. She turned sour, hating everything; she was so bad the ranchers couldn't even get close enough to break her. Not wanting to waste money on "a lost cause", they turned her lose. Az wandered the wilderness for about a month before I found her. She was wild; so wild I had no clue she was born and raised(at least partially) on a ranch. But, with a lot of care and kindness, I eventually gained her trust. Now, she's fine around people and actually hates being alone. Every once in a while her mean streak will re-surface, but those instances are few and far between.
Discipline: Western Pleasure - she preforms in barrel racing, herding, roping and impressive "hands-off" tricks. That's what I hope to be doing with her anyway ;3

Stable-mates: Rose's Golden Glory and Dark of the Moon
Relationships: Allons-y - Azkadee keeps trying to involve Allons-y in her trickery, but Allons-y is too young and "pure" to get swept up in it. She'll participate once in a while, but doesn't really get what's happening and would rather be exploring.
Jazz - Az and Jazz share the same paddock, so they get along well. In fact, it's not a rare sight to see Jazz helping Azkadee with her pranks and tricks. Not only do these two look great when working in the ring together(with their contrasting coats), and have rhyming names, but they seem "complete" each other - almost as if they could read one another's thoughts.
Plans: I will love her, and squeeze her and rub her fur the wrong way xD

Personality and a bit about Willow:
Willow is more on the quiet side. She is very calm and easy going. She enjoys her discipline of Western Trail. When she is not busy training or at an event, she spends most of her time trail riding. She often takes groups of people on horses through the forest and meadows. Every once in a while she will take people through the same trail on a carriage with another horse. Willow also volunteers at a local animal shelter and veterinarians. She acts as a therapy horse for the people who are nervously waiting for their pets after a surgery or other procedure. She also plays with the children while they wait for their pets if their getting a check up and is even used to get cats or dogs used to being with other animals if they need it. She also enjoys just grazing in her pasture and relaxing.

Discipline:
Willows discipline is Western Trail.

History:
Willow was actually a rescue. We found her injured in the forest on a trail riding session when she was a foal. We had two tour guides that day, Meghan and Alison. Alison stayed with the group and carried on with the tour. Meghan stayed behind with the foal. She called in to the ranch for help. The veterinarian team, along with a few of the ranch workers came. Meghan was a full veterinarian and Alison was a veterinarian technician, but everyone took turns giving trail rides to visitors. The vets, including Meghan, looked her over, and clarified that the foal had not bite marks or scratches from other animals. Her left back leg had been caught in a fox trap, which was also illegal since the forest was protected because of the trail rides and wild horses. Luckily, it wasn't to bad, her hoof had protected her from most of the horrible scratches, but she had broken her ankle. The team put her onto the sled they had brought to carry her back on and made a rap around her leg. When they got back the veterinarians immediately took the foal into the medical rooms. The ranch workers reported the illegal fox trap and the rangers came to put an outdoor security camera where the Fox trap had been to try and figure out who put it there. The vets announced that the foal was ok, and that it would have to wear a cast for a while. They also announced that the foal was a Filly, and they decided to name her Willow, since she was found under a willow tree in the forest. They then took her to a foster mother since she was only about 4 months old and was still nursing. Willow was ok with her cast, but she didn't like to sit still. She soon learned she would have to at times in order for her leg to heal. By the time willows cast was taken off, she was a large filly, almost 11 months old. She started to go out in the forest with a guide at 12 months old. She soon started her training for western trail, which the staff thought would suit her, at about 18 months old. She started trail riding and volunteering at the shelter at about 2 years old. She went through a therapy horse class so she could be a therapy horse at the shelter. She was a full grown horse. She has been doing great ever since.

Well I think I would pair her with my beautiful stallion, Wave. He would be perfect for her. He is very calm and easy going, but likes to have fun to. I'm sure they would be like best friends.

Best Friends:
Willows best friends would have to be Meghan and Alison. She enjoys their company and has a great bond with them. Her best animal friend would have to be El-Eclipse, my beautiful mare. She loves all of the animals at the shelter and enjoys being with the other horses at the ranch of course to.

