Mercutio

-Pronunciation: /mərˈkjuːʃioʊ/ (mur-kyew-shee-oh)

-Origin: The name of a character in William
Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
This name may be related to the word
"mercurial", a word that means "having
an unpredictable and fast changing mood".

-Origin: His friends who are unable to
pronounce his name or are simply
unable to began calling him Mer.

-Reason: This bean simply resembles
a male. The fact that he is based off
of a raptor, a vicious dinosaur, heavily
influenced my decision.

-Reason: Because he is named after
Romeo's best friend in Shakespeare's
Romeo and Juliet, I thought it
would be fitting to make him the same
age as Romeo.

5.9 feet (1.8 meters)

-Reason: A velociraptor's height of
2.5 feet (0.8 meters) was much too
short for a Jellybean Dragon, so I
decided to make his height equal to
the length of a velociraptor instead.

Weight
200 pounds (91 kg)

-Reason: The average weight of a
velociraptor was around 200 pounds.

Fears
Betrayal, Loneliness, Immobility, Embarrassment

-Reasons

--Betrayal: Mercutio has been betrayed
before, and he absolutely loathes the way
it makes him feel. He greatly fears being
betrayed and only makes friends with
trustworthy Jellybean Dragons.

--Lonliness: As the life of the party,
Mercutio hates being alone. Put him in
a room alone, and he'll be outta there
before you can say "Velociraptor".

--Immobility: Mercutio loves to move
around and party with his friends. His
love of moving around and partying has
made him so insanely adapted to move
that the thought of not moving
has become a major fear.

Embarrassment: He's messed things up
before and isn't afraid to admit it. But
the embarrassment that accompanies
his sometimes risky antics is just about
the worst feeling in the world to him.

Secrets
A secret fear of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

-Summary: It may seem a tad ironic
that he, a "dinosaur" of sorts himself,
fears an extinct predator. However,
he does have a reason for his fear.

-Reason: The T-Rex was the king of
the dinosaurs, a 40 foot (12.3 meter)
tall beast that could eat anything it
wanted without being attacked.
As soon as Mercutio learned about
this giant, dinosaur-eating beast,
he nearly wet his nonexistent pants.

-Summary: Mercutio may have social
smarts, but his actual intelligence isn't
quite up there. He's never been too bright
when it comes to things you'd learn in
school, as he never really paid attention
to things he thought he'd never use.

Food Preferences
Tofu, tofu, and more tofu.

-Reason: Jellybean dragons do not feed
on meat, but boy, Mercutio would sure
love to try it someday. In the meantime,
he's fine with tofu.

Eating Habits
A messy boy who's constantly eating.

-Summary: As a dino-bean with a party
attitude, it's only natural that his eating
habits resemble that of his "relatives".
He eats messily, and eats A LOT. Not
someone you'd want to bring along to
a fancy dinner party.

-Leader: Mercutio is big on leading. He
loves to take center stage and would hate
having his place taken.

-Spontaneous: Mercutio makes his decisions
as he goes, which makes him absolutely
horrid at video and board games. This
aspect can get him into trouble.

-Groups: As stated before, Mercutio is so used
to taking the spotlight that he has developed
a fear of being alone.

Pet Peeves
Party Poopers, overthinkers, open-mouth-chewers

-Party Poopers: If you ruin a party or bring
it down in any way, shape, or form, Mercutio
will almost certainly become insanely annoyed
with you.

-Overthinkers: Mercutio doesn't understand
why anyone would actually sit down and plan
something. He likes to let fate decide what will
happen, and dislikes anyone who does otherwise.

-Open-Mouth Chewers: Despite being a dino-esque
bean with a huge appetite, he hates having to watch
someone chew with their mouth open. It disgusts him
and he will almost always leave the area when someone
chews with their mouth open. You could call him a
hypocrite; he hates watching people chew with their
mouth open.. But constantly does so himself.

As seen by others
Insane party god.

-Reason: That's what Mercutio is. He's a party guy
who is unable to stop running around doing whatever
he can to stay active and just have a good time. His
unpredictable, sudden mood changes make him seem
practically insane to others, but he's a genuinely likable
bean with a wonderful partying ability, which makes
him pretty popular.

As seen by himself
The best party-guy around.

-Reason: Even if a party fails, he sees it as a victory.
His inability to see the downside of a party makes him
view himself as the greatest party-planner of all time.
He almost never views himself in a negative way.

Partying, friends, letting loose, tofu, cake, soda,
pranking, chilling, going to the beach, hanging out.

Dislikes
Judgment, party-crashers, making plans, being led,
being criticized, running out of tofu, T-Rex.

