An Astraline is a celestial being. They take on the form of a canine most resembling a fox or domesticated dog. Instead of a tail, they have a star. The older they get, the bigger the star gets and brighter the nebulae it produces. A few more distinguishing features are a bright, nebulaeic mane and a characteristic star marking on their foreheads. Astralines are typically always bright in color. Their nebulae is generally two or more colors, pulsating and intertwining at all times. They are generally peaceful creatures, but if provoked, no one truly knows their powers to the fullest extent.

He has some strange speaking habits.
◘ surfing obsession
He talks with himself quite often. Not the normal, talking-to-myself-about-my-day-or-whatever, either. While he does do this, it's much more common for Mazu to carry out a full conversation with himself. Often times when he's talking to himself he gets into arguments. This has caused him to discover that he can be quite the butthole sometimes.
Adding to the previous quirk, Mazu often talks to himself in radio speak. He'll be making a sandwich for himself and saying things like, "Alpha bravo charlie, come in. Over. Alpha bravo charlie reporting in, over. Alpha bravo charlie, making a sandwich, prepare to eat in t-10 seconds. Over. Alpha bravo charlie, roger that, standing by. Over." This habit originally started as him speaking radio talk with his father to help him with his PTSD. However, it's a habit that just kind of stuck with Mazu through the years.Mazu is beyond obsessed with surfing.
◘ tree obsession
Mazu has been surfing nearly as long as he could stand up. He's always lived near a beach, so it's just been something to occupy himself when he's at the beach. No matter how many times he goes out to catch a wave, he never gets bored of surfing. It's never the same feeling. Sometimes being completely surrounded by a wave makes Mazu feel peaceful and calm. Other times it gives him a rush, a thrill that compares to no other. When he's being encased in that wave, he's not thinking about bills or loss or anything. He's simply free.Mazu loves trees.
◘ collections
A lot. They're so amazing in his eyes. He likes the way they look. He likes the way they feel. He likes sleeping in them. He likes sitting in them. Mazu just likes being around trees. Something about them makes him really happy and puts him in a very, very good mood. He especially loves very old trees. His favorite trees are old knotted oak and willow trees. For some reason those just look so magical to him, and he could spend all day photographing them.He collects many different things.
◘ mythology nut
Mazu has several collections, which often leads to his friends calling him a hoarder. He doesn't hoard things, though; he merely keeps interesting things for his collections. One of the things he hoards are bits of coral that wash up on shore and a few select (very awesome) seashells. He loves the way they look and since he's lived near a beach for quite some time now, these things are easy to come by.
Mazu also collects books. Generally, he tries to find old books and keeps them for his collection. However, he also enjoys buying large books and making 3D book carvings out of them. The last collection of Mazu's is his button collection. Again, he prefers to find very old, unique buttons. He can frequently be found wearing necklaces made of these buttons, and they decorate his home.Mazu loves mythology.
Greek mythology, Egyptian mythology, Chinese mythology, Finnish mythology. It doesn't matter at all. He loves every type of mythology and finds them all interesting. His father used to read him mythology books when he was little, so that's a large reason Mazu loves mythology so much. He finds mythology involving mermaids and the Greek underworld to be especially interesting. He has many books on mythology in his book collection and frequently reads them, even if he's read them before.
