His name is Bacchus, which is the name for the Roman god of wine. Bacchus does have a taste for wine...
Bacchus does not have many nicknames, besides the occasional insults of "drunkard" when stumbling through the street after having a tall glass of wine!
Bacchus's mother pronounced his name often as bach ("ch" as in catch)- us, when in ancient history the Roman wine-lover was called "back-us." Bacchus has always said the ancient Roman figure's name as his own, however.
