What's a Hazard Cat?
It's not as stupidly complicated as it looks, don't worry |D
I'm not too fond of this one, but I'm posting it anyways cause the designs I don't like seem to be popular...
It's kinda hard to see, but this one's extra glow-y~
The eyes, screen, tail, and goo all glow

Hazard cats are felines that have been partially mixed with robotics. They have tails made of metal that are severed in the middle, but connected with some form of energy. A glass screen rests on their chests. This screen shows the cat's health with heartbeats or a glowing circle. The color always matches the cat's eyes. Some cats' screens are full of static. Beware, these are dangerous as they are rare. A small grate can be seen on both sides of the cats' bodies. They breathe through these grates, so it's impossible for it not to be there. What comes out of the grate differs from cat to cat. The most common is steam, uncommon is sound, which is accompanied by mist, and the hardest to find have goo seeping out between the bars. They have three eyes, but the one in the center of their forehead is almost always taped down or covered with a band-aid. It is said that this third eye allows them to paralyze their targets. The pupils are most commonly hollow in the center, but can be regular of slit. Large ears and eyes allow them to see clearly in all levels of light, even in pitch blackness. Their hearing is very advanced and they can hear sounds even higher than dogs can. Their legs are very long, like those of maned wolves, bringing them up to speeds of fifty miles per hour.

the origin or mode of formation of something.
Now that we have the definition covered, I'll tell you why I chose this name. I was never given a name in my youth, you see. However, I feel empty without one. After all, how am I to introduce myself without an identity of my own? For days I have thought about this. Shall I tell you a little story of names and wordplay?Genesis wrote:I remember my birth. I was a spark in a lab, with transparent goo flowing from my grates, my eyes still closed. I only knew that the slime was transparent because I revisited the lab and noticed it. The colorless slime was beginning to strain my breathing; it was all over my left grate as I was lying on my right side.
There were humans surrounding me. I didn't know that I was an experiment at the time, but they talked about me joyfully. My neck was too weak for me to look up into their faces, and my eyes wouldn't open anyway, so I felt a hint of insecurity.
Weak, I couldn't get up. I was beginning to feel dizzy as I couldn't get enough oxygen. One of the humans' gloved hands nudged me, and I was forced to roll over. It was such a relief, as I could feel the flow of air through my grates again.
Some other human cleaned the slime off my grate. It felt uncomfortable, but at least I could breathe well. My left ear was still plastered on my head by the slime; from that ear, the humans' voices scared me. Their distorted words met my ears, and I whimpered.
They carried me somewhere. While being picked up, I made a shrill noise and was able to identify my surroundings. We were going down a corridor. Everything was either dark or dimmed, as the humans made grunts as if they bumped against something once in a while.
I was gently placed on a table. The humans wrapped me with a towel and left me in the room. It was warm in there, as if some heat source was nearby. I whimpered again, and the sound vibrated through the air. As it came back to me, I interpreted that the room was big for me and that something else was in the room, probably the heater.
For a long period of time, I was left in this room. I didn't mind; the humans fed me. Even though I couldn't tell how past the days went by, I knew that it had been well over two weeks when I first opened my eyes.
At this point my sight was still blurry. I could see a light source far above me. The rays were of pure white. The heater was metallic and I was still on that table. A blanket had been draped over a section of it, where I slept. The slime stained some of it, but the humans would probably come and replace it soon. They would pick me up gently, rubbing me with a towel.
However, I couldn't seem to open my third eye. It took me long to be able to touch it with my paw. Something had closed it, preventing it from opening, but I didn't mind. I was too busy watching my surroundings.
But as I was only a spark, how could I not feel amazed by what I saw? Sight is a wonderful gift. I marveled at how accurate my eyesight was getting; the blurs began to disappear. As the hours went by, I lost myself in this new world. How could I not?
Two tall humans opened the door to the room. I was eager to show them that I had opened my eyes. I didn't know why, but since I didn't have a mother, they were all I had. There were probably more of them, but I didn't see any others.
Sad as it was, this was when it began.
I looked up with my two eyes. It was definitely one of the worst decisions I made in my childhood. The first human froze, and I saw a flash of extreme pain in his eyes. At this, the second human backed away. I was, of course, scared. I backed away, looking up at the two tall figures. The paralyzed one was almost yelling, as if his entire body was on flames.
