Welp it's time for me to do this. As much as I love this JBD I realize he needs a better home so I've come to this decision! This precious child will go UFA but for non-owners and owners with only 1 JBD ONLY! The rules for this competition are simple! Just give them a new personality! Extras are optional but limited. Only one writing extra (500 words max) and 2 others of your choice. Edit: If you chose to do only art that's fine. You can only have 3 extras for art (the third will replace the writing slot) but overall you only have three extras. Make sure to make them count! Personality:

Adelina, also called Addy and Lin, is a kind and caring JBD. She enjoys sleeping and being petted, and is courteous towards others, rarely causing fights. She refuses to risk anything unless it is utterly unavoidable, or is in the case of close friends and family. Sometimes she will get curious towards various things, though she is very observant of other people when they are a distance away, as she is very socially confined. She is quite nurturing and loyal, and is incredibly trustworthy towards all people that she knows well. She does, though, act very mysterious around people and places she doesn't know if she isn't avoiding them altogether.

On the topic of how she acts with people she knows well, Lin is incredibly affectionate. She is an optimist, albeit one of those optimists that tend to get annoying about any kind of pessimism. She is unbelievably sympathetic and unselfish, easily willing to, despite her anti-daredevil nature, risk everything for the ones she cares about. She has a bland romance life, as she has no romantic side whatsoever, and almost never flirts. In light of this, she is willing to love, but is extremely picky about whom.

He's a recluse who loves to observe | saddened | quiet | listener | stubborn | contemplative | sensitive

Saddened
Eilir isn't happy very often and it's a rare occurrence to catch him smiling. Only certain things make him happy like a good book or the smell of wet grass or the soft booming of thunder off in the distance. He doesn't frown either though. He doesn't like getting angry as, during the uncommon times he does get angry, it tires him out quickly. His sadness comes from a mix of all his fears and all his regrets and the opportunities he missed with his family when growing up combined to form this state in which he doesn't know what to do with himself and therefore, he becomes miserable.

Quiet
Noise is annoying. Eilir even thinks the sound of his own voice is annoying the world doesn't deserve the terrible addition of his voice. So, he keeps quiet and doesn't say much of anything and if he does, it's always uttered under his breathe in a low whisper and it takes someone with keen ears to hear what he says or else it just sounds like he's muttering gibberish. Most times, he goes for so long without saying anything that when he finally does say something, his voice cracks and splinters like wood would. After all, he knows that silence is the loudest scream.

Listener
Along with being quiet, Eilir loves to listen. He listens and listens and listens to everything to point that he's aware of what's happening even when it's completely dark or if he can't see what's going on (let's say he's behind a corner and can't look around). Even so, he can tell if someone, and knows exactly who is approaching, just by listening to their paw-steps. He knows what everything sounds like, the rustle of the trees when it's windy or maybe the patter of rain on the leaves. The sounds of doors slamming, the sounds of things being plugged in, the sounds of things being turned on and off, the sounds of books closing, the sounds of pages being turned, the sounds of papers being crumpled or ripped. All sounds. He knows. And if you're lucky enough to even be close to him, Eilir will listen to your problems and doubts and struggles and he will really listen.

Stubborn
He's a silent rebel who hates to be forced against his will do or say things he doesn't want to. If asked to do so, or say so, something he finds that he doesn't, he'll put his foot down and won't budge. He does what he wants, but doesn't throw fits about it. It's just his own rebellion when he finds ways to make everything work for himself, although he does care about others' feelings and point of views even though it may not seem like it.

Contemplative
Eilir thinks a whole lot, especially after he's read a book. His books are almost always about fantastical worlds that aren't in reality. It's his escape from the real, mad world and each time he finishes a fantasy book, he thinks and thinks about it for days on end. He'll close his eyes and imagine what it would be like to live in that world instead of this world. Through all the things that happens in his books, Eilir has even learned the social issues that occur and has thought up his own solutions for the world's problems, but it can never be shared because of his shutting away from the outside of his treehouse.

