Amaya, a Japanese name meaning night rain - Chosen for her dark colors and connection to water.

.:.Gender.:.
Female

.:.Relationship with water.:.
Like most of her species, Amaya thrives in warm, humid, watery environments.
Several summers ago, her egg was found abandoned by the owner of an Asian buffet in southern Maine - Rather odd, given the cool winters in the area. It had been much warmer than usual lately, and so it seemed to be alive and relatively unharmed, so naturally he picked it up and went off in search of the egg's owner. He found none, of course - The best guess anyone could give was a family that had moved away a day or two prior who owned a pair of mated pseudos who might have lost it during the move.
After a bit of debating about what to do, the man ultimately decided to keep it. The egg hatched not too long after, and he often brought her to his restaurant with him, not wanting to leave her alone, lest she wind up slipping away out the window and getting lost outside. She spent much of her childhood in the buffet's little pond, playing with the turtle and the fish - And splashing the small children that come over to look at them, too!

.:.Life after the buffet.:.
Needless to say, parents were not especially pleased with their kids getting soaked by the little lizard, and the man was forced to choose between his restaurant and the little pseudodragon. In the end, he chose to give her up to one of his employees. Things got a bit chaotic from there, however, when her pet cat started fighting with the little pseudo. She brought her back, and she wound up passing hands for a while for one reason or another, before ending up with a regular customer named Karen. By this time it was late December, and the woman, knowing how her close friend's daughter loved strange creatures like these - And had quite a few odd 'friends' (She refused to call them pets) like them - decided to give her to the young teen as a Christmas gift. When the girl opened the sopping wet little box and found the pseudodragon swimming around in a little bowl of warm water, she was thrilled to bits. She was quickly named Amaya, and has lived there with her ever since.
