Veer-Ivan Eluveitie Konstantin
(Goes by Veer-Ivan rather than simply Veer)
Male

Veer-Ivan has a quiet personality. He does what he wants, & lives life simply. He is not the type to boast, & you might never know that he owns cats or volunteers at an animal shelter unless you see it for yourself. He isn't ashamed of that, but he likes his privacy.
Veer-Ivan's first cat goes by the name Kasimir, though he never comes when called. Barely more than a battered street-dweller, the tomcat had shown up at Veer-Ivan's door on multiple occasions, before finally deciding to hold a permanent residence just over four years ago. Veer-Ivan didn't have any qualms; he had grown used to seeing the grungy cat sunbathing on his porch, or scratching & begging at his backdoor-step for scraps. After the first month of the tomcat showing no interest in leaving, Veer-Ivan let him inside - but not before a bath! Once clean, his previously mud-brown coat became a soft albicant-orange. Vet check-ups came next, once the cat comfortably settled into his new home. Even four years later, the dirty scoundrel still harbors a grudge against Veer-Ivan; water will forever be seen as his enemy, & he won't tolerate a collar around his neck!
Aberdeen was the next addition to Veer-Ivan's household. A rowdy, young tomcat if ever there was one, & the most jealous little monster to ever grace planet earth! The young cat coveted many things, & what this cat coveted, he often received after a tantrum, as a child is wont to do. Veer-Ivan had only been volunteering at the shelter - he wasn't looking for another cat! But, after a mere passing touch of affection from Veer-Ivan, spoiled Aberdeen became attached. Once the cat was attached, there was no going back. When Veer-Ivan made to leave, Aberdeen yowled as loud as his little cat-vocals would allow. He howled & he whined, until, finally, Veer-Ivan relented under pressure. He signed many papers, paid a standard fee, & was sent home with his new tag-along within the hour, much to the chagrin of a disgruntled Kasimir. Unlike Kasimir, Aberdeen had no problem wearing his collar, & desperately enjoyed showing-off at every chance he received.
A year & a half later, the first female was introduced to Veer-Ivan's little family. Veer-Ivan was visiting the shelter once again, during his time off schooling. Unlike meeting Aberdeen, this time Veer-Ivan was prepared. He wanted another cat; hopefully one who could be a role-model for the rambunctious Aberdeen, & who would not bother grumpy Kasimir. That's when he was introduced to Tinkerbell. With a beautifully groomed & well-kept coat of brown & gold, Tinkerbell had obviously
not been a stray. Veer-Ivan was entranced by the sweet, gentle cat. He decided that he wanted her; she was perfect. So perfect, that he supposed there must be a problem. He asked an employee if they knew Tinkerbell's story. The worker informed him that Tinkerbell had been a high-class pet, raised for show. Her previous owners, however, had been neglectful to the darling girl, & Tinkerbell ended up pregnant. Because of her condition, her owners decided that they didn't want her anylonger. Veer-Ivan didn't know what to do. He wanted the cat, but did he want the responsibility, as well? He decided
yes, he wanted her, no matter the responsibility & risk involved. Veer-Ivan paid a high fee for her & her unborn, but in the end, it was worth it when he brought her home to see that not only did Kasimir look his sour self, but Aberdeen, for once in his life, was disgruntled by the newcomer as well!
Note:
I've entered this into various word counter-websites, and they've all counted it differently.
I don't know the exact count, but I assure you that it does not rise above 600.
599 - 597 - 586 - 600
Both pieces of art by me (ZombiePoodle) ^^
