Favorite artistic activity:

Photomanipulation.
Reese, as mentioned before, absolutely loves the water, the ocean, coral reefs, fish, the sun, everything. Most of the stock photos she uses are her own photos, meaning her second favorite artistic activity would be photography. She has underwater cameras to take HD pictures of fish, coral, seaweed, everything.
When getting back home to her computer, tablet, Photoshop and everything, she begins working. She uploads the pictures [or searches places like deviantArt or ShutterStock], and then opens them in Photoshop to begin working. Taking all sorts of tools, brushes, images, filters and such, she pieces together photos, and she's pretty darn good at it. Many mistake her work for actual pictures that were taken and posted, not a bunch of images pasted together.
Reef's favorite thing to manipulate are pictures of, well, the ocean! Putting all sorts of fish into one picture, recoloring fish to make her own new 'species,' aquatic manips are her favorite. She doesn't just do aquatic, though. Reese has made winged horses, sled dog teams out of random huskies, jackalopes, unicorns, magical waterfalls, pre-made backgrounds, various avian manips, and more. Reef loves to push the limits, go beyond what she normally does, play with tools, adjust things, and overall go wild with manips!

Reef uses a simple Wacom Bamboo drawing tablet, CTH-470 for her manipulations. She uses PhotoShop, and if there's a new version out, she gets it right away. She's been all over the place to take stock photos, and she has a deviantArt account where she posts all the photos! They include, but are not limited to;

Now, about this artwork. It features Reef sitting in her room, at her desk, making an [unseen] photomanipulation on her laptop ^-^
Her shirt has the words 'beach bum' and a beachball on it, because of course she loves the beach. She's got a lemonade in her left paw, because she not only works at a refreshment stand, but also loves lemonade, smoothies, and such. The stickers on her laptop are a beach towel and umbrella with all the colors of the rainbow, because she is an artist and a beach fanatic. The other sticker is a group of rainbow colored fish. Next to her computer is her iphone; she likes playing with it but often loses/forgets it. In the background, her carpet and walls are blue since that is one of her favorite, if not her favorite, color. Her bed is also blue, and on it there are a few sketches that she'd drawn, and a random tanktop and shorts [I never said she was the neatest, especially in organizing her room xD ]. Next to her bed is a dirty volleyball, since she plays volleyball. Her calendar has a picture of the beach/ocean for every month, and her bulletin board also has stuff on it. There is a postcard she bought at a local shop because she liked it, a pic of her playing volleyball, and a closeup picture of a swimming fish. There's a giant post-it note that says "b @ practice 4 p.m.," and a photo booth strip of her. On the right side there is a painting of the ocean, and her bedside table has a lamp on it striped with blue and green.

A Bit of Background

Reese is a very social girl, both online and in real life. She balances her life between volleyball, her favorite sport, traveling [and taking lots of pictures!], photomanipulation, work, school, and such.

So let's learn a little bit about her.
Name;
Her full name is Reese Sara Strand, and her popular nickname is Reef. Her first name, Reese, was given to her simply because her mother liked the name! Her middle name was the same - her mother liked it - and her last name is of German origin meaning "sea shore." It was typically given to someone who lived on or near the sea, which she does!

Travel;
As I mentioned before, Reese loves to travel. She's been to the US mainland various places, including a few of the Great Lakes, Washington, D.C., Florida, and more. She's also been to Alaska and lives in Hawaii now. Actually, she was born in Alaska! Her husky-patterned fur underneath the tropical splashes reflects that, but she prefers warmer weather and avoids letting her fur grow too long!
She's been to many other places around the world including Guatemala, Bali, Jamaica, Costa Rica, parts of Mexico, and lots more. She's also been to colder areas like Canada, so she's pretty well-rounded in travel!
In many third-world countries she's been in, Reef likes to help the less fortunate, donate, build homes, teach them things to help them, and more. She's also donated and given to soldiers and belongs to a lot of charitable organizations, including ones for animals, not just people!