Sensitive
Crying happens almost 100% of the time for Eilir. He may be stubborn, but he isn't very tough. There's a difference. The simplest, most smallest, most petty things can send him over the edge and plummeting into a waterfall of tears and once he goes there, he can't stop for a while. Crying is always something that's a daily occurrence foe him, it's routine for him to cry at least twice each day.

The premise
Honestly, Eilir doesn't interact much with the members of his family, it's rather sad. The only members of his family who have truly interacted with him are his parents, Red and Midna. He found that he didn't want to talk to any of them and had decided to ignore them all if any wanted to try conversing with him making himself seem cold and unkind towards his family. But, he's really just a somewhat middle child who doesn't take the situation at hand very well. He's a bit spoiled and has a terrible attitude towards it all, so his siblings choose to just leave him alone and they've only ever communicated when it's downright necessary. However, Eilir doesn't even know all that much about his siblings at all. During the course of his lifetime, Eilir has tried running away multiple times and has always been caught by Red and dragged back to the house with stern warnings. Because of Eilir's daily run-aways, Red has grown to understand Eilir's twisted motives and complicated mixture of thoughts that she found that he sought isolation and seclusion. It was Red who found out that her son wanted to shut himself away from the world. So, she had badgered Eilir to tell her what was going on and he requested for his own room to be a treehouse, completely separated from the house. With the help of Midna, both his parents accepted his internal struggles and accompanied him as he tearfully built his own treehouse. Eilir is shut away from the rest of his family except Red and Midna since they visit him often and never give up trying to coax him out and break his disinterestedness to communication. They never give up on their boy and Eilir doesn't seem to recognize the hardships he's causing for them, although, both parents hope he'll mature and realize this sooner than later before it'll be too late.

What would I do without you . . .
Phenex (best friend)
The premise
It's sad to say that Eilir knows more about Phenex than he does about his own siblings. He probably knows everything there is to know about her, to be honest and it's the same for her to him. They know each other so well. Since the day that Eilir had fallen from his treehouse sanctuary and landed at the feet of Phenex, they had become friends. Of course, Eilir didn't speak at first, he was too shocked and, of course, hated conversing, especially to strangers. But, Phenex had helped him up and he brought her up to his treehouse where they discovered that they had the same interests, especially in books. Not even Red or Midna have been able to pull out of Eilir his real self. He's really his actual self when he's around Phenex. Often times they end up discussing books and telling each other their theories while Eilir mostly listens to Phenex talking. He and Phenex also find it extremely helpful when they are able to vent about their problems to each other as well. They've bonded so well together that Red and Midna have spoken to Phenex and have agreed that they trust in her to bring Eilir back to the light of reality and help him enter the world in the best way possible since Eilir even refuses to go to school and has inevitably ended up trying to teach himself by reading textbooks that Phenex has brought up to his treehouse for him so she can attempt at educating him.

Writing:
What’s in Eilir’s pouch? Well, for starters, he’s got his library card in there. He’d requested Red and Midna to get one for him since he goes there a lot to retrieve new books for reading and such. His pouch also contains an almost dried up highlighter which isn’t its bright and vibrant yellow self anymore. It’s more like a faded pastel yellow that Eilir still uses to scrawl over the words on some of the books he buys from the clearance sales at the library. Along with his trusty highlighter, he’s got a mini dictionary tucked inside his pouch for words he comes across that he doesn’t know very well. Then, there’s the small ziploc bag of cough drops that Eilir keeps secured in his pouch at all times since he often gets sick easily and refuses for his parents to come help him in his treehouse. He even has hand sanitizer in his pouch to avoid getting sick as best he can since he knows how hard it is to get himself better again without the care of his parents. Then, lastly, there’s his earplugs that he doesn’t even use for music since he doesn’t like listening to music, but instead for drowning out all noise because he loves the peace and quiet.
