Faeleons are a newly discovered species inhabiting the remote taiga landscape of northern Canada. They are a species very similar to the lions of Africa, but suited to life in the snow and ice. Faeleons are intelligent and generally peaceful, but known to be powerful and vicious fighters when threatened.

History: Nikolai grew up in the cold regions of northern Canada. He lived a very peaceful, normal life until a group of poachers tried to kill him for his soft fur. Luckily, Nikolai got out alive, but was mentally scarred for life. A cold hatred grew in his heart for these humans - a misanthropic personality had soon consumed his being. After this, he never trusted humans again, and is now hesitant to be adopted. He doesn't know if he'll get hurt again. {If I win, this history will be fleshed out much more. This is just the basic gist of it.}

He is a beasty big boy!

History:
Marco is the non-biological son of the alpha male of his pride. He is in-fact his 'fathers' nephew ; but real father was the brother of the alpha, but left the pride when his mate wanted to leave and start a new life after rumours of their plans to kill off the alpha spread around the pride.

He has had an average life, he didn't have many cubs to play with when he was growing up but he found fun out of other things, such as chasing leaves in the wind or pulling pranks among the unsuspecting members of the pride. As he grew, he became a bit unsocial, but not hostile. He was raised to be like his new father- brutish and selfish. He was trained everyday for a few hours so he could take his place as leader when the time came.

However, Marco didn't like that he was being moulded into a duplicate of his dad, and often sneaked away to keep his sweet side. He watched bugs and baby animals stumble about as they took their first steps, he played in the river and climbed trees when he was expected to hunt the fish or birds. He stayed awake at night sometimes, watching the stars and feeling calm as the moonlight gave everything a blue glow. He would act tough around his father, often the members of the pride would make comments on how Marco was just a miniature version of his father!

Then the time came when Marco had to step up and be a leader.

One day, Marco was ambushed by two rouge faeleons who wanted to overtake the pride. He tried his best, but two to one meant that he was obliterated. He could've easily matched one of them for strength, but the other was far too quick and would dodge attacks easily. When he thought he would have to give in, his father came to his rescue. But now, his dad was old and weakened but joint pain and stiffness. The pair managed to over throw the rouges, and chased them away warning them that the pride would show them any mercy if they decided to return.

Marcos father passed away that night, telling Marco that he was proud to be his father, and that he had transformed into a fine young faeleon. It was a sad day for the whole pride- The hard headed alpha had softened somewhat during his old age, and allowed Marco to show his softer side.

Marco now rules over his pride, he is firm but fair and has no problem punishing the bad behaviour of his members, or praising those who do good. He still sometimes sneaks away from his stressful life to watch the leaves float by on the breeze, or watch as bugs make the long trek up the trees.

This Faeleon really caught my eye- I like darker characters and I enjoy giving personalities that don't quite match their appearance. If I were to win, Marco would come across as a bit grumpy but soon reveals that he is a soft cub that can't really deal with running the pride. He would be a bit awkward, especially around females, and not he often asks members for help if he needs it. He would have his bad days though, where he would lash out when the smallest things ticked him off but would later apologise and ask for forgiveness. He also enjoys learning new things, he tries to follow the elders in his pride and hopes to become as wise as them one day.
I also thought that this guy would be lovely to breed, if or when breeding become available, because of his simplistic design and dark base. I would love to find a mate for him who was bright and colourful, as I think they would make awesome babies- I adore simple and bright markings on dark bases. I also love his eyes <3

Nox often seems to be angry, like he could easily just start arguing with anything you ask of him, or attack someone for crossing him, but he doesn't actually speak all that much. He is quiet and brooding, a clever faeleon, and ready fighter. Some might say he resembles his father, who was angry, ready to jump on anyone who he didn't like, but Nox is different, he is much more tactical, and makes decisions based on how they will benefit him.

History:
The night Nox was born, the moon went dark.
He was born on the night of a lunar eclipse, and as the moon passed over the sun, Nox was born. His mother, Natasha, died at his birth, and his father had left the pride long before his birth.
No one wanted to take Nox in, he was like an outcast in his own pride, the strange one, born on a strange night. When he was old enough to survive on his own, Nox knew he had a choice, to either stay, and continue living the same life he had endured since he was a cub, or leave, and start a new. Nox chose to leave. He wandered for a while, running into a pride on his way, but he didn't stay with them, instead he continued on. Then Nox, out of all the other Faeleons he could have met, met his father. His father had left Nox's old pride not long after he found out that Natasha was pregnant. Nox wasn't meant to be, his mother and father didn't love each other, and his father had even tried to kill Natasha after he found out. That was why he left; both so that he never had to meet his son, and because of what he had tried to do. How unlucky for him that he stumbled across Nox one sunny afternoon, and finally met his son.
