As a young colt, his herd was led by a tyranical ruler that would nip at the mares if they tried to leave and kick the males out at a young age. Ever since then he has promised himself that no matter what comes his way, he will never be that kind of leader. Dustan would be a fair and just leader that did whatever was best for his herd as a whole and even the individuals amongst it. He would never even consider even for a moment leaving someone behind because they were too weak to carry on, and would defend his herd with his life if necessary.
