I am interested in adopting you and making you a member of my family. I'd love to include you in my roleplays, as well as make and order art of
you, if that's alright. I feel that you'd be very welcome and loved in my care, so I feel that you'd be
a great choice to include in my wonderful family. You have a beautiful name. Might I ask for more information about yourself?
I'd love to get to know you better, Kanalli.
You may call me Kana or Nalli, if you'd like. Thank you, my name originates from India, and is the
feminine form of the name Kanal, meaning "shining". My mother named me Kanalli, for the night I was born, my mother made a wish
for my father's safety, and for hope, in the upcoming battle. When I was young, she called me her "shining hope". I hold that name
with pride. I am one to enjoy the smaller things in life, instead of the bigger things. I love
sitting by the water and watching my reflection as I swirl my paw through the water. Aside from
that, and swimming, I have a love for hunting. I don't always kill the prey, for I don't want to kill
more than necessary. I collect a few things, discretely, of course. Feathers and small bones are a
few of my collection, as well as a new collection I have, due to being introduced to human objects. That would be bells. Others
have told me that bells are a common love of felines, but I am no ordinary feline. I came from a pride, in
the deserts of Africa. I am currently 4 years old-- old enough to leave my pride.
As a female lioness, my purpose in a pride was to hunt and watch over the pride when
required. Despite no longer being in a pride, I guarantee your protection as if you were one of my own. I may
tend to appear serious as well as heartless, but truly, i'm more emotional on the
inside. Because of that, I don't always express my feelings or what I'm thinking as much, but if the feelings or thought are
strong enough, then you can rest assured that I will express myself. I rarely raise my voice, for keeping calm and collected
is something i'm quite known for. Because of my lack of making myself noticed, not to mention my placement of importance
in my duty, rather than socializing or friendships, I also am reserved as well as unsociable . Despite such, I really do love talking
to others, as well as making friends. I just have trouble putting myself out there and breaking that I may seem intimidating,
due to my seriousness at most times. I may seem brave, or courageous, but really, on the inside,
i'm unsure. Despite such, I never do things for myself. Being unselfish
could prove to my disadvantage, but to see others happy is really what I love. You could say that I live to
serve others and their happiness, really. No matter what, I serve my family with my life. There have been times when
my loyalty and pride have fought against each other, but no matter how much I value my pride,
my loyalty shines through, although a long time ago, it might have been different.
Ahh, I see. What made you change your mind, if I may ask?
Certainly~ You see, when I was younger, my parents were killed during a pride war, leaving me to be
taken care of by my aunt, Nilai. She was a great and wonderful mother to me, although, due to the shortage of lionesses in our
pride, I was often left to fend for myself. I didn't take a strong liking to our pride for a long time, due to me being forced to
take care of myself. During the pride games, where lions and lionesses would fight against each other for fun, I was determined
to enter and prove my worth to the pride. Despite such, Nilai refused to let me participate in fear that I would get hurt or injured.
After being teased about "being too cowardice to enter," I gave up trying to prove my worth to my pride. Instead, I was going to
prove my strength to Nilai. From then on I fell behind in my responsibilities to the pride, and trained myself day and night. It took
a long while, and my blood, sweat, and tears finally earned me the chance to participate, during my final trials to become a
hunter-- a test that all lionesses must pass. During the test, the lionesses that were of age would hunt as a group to bring in
the most prey as possible. It tested our teamwork, as well as each lionesses' skill. The pride's adult females would watch the
young group as they hunted, determining on who would graduate-- and who would not.
During the moments before my test, I felt adrenaline rush through my body, from my head to my paws. I snarled at the herd of
wildebeests that grazed in the distance, flexing my paws in preparation. This was it. Catching the signal flick of the lead hunter's
tail, I rushed forward silently, running alongside my teammates towards the wildebeest herd ahead. At the next signal, the group
split, surrounding the unaware herd of prey. Each lioness was on her own now, hiding in the brush, prepared for the leader's signal to
charge. Suddenly, a wildebeest caught scent of one of my fellow packmates, braying and stomping in fear. Soon, the whole herd took
off, fleeing from my pack. I dashed forwards, spotting a younger yet injured wildebeest straying from the herd as it limped slowly
behind, crying to it's herd members. Other lionesses caught on to my plan, quickly catching up and surrounding the young wildebeest.
Fear was filled in his eyes as he stopped in his tracks and looked around frantically, searching for an escape. He made a dash for
what appeared to be an opening, but little did he know that there was a small, brown lioness waiting under the brush-- me. I leaped
forward right as he ran past, sinking my claws and teeth into his lower neck, drawing blood. Other lionesses aimed for his legs and
forced the prey to slow down, allowing me to deliver the killing bite. Finally, as the life drained from his eyes, I glanced up, looking
around me at the panting lionesses. We had lost a good chance, but we still had a small reward in the end.
Together, we dragged the little wildebeest back to our pride, smiling slightly at the whoops and cheers that filled the air. The
mood of the group fell, knowing that failure was a big possibility, as we walked slowly into the leader's den. One by one, we sat
around in a half-circle, facing the leader and his mate. We bowed our heads in respect, accepting whatever fate we were given.
Those that passed were permitted to join the lionesses in their hunts, as well as in the battles that may come. Those that failed,
however, were forced to train for another year, and in the next test that came, it was more difficult to pass. One by one, the
leader called out each lioness and gave her the appropriate rank. So far, everyone but one had passed. I was last, being the
smallest and youngest of the group.
"Kanalli," he spoke, with his deep, rumbling voice. "As a young lioness of our pride, you have demonstrated your skills in the test.
Because of your quick thinking and reflexes when the hunt nearly failed, you saved the hunt by using those skills to pick out a
wildebeest. You were able to take the beast down, bringing success to the group, despite being a small success." He bowed his head
in respect as his mate spoke, who was also the leader of the hunts.
"For that, Kanalli, I welcome you graciously into my hunt. I look forward to seeing you in the morning, little one." She smiled, her
warm brown eyes shining.
