Personality: I have to say that Carlotta not only shares the same name as the stage character, but oh boy does she share the same personality! Carlotta is a high maintenance mare, which is probably how she ended up in my care. Spoilt rotten by her owners as a foal up 'til she was a yearling, everything has to go Carlotta's way or it doesn't happen at all. Dirty stalls? Small horseboxes? Tatty halters? For a horse, she really has a fussy nature about the tidiness of things. And you can't afford to keep her waiting either. If you so much as ignore her claims for attention for 10 minutes, you can expect to feel a nip on your shoulder or watch as she begins to paw the ground impatiently. If anything, I like ignoring her just to wind her up sometimes, as it can be highly amusing. She's also very vocal, which I've not seen in horses too often before. If she wants something, she isn't to afraid to whinny for attention, much to the annoyance of my neighbours. But, despite all of this, Carlotta is and can be highly affectionate and is a joy to work with if you play by her rules. Things at the Woodland Trax stables would be a lot quieter, and quite frankly more dull, without her around!
