Name: Draken

I was named a little late in life since my parents couldn't seem to come up with a name. In Greek, my name means- dragon. The name Draken orginated as an Greek name. They named me somewhat after one my favourite sky formations.

Gender: Male

Since the Draco myth seems to have the Dragon male, I thought I would make this sima male.

Favorite Constellation: Draco

It is said that dragons in Greek mythology that may have inspired the constellation's name include Ladon, the dragon who guarded the golden apples of the Hesperides. Hercules killed Ladon during his 12 labors; he was tasked with stealing the golden apples. The constellation of Hercules is depicted near Draco.

In Greco- Roman legend, Draco was a dragon killed by the goddess Minerva and tossed into the sky upon his defeat. The dragon was one of the Giant Titans, who battled the Olympic gods for ten years. As Minerva threw the dragon, it became twisted on itself and froze at the cold North Celestial Pole before it could right itself.

But reason for enjoying the Draco constellation is, it feels powerful and majestic. It could also be that I enjoy dragons, and I often dream about being one. I mean, just look at the Dragon in all its might and glory, no one in their right mind would dare mess with a full grown Dragon.

“Huh? You want to know what my name is? It’s COSMOS, if you really want to know. Yep, that’s right. Of all the things that she could’ve chosen, my mother named me after a flower. Typical.” Cosmos rolls his eyes, although his mouth twitches ever-so-slightly, as though he’s trying hard to repress a grin. “Bet she didn’t even realize it’s also another word for the universe, haha!”

“My gender, you ask? Geez, man, I know my name isn’t the most manly one out there, but that’s still a low blow.” As if to emphasize his point, Cosmos pretends to jerk back in feigned shock before assuming a sulking position, apparently hurt by the supposedly “cruel” remark. This time, however, he makes no attempt to hide his merriment, and when he looks up, he’s wearing a good-natured smile. “I’m MALE, if it’s that important to you. What’s with the sudden interrogation, anyway?”

“I was born on—wait, what do you mean, my favorite constellation? Are you trying to trip me up with a non sequitur or something? No? Wait, you mean that you were actually being serious? Why the heck do you need to know that?” Cosmos waits for an answer, then shakes his head. “Never mind. I’m not sure I want to know anyway. Just give me a minute to think, alright?” True to his word, he pauses to think for a moment, and his voice is unusually gentle when he starts to speak again.

“I guess that my favorite constellation would have to be the LITTLE DIPPER, and before you ask, no, I do not mean Ursa Minor—the Little Dipper is what I’ve always known it by, and it’s going to stay that way. When I was a kid, I got sick a lot, and I always refused to take any medicine, so my mom would nurse me back to health with stories about a spoonful of magical medicine in the sky instead. Even now, I can almost taste her chicken soup whenever I look at the Little Dipper.” There is a moment of nostalgic silence; then, Cosmos flashes you a mischievous grin. “It’s kinda cheesy, huh?”