The other one grabbed me and quickly tied a cloth over my eyes. I could feel his hands gripping my sides, preventing me from breathing. I was moved around, still in his hands, as his worried calls were answered. I heard footsteps and angered shouts.
My grates couldn't take any air. I was getting dizzy as no oxygen went into my system. I couldn't open my eyes against the cloth, which was now hurting my head and pressing the fur against my face. I felt myself, handed into someone else's hands.
For some time I was only carried somewhere along the corridor. I was able to 'see' where I was with the shrill noises I made, letting the sound waves come back to me. We were going deep into the corridor. The human kept muttering words in disgust. I didn't know what was happening; who would expect me to, at such a young age? I could hardly comprehend what happened. And as I couldn't breathe, I was getting even more lightheaded.
By the end of the corridor, I blacked out.

I came to my senses after what felt like days. My eyes stung and my breathing was again strained by the slime. I got up to my paws shakily; something was tied over my eyes again. I was weaker than last time.
My paws were now on some sort of grainy sand. I couldn't identify it by sight, so I made a sudden noise. It traveled across the air, then came back to me. I soon found that I was outside, as there were no walls. There was a line of small trees or something, and on one side was water. Nothing more.
Why was I here?
I didn't know. I tried to take off my blindfold as I knew that, even with my strange new sense, I still wanted to see things the way they were. I sheathed my claws and tried to take the blindfold off. After a while, I realized that I was only scuffling blindly and that what I was doing was useless. I unsheathed my claws hesitantly before I clawed at my face again, trying to take off the blindfold.
"Ow!"
My claws had torn the blindfold, but I had hurt myself in the process. I could feel warm blood trickle down my face. It stung. Of course, I felt scared. I opened my eye, and thankfully it was okay, but the wound was above it, so it made things hard to see.
The only thing that came to mind was to wash the wound. I used my blurry eyesight and combined it with my other senses, locating a small puddle. Odd as it was, as I dunked my face in there, the pain subsided. I said 'odd,' because even though I didn't know it at the time, I was at a beach. The water in the puddle wasn't salty. My only explanation was that I was probably near some baths or something, where the humans had cleaner water. I couldn't exactly remember.
Anyway, I kept my face under the water. My breathing was getting strained again, and my sides hurt. Dust coated my grates and it felt rather suffocating. I surfaced my head and my sight instantly turned better. My right eye was still covered by the blindfold, however, but I was too tired to take it off.
I found a comfortable fern and slept with it as my cushion, even though it was still day.
๑۞๑. ۞ ๑ ۞๑ ۞ ๑ ۞ ๑. ۞ ๑ ۞๑ ۞ ๑ ۞ ๑۞๑. ۞ ๑ ۞ ๑
I never expected a morning sun to greet me, but this was absurd.
When I woke up, I could see a strange luminescence in the distance. The moon was high in the sky, and even though my wound was closing, I still had trouble opening my eye. With a more practiced paw, I pressed against my wound gently. It was swollen against my eye, so it would have to stay half-closed for a while. At least I could still use noises to help me.
The lights flickered invitingly from the water's edge. I quickly made my way there and looked into the water. Something was making it glow. And this time I wasn't lying. The water was dotted with tiny blue beacons, and when my paws sank into the sand and water spilled into my paw prints, the glowing stayed within it.
Something was going on, but I didn't know what it was. All I knew was that it was simply beautiful. I looked around, even though my sight was limited. The sky was still dark and the moon shone cold rays that ruffled my fur. And yet the water still shimmered. It was all so strange...
Waves started to lap at my paws. I didn't mind; it was cooling my fur anyway. Making sure I kept my grate above the water, I carefully bent down to wash my knees. The water swirled around me, and the strange blue began to stick to my fur as if I was given a douse of blue stars.
But the white stars of the sky were still there. Did they turn blue when they fell, bringing the color of the sky along with them before crashing into these waters? What were these dots? Was it just me? Was I too confused?
Delirium was starting to get to me. I didn't know what was happening, but it felt like I was flying in a pool of stars and dreams...
If only the dream hadn't become a nightmare.
I heard a whizzing sound, like some sort of arrow cutting the air towards me, and something flew right past me, plunging into the water. I heard a "Missed it!" from somewhere, and I could see two shadows from behind me.
