Korban loves Carbon because to him, it's the base of life. Carbon has a big part in making up Carbon Dioxide(CO2), which allows plants to breath. After inhaling the CO2, those plants release oxygen - which is needed to feed any living creature's lungs and in turn, these creatures release CO2 back into the air to allow the cycle to start again.

So without Carbon, none of us would be alive and breathing. Because without Carbon, we wouldn't have CO2. And without CO2, we wouldn't have oxygen. And if we didn't have oxygen, we wouldn't have life.