Personality;
Reef is a kind, caring, loving spirit. She's also got lots of spirit! She's a social girl, but not all 'popular' and snooty. She's a straight A student, has a fair paying job at a smoothie shop, and she's in college right now. She's determined, funny, happy, and enjoyable. While she spends a lot of time outside, playing volleyball, surfing the waves, taking pictures and everything, she's also a night own and doesn't get much sleep, so she's tired all the time, but tries to push through it and have fun! She's not afraid to stand up and stand out, or to help others, or to do something fun and silly just because, well, it's fun!

Lifestyle;
Reef lives in Hawaii, as previously mentioned c: She lives in a small hut thing that she can *just* pay for, but she can, and she loves it<3 She loves surfing, swimming, going out in the water and taking pictures, and her job at a refreshment stand/restaurant is'nt bad either! She plays volleyball and is active, along with being social. She also loves to get online and just browse, chat, draw, and manipulate photos!
As for traveling, see above c:
She does not currently have any pets, although she wants one badly ;n; Maybe a little puppy that will grow up and be a big, sweet dog, or a fluffy kitten to complain and laugh about, maybe some tropical fish to look at so she can be even more connected to the ocean?

Favorite artistic activity: Verne's favorite activity is basket weaving. Yes, he realizes that it may not be the manliest of sports, but it is something he loves to do with all of his heart. The reason why he loves the art of basket weaving so much (and every other type of weaving), is that it brings him a perfect balance of peace and excitement. Every time he sees a blade of grass, or a branch, or flower, he automatically envisions it put together as a glorious headdress or basket.

She loves going out into her flower garden and finding anything she can. From Dead butterflies to Blossoms knocked off by the wind, She creates a master piece with natural items and maybe a splash of paint or two. She makes organic bows from a Garcidea flower and a snake skin. She collects hawk feathers to make a Native American head piece or even collecting blue and orange flowers to create a colorful bouquet.

I exit my home and look around walking down the stairs managing not to tumble over i jump onto the stone path. It leads into my garden which i grow the most beautiful flowers. I take a Garcidea flower and put it in my hair-like fur and go on to collecting. I pick a few vines and wrap them in a loop, covered with flowers. I toss it in the air and it lands around my neck, not to tight,not to loose, Perfect. I grab other natural items such as black berries and holly berries, I take them in my home and get to work on my canvas made of birch tree bark. I squish the holly berries and black berries to make a paint-like substance. I use my paws to paint a picture of myself, Using the leaves and vines I've gathered as well as hawk feathers to make my plumage and i am done for the day, a magnificent piece of art i have made.

Favorite artistic activity: She loves throwing the following is just a small part to show it.
Hearing the heavenly sound of the microwave, my ears perk up and the aroma of my favorite drink hits my senses. “Finally.” I coo before shooting up from my hunched spot on the throwing wheel. Stretching my back quickly I feel the pain leave it before padding, clay covered paws and all, through my studio and to the microwave in it. Pressing the large black button on the microwave, the door pops open and there is the wonderful drink that keeps me going in life. Reaching in I pull the steaming cup from the microwave, careful not to waste a drop of the precious liquid. Placing it under my nose I inhale deeply before letting out a sigh. “Mmmmm, such a wondrous thing.” I say as I pop in one of my colored straws and padding back across the room. Placing the warm, clay covered mug on the small stool next to me I go back to work. Occasionally stopping to take a long drawl on the straw.
My hot cocoa had disappeared long ago and without knowing it the sun had traveled its path across the sky and day was no more. Looking down at my current project I smile as I realize I had it finished. I always found it funny how time flew and my pieces came together. Grabbing my long wire I pull it underneath the sculpture that was filled with little engraved snowflakes. Gently moving the piece onto a board I carry it to my drying rack, covering it slightly so it wouldn’t crack. Groaning I can finally feel how long I was hunched today. “Oh never again.” I sigh dragging my feet out of the room, shutting off all the lights, and heading to my bathroom. I always say that I will never work that long but, it never happens. I just can’t help it I love sculpting.

