Light flickers, dancing from among scarlet-red leaves. The wind teases them, making them flirt about, though below the treetops, all is still. Mist drifts from the forest path. Where it reaches high enough to catch the breeze, its edges curl. The sun can be seen beyond the edge of the forest; within, it is only light playing patterns on mist. The tree trunks are massive and silvery, their bark smooth as glass. Surely trees like this can't be real? The mist entices to come in- further, further! There is so much forest. At the crystalline roots, more crimson leaves have piled, their edges browning and rustling against one another. Mist curls around, but it does not feel cold or clammy- only curious.
A stray finger of light pierces the mist, then disappears. Was that sound only wind, or is there something more? The forest is watching, but not maliciously- inquisitively, even innocently. Again, that strand of light, that sound that is almost wind but isn't. A shape spins in the treetops- the breeze in the leaves? Or something alive? Or neither... The shape darts closer, investigating, but it is still unclear. It has the same curious child's watching that the forest does. The fleet-footed creature dances through the treetops, clearly at home. It is slower, now, though, approaching with care. Green eyes watch, both afraid and in wonder, as the watcher in the forest steps out- a tiny ghost, scales the colour of the leaves.
Art: I'll do some if I have time- it's a tight week, though, I'm not sure there will be.