Personality: Time is pretty open to everything. She has the ability to adapt to whatever time throws at her, as many times in her life she has needed to adapt, so she's gotten used to it. She has been easy to train because she is quite find of humans, and even though they caused her memory loss, they tried their hardest to fix it. At times, Time can be quite vulnerable, so you have to take it easy when introducing her to something like a bridle/saddle.
Many humans consider her fragile, and many consider her not sturdy enough, but she is stronger inside than you'd think. She excels in dressage, and is a bright contestor for a spot in a dressage team. Promise is always an optimist, she never knows what will happen in the future, even though her past is gone.
Time is very time dependent. believe it or not, and she often uses times of the day for different purposes. She also relies heavily on the future, because she has high hopes.

History: Born where time meets - on the night of the 31st December, in a small cave by a raging waterfall, Time was a pretty normal foal. She and her mother were brought back in from their winter break on the range. A

year later, when she was being floated to the place she would be growing up, time almost froze as her trailer became involved in an accident. Both her and her mother survived, but her fragile body came away with a massive scar on her head, creating the second 'branch' on her forehead. Time suffered huge memory loss, but no vet could fix it. When she had arrived at the farm, she was a clean slate. Her mother managed to convince her that she was her foal, but other than that, Promise could remember nothing. She made friends with Caelum, and was trained under the saddle. Until, a discovery changed her mind forever..
Story: I don't really remember being born. I don't really remember anything really. My mind reset as I arrived at a new farm. I made a few new friends, but to this story, that isn't really necessary. It started when I was trained under the saddle. This was all new to me, and as much as I was terrified, my owners took me through it slowly, getting me used to the saddle and bridle before riding me. The first time the bit was in my mouth, I was completely and utterly terrified, so my owners switched to a bit-less bridle. But when I had gone through enough training, my rider took me on a ride

that changed everything. It started out normally. It was the first time I had been on a ride. My owner put me through my paces, and in the end I was exhausted and thirsty, so we rode to the river. But my eyes caught on something. A waterfall. Like where I was born. My memories came flooding back, of when I was born, of how my life was until the crash. The clouds of my past lifted. You can't make a future if you don't have a past.
Story 2: I had been called to work with a little dressage mare, so that morning, I had to wake up earlier than usual. I was waiting for a very early trailer delivery, as I was going to be training her for the next few years. I sat and waited on the porch, but nothing came. I went inside and made breakfast, and as the sun began to rise I switched the news on.



Breaking news. There has been a car accident involving 2 cars and a trailer. No one is hurt, and the mess is being cleaned up. The owner of the trailer and horse inside are continuing to their destination, as the car is not damaged, but it is said that the mare has serious head injuries and will be attended to when they arrive.



I freaked. She was injured! I had spent years at vet school, so I knew what to do, but I was still in shock. I could hear the car rumble down the drive way, and I ran out with my vet kit. The filly was taken out, her cut blindingly obvious. It will take some time to heal..

One year later.
I grabbed the bitless bridle and bridled Time, chucking a saddle blanket on and following with a dressage saddle. I tightened the girth and mounted, careful not to spook Time. She had only been working under the saddle for a few weeks, so she was fresh and excited. I squeezed her on, and she darted into a trot straight away. Riding a green horse is different, they need very clear aids. I pushed her onto the outside track and kept trotting.

Time moved with great flexibility, and I laughed as she tossed her head, snorting. I knew she would be a great dressage horse in the future. Time will tell.

Why I Want Her: Teresa, she is like the most perfect horse ever. My form might be small, but I put great care into making her art, and tried to use all the techniques I know to make her look perfect. I might not have a million words in this form, and trust me I would if I had the time. I tried to put quality into my words instead. I think this horse has a strong meaning to us all, so I thought it would be relevant to name her after it. CWHR has come so far in so little time, but time tells all. I love how she has no line edits because she brigs back old time, making us realize how important it is to our future.
What I Would Do With Her: If I won Time, I would make her a public broodmare, open to everyone who wants a gorgeous foal out of her. I she is so perfect for art, because she is simple but beautiful, making her a perfect candidate for my art practice/improvement. I just love her sooooo much, and it would be really awesome if I won her, because I plan to put her back into the community.