Favorite artistic activity: (450 words max) He doesn't like using fancy paints or things that can be bought. He uses the various things around his home such as plants and berries to create all sorts of artwork. He lives in a small, cute little home that a good friend helped build for him. The roof tiles are round and the house is white with several pastel colors decorating it. These colors, he says, are his favorite and help him in his creative process. He feels embarrassed occasionally by his 'girly' house, as it does attract attention being in the middle of the forest. Leaving artwork outside to dry attracts the attention of other animals, too. But this attention he appreciates, because he knows it makes the onlookers happy, even if it makes himself a bit self-conscious. He is shy, introverted and quiet, never showing his face but to get more supplies. It is a very dear secret to him but he hopes his artworks will someday attract a pretty girl.

Articulating Skeletons.

Orrick really loves articulating skeletons.

Being an archaeologist, he often goes out on archaeological digs. When he finds bones, he's often the one that puts them back together. He loves the excitement of putting together an ancient beast and making them look as ferocious as they used to. Frequently he'll articulate skeletons of less importance. He has been known to decorate these unimportant skeletons; Orrick paints them, puts jewels on them, hangs necklaces from them--anything really. However, he would never be caught dead doing this to an important skeleton from one of his archaeological digs. He has also been known to take bones from different species and articulate them together, creating skeletons of mythological beasts (such as a jackalope, a gryphon, etc.).

Taking something that's old, dirty and broken and fixing it, and putting it back together-- that's part of why he likes doing it. Articulating skeletons makes Orrick feel like, somehow, he's helping the past shine through to the future, and that makes him happy. If truth be told, though, Orrick honestly just thinks that articulation skeletons is fun and interesting and that's the main reason he does it.

He has his own shop where he sells some of the skeletons that he's articulated. People can also come in and request that he articulate and/or decorate a specific type of skeleton. They can also bring in the bones of, say, a beloved pet for Orrick to articulate and/or decorate.

This is an image of Orrick putting the skull on a skeleton of a R.O.U.S. (Rodent of Unusual Size, from the movie Princess Bride cx) that he found at an archaeological dig. He's looking at it with a face of pure concentration and determination. The tail and two of the legs have yet to be added to the skeleton. It also shows one of his quirks (his oral fixation).

The lines on the skeleton are really rough, I know, but it was on purpose. I did it because the bones are supposed to be messed up, broken, etc., but it really ended up just looking messy.
Also the thing in his mouth is a wire, which I should've made silver, but I didn't think about it until just now. ^-^"

◘ tea leaves obsession

Orrick has a major obsession with tea leaves. He loves to smell them. He loves to chew them. He just loves them. His favorite kind of tea leaves are green tea leaves. For some reason, they just taste so much better than the other tea leaves. Green tea leaves can frequently be found stuffed away in his home, in his favorite hiding places and even in his fur. Orrick has been known to roll around in the leaves because they make him feel more clean.
◘ apple obsession

Now, this probably isn't what you think. Orrick doesn't like eating apples-- in fact, he hates the way they taste. However, they're frequently found in his home, and his favorite candles are apple scented. It's not just the scent that he loves, either. Orrick is especially fond of of the way that apples look and the way they feel in his hands.
◘ frozen banana obsession

He dislikes bananas pretty strongly, unless they're frozen. Orrick can't get enough of frozen bananas. He makes smoothies out of them, he eats them with berries, he eats them alone. Something about freezing a banana really adds that extra oomph. Orrick couldn't love frozen bananas anymore than he does; they're without a doubt his favorite food.
◘ fear of small reptiles

Large reptiles give him absolutely no problem whatsoever. It's just the small ones that he's afraid of. Nothing freaks him out more than a small little lizard jumping on him. In fact, Orrick has such a strong fear of the little things that he's fainted a time or two.
◘ oral fixation

Orrick has a pretty obvious oral fixation, and can frequently be found with something in his mouth. He's constantly chewing gum or tea leaves. He can also be found chewing on the ends of pens, or similar things. Whenever Orrick is articulation skeletons he generally has wires and other things he's using in his mouth, partially because it's convenient and partially because of his oral fixation.