Humans. One of them went into the water and I hissed ferociously. The cursed creature didn't back off, but came closer. I was crouching, afraid, when I realized that it was a reckless move. A glowing wave hit my side, and I swayed as water filled my grates. It's impossible to explain what happened next; I didn't know.
All I knew was, when I opened my eyes, either a thousand years or a millisecond had passed. I was held aloft in the water, and I must have been pulled by the tide. Water continued to gush into my artificial lungs, but my one eye was still open. I was slipping in and out of consciousness, and my sight was fading. Dots swam in front of my viewpoint.
Was I going to black out again?
No... it felt like Death's bone-cold hand was touching me, soothing me. Death had no voice. Death could not speak. He could only warn us, but speak to me he did. You'll be safe. Your time has not come. And as soon as pain seared through me, I knew I was still alive. I was hanging on the thinnest thread of life, but I was alive nevertheless. Standing on the blurred border of life and death, I suddenly felt something pulled me by my scruff.
I was hauled out of the water and slammed onto a hard metallic surface. I didn't know what happened next.
All I knew was, when I woke up, I had a new piece of cloth wrapped around me, my sight was almost fully corrupted from me, and my leg was now wrapped. Those filthy humans, they tore the sight out of me, they wreaked me when I was barely alive. They abandoned me, on this very beach.
And so here I am, surrounded by a sea of stars that I would never see again.
▍Gender ;; As you can probably already see, I am a female. I guess you can't see it very well, and I'm sorry for that. I can't remove this blindfold, so if you want to see my face and judge my gender with it, you have my apologies.
▍Personality ;; Gentle • Shy • Watchful • Listening • Fearful • Kind • Concerned • Explorer • Humble • Hearty • Decision-maker • Compassionate
Genesis is nowhere near a show-off. How could she, with no sight? She never brags about her supersonic 'sixth sense,' and even though she lives alone, she is consistently helping the sick animals who wind up on her beach.
▍Home ;; As of now, I currently reside in a small den I built alone, on a beach. The Maldives. If only I could see the beauty in which I live so close to. Have you ever been here at night? It's when the stars fall from the skies and the water glows. When fireflies of blue visit the shore and bathe in the water. It's simply magical; it's when droplets turn into luminescent dust. I've composed poems of my own, so if you would so kindly spare your time and listen, I would be honored to read them out. I know both of them by heart now.Genesis wrote:"You Don't Believe in Fairies" by Genesis
You walk to the shore and watch the sunset,
You notice the strange glows up ahead.
You come close, you're not too sure;
Is the water glowing, or is it a blur?
Because you don't believe in fairies,
And it seems a bit surreal.
Has magic dust coated these waves,
Is this enchantment that you feel?
You look down and the water engulfs you,
You step back and wonder if it's true.
You glance left and right, and then at the skies,
Is it so strange, are those fireflies?
Because you don't believe in fairies,
And things look somewhat different.
Has a pair of wings shunned the stars,
Is your sanity really so distant?
You sigh and take a rest,
You decide to make a guess.
You resort to science, and start to think.
Is it all to disappear in a blink?
Because you don't believe in fairies...Genesis wrote:"Fallen Fireflies" by Genesis
These waters, glowing so bright,
Expanding seas, ever so wide,
Will you glow for me tonight?
But who knows what these truly are,
When our own death is still so far?
And yet these fallen fireflies continue to glow,
Will they be remembered...
Or remain unknown?
Death stalks us every day,
His face concealed by shadows,
Waiting for that fateful hour,
When he can lead you through the foggy gray.
And that's when you realize that Death is watching,
As you crouch down to see these fallen fireflies.
He hides, you'll never hear him coming,
But one day he'll take you to the skies.
He'll take you by the hands and haul you upwards,
And you won't even remember who you were before.
As he takes you for a walk near the bed of flowers,
You'll meet these fallen fireflies once more.
Don't misunderstand, Death is a friend,
He frees you from loneliness and takes you away,
But when he does so, you'll already know,
What was once tomorrow is now today.
Your Death will be your companion; embrace him,
As these fallen fireflies have embraced theirs.
Their Deaths took them each into the skies,
And their spirits remain here forever...
These fallen fireflies.
