[I used 250 words exactly :D] Milkweed is one of the most valuable plants for monarch butterflies. Entire life-cycles of butterflies can thrive because of one single plant. First a butterfly lays it's eggs on the underneath of the leaves. The plant protects the eggs, and keeps them safe. Once they hatch the baby caterpillars eat the leaves and grow big and strong. Then the caterpillars create cocoons hanging from the leaves and they turn into butterflies. Then the cycle starts again. Milkweed also provides food for aphids, a small light green bug. And then Lady bugs can thrive because they eat aphids! I chose this plant because like it Milky provides a safe and warm place for those in need. Milky is always open to help, especially baby and young beans. She loves to take care of people, and is good at it. She hopes one day to become a foster parent for a baby bean in need. But there is also another side to her. Milkweed (the plant) is often poisonous to grazing animals (some species are more of a danger than others, but don't eat it just to be safe) This shows that she will do whatever is needed to protect young ones. If anyone tries to harm her or the ones she cares for she will become very enraged and will make it stop, by whatever means necessary. She is very protective of them, sometimes overprotective, but she is just trying to help. She will always stand up for those in need.