-Interactions

--Manabu: Mercutio's sudden mood shifts
and unpredictable attitude are a bit, well,
intimidating to Mr. Easygoing Manabu, but
when he's in a good mood (which is most of
the time) Manabu loves socializing with
Mercutio, and especially enjoys playing board
games with him.. Even though Manabu
almost always lets Mercutio win.

--Capricorn: Mercutio is a party animal half
the time, a perfect match for the hyper gal
Capricorn. They are good friends and nothing
could break their friendship. They do get into
fights, though; when Mercutio snaps, Capricorn's
intense desire to get the last word usually makes
their arguments intense.

--Lemon Lime: Lime is Mercutio's best friend.
Well, in his eyes, anyway. Mercutio loves to
try and drag Lime to parties, but whenever
he gets him to go, Lime tends to go off and
do his own thing. Not that Mercutio minds,
he can have a ball all on his own. However,
when Mercutio's mood takes a negative turn,
Lime will be Mercutio's go-to guy. Lime's
ability to cheer up almost anybody has helped
resolve a large number of conflicts.

though; they often experience sudden mood swings
and can react extremely poorly under stress. The tiger
is the perfect animal for Mercutio and its traits define

Pouch
Teeth, feathers, snacks.

-Teeth: As a dino bean who loves to eat, this boy was
bound to loose teeth fast. He has kept all of the teeth he
lost, especially the sharp ones, and keeps them in his
pouch for safe keeping.

-Feathers: Mercutio loses feathers. A lot. He keeps only
the ones from the bright, beautiful plumage on his head,
because "It'd be a shame to throw away feathers that
came from a bean so gorgeously attractive."

-Snacks: As stated, he loves to eat. He always keeps a
little snack - usually just a bit of tofu or an apple or two -
in his pouch so he can eat without going through the trouble
of actually getting up and preparing a meal.

Fridge
Tofu, cakes, leftover pizza, and soda.

-Tofu: Mercutio loves tofu and always has some stashed in
the fridge. He wouldn't dare go a day without it.

-Cakes: He asks for the leftover cake at the end of every
party he goes to. It's no surprise that he has a great
abundance of cake.

-Leftover pizza: When he isn't in the mood for tofu, which
is rare, he orders a nice, good old fashioned cheese pizza.

-Soda: What? Milk is more healthy? Drink more water, you
say? Nah. He's good with soda.

Closet
A loose, white beach shirt, black pants, and a belt

-Reason: Mercutio's accessories (to follow) have
been inspired by Baz Luhrmann's modernized
vision of what Mercutio looks like.

W H A T - H E - W E A R S

Commonly worn clothes
A white, almost transparent shirt that he never
keeps buttoned, a purplish belt with a golden
belt buckle, and a pair of black pants. He also
finds himself wearing this to the beach.
Mercutio also has a few gold bracelets that
he likes to wear occasionally.

Almost always worn
He has a golden chain necklace that he always
wears, regardless of the situation. He likes
this necklace a lot, despite it being so plain.

P H I S I O L O G Y

Handwriting
Fancy, despite his rather un-fancy personality

-Reason: Mercutio has always been able to write
well, his enticing party invitations are almost
impossible to refuse. He is extremely persuasive
in both words and writing - and fancy handwriting
is extremely persuasive.

General health
Healthy

-Summary: Mercutio isn't a very responsible bean when
it comes to eating healthy, as his main diet consists of
mainly pizza, cake, tofu, and soda. However, he is rather
healthy other than that, as he tends to move around
alot and keeps thin despite the junkfood he eats.

Medical history
A ton.

-Summary: Mercutio often gets himself hurt due to
his insane drive to prove to others that he is right,
which makes him very, very vulnerable to dares. He
has been challenged to do things so extreme that he
ends up breaking bones, so he has a rather long medical
history that would take far too long to type out. Most
of it is for broken bones or other physical injuries.

Allergies:
Bees

-Summary: After being dared to catch a bee with his
bare claws, Mercutio found this allergy out the hard way.
Thankfully, his allergy isn't too severe; so after a trip
to the hospital, Mercutio ended up fine. He doesn't
try to avoid bees like most people with bee allergies,
and is more frustrated when one buzzes by than he
is afraid of it stinging him.

Chronic Illnesses
Hiccups

-Summary: While the hiccups aren't by definition an
"illness", Mercutio views them as one. He tends to
drink things too fast and therefore gets the hiccups
very often. He completely despises them and finds
them extremely annoying, which explains why he
insisted that "hiccups" should be listed under "illnesses".
