Rye was tainted with a fungus called Ergot, which is the fungus that contains the hallucinogen found in LSD.

I was held up trying to find the reason why it went bad >-< I knew it was the grains/rye but I didn't know the illness, went through a class on the witch trails last semester haha. didn't know I could just state it was the rye, thought it was a two part answer

After I posted it I went "naaaaah, too early for a two part answer." So I just narrowed to down to what food.
