----Hallelujah. This word is uttered in rejoice or worship. Since her name is a little too long for some, it can be shortened to "Holly".

▰ history::

----Hallelujah isn't sure where she was born, because her parents were nomads. They were always travelling, and they vowed to never settle anywhere. Her parents are skilled in fishing, farming, and other basic trades.
----She had only one sibling. An older brother, named Kilijo. Holly hates him because she and him constantly had disputes over even the most minor things, like who's book that was, or who ate what of theirs, etc, etc. It seemed silly to everyone else at the time, but their conflicts were never resolved, so it is unlikely they will ever want to see each other again.
----After she turned sixteen, her parents gave her the choice to live on her own and settle somewhere, or keep travelling (with them or by herself). She was scared to death of being by herself, so she wanted to stay with them until she was eighteen.
----This was around the time where she discovered her gender identity. She felt extreme disphoria over being referred to as a "he". So, she talked to her parents about it. They were very open and approachable folk, and once she told them how she felt, they told her as much as they knew about gender identity. After trying out she/her pronouns, she realized she was very comfortable with it. It made her happy, but she did experience some discrimination from people she met on her travels with her parents.
----Once she turned eighteen, she settled down in an apartment. The apartment mysteriously had no wear and tear. She'd wondered about this for weeks after moving in, but soon found out why nobody wanted to live there for long.
----The place was haunted.
----She knew it because doors slammed shut, messages in a language she didn't know were scrawled on the walls in crayon, things were spilled on the floors... and she lived alone.
----Hallelujah had always been an atheist and didn't have any religious beliefs, but she was so scared that she prayed for help from whatever god there was, if any. Soon enough, her prayers were answered. A wish-granting deity rid her home of the spirits inhabiting it, but in exchange, they wanted a shrine dedicated to them. And that's why Holly has a shrine in hidden in her home.
----Years after her experience with creatures with the other side, her brother moved into the same apartment building as hers. Oh no... Since she found out about this, she's been paranoid he'll find out where she lives and discover her shrine.
