POSTING RULES
Posting here in this thread is simple. You can talk about anything related to the SIM, whether it's breeding, selling a horse, breeding, or simply admiring a player's horses. Just keep anything not related to the SIM in private messages.

HOLD UP! So we can post about anything, as long as it relates to something in the SIM? Yes, that's how it works.

If you spam or are rude, the head mod and I keep record of who has strikes. Three strikes, depending on the severity, will get you banned from the SIM. Be generous, please, and treat others how you want to be treated.

BOARDING & 'POINTS' BREAKDOWN
Please read the whole front page before posting this, thanks. When you first start out at SAEC, you are given five stalls for your horses. Each horse, no matter it's age, takes up a stall. If need be, stalls can be bought with credits. To add an extra stall, it costs 5 credits. While that may seem wiser at the time, it is much simpler to save up for a barn of your own, which houses 30 horses at a time, for 50 credits. Stalls can be added to barns as well. All staff have a barn with unlimited stalls.

HOLD UP! How many horses can I board at one time? As many as you can fit, just don't go to crazy at once. You can board one two new horses per real-life week.

Each horse starts out with 40 points that you allocate however you'd like within the skill regions: agility, strength, speed, dressage, stamina, jumping, and beauty. Each competition is specialized in different skill regions, so make sure to read up on showing before allocating your points to your horse.

HOLD UP! in order to board your horse, you are required to have a digital image of them. No stock photos from deviantart, flickr, etc. It can be made in Oekaki or other art programs. If you want to use a stock photo, an artist, or myself can transfer the design to lines.

To make this much simpler, I'm going to break the form down.
Owner, Gender, Breed, Image- This should be simple. (If your horse is not natural, find a breed it looks similar to.)
Show Name- Here is where you place your horse's show name, or the long, fancy name used in competitions.
Barn Name- This is where you can place nicknames for your horses.
Height- Can be anywhere from 6hh to 20hh, but 6hh is a very tiny horse. if you are unfamiliar with horse height charts, make sure to google this.
Skill Regions- Read down in showing for further explanation.
Breeding Status- Is your horse open for breeding? Is it free to breed with your horse? Do you charge credits to breed with your horse? Be specific.
Bloodline- Unless your horse is born inside SAEC from two horses, this must read Stock lines.
Competitions- You list what kinds of competitions you will enter your horses in automatically every two weeks.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
BREEDING & FOALS
Breeding is available here at SAEC. You can breed two of your own horses for free (opposite genders), pay someone to breed one of their horses to yours, or pay someone to breed two of their horses and you receive the foal. Permissions are required. The price depends on the player. You are to private message me with proof of permission (if required), and let whichever artist you want to make the foal know who the parents are. You can pay 2x the player's charged price for a twin (identical or fraternal). A mare may be bred once per real-life month.

HOLD UP! Do you breed all year round, or are there specific breeding seasons? Breeding is all year round. As soon as an artist is done designing your foals, the mare's gestation period is over.

Steps for A Successful Breeding
1. Find a stallion or mare who are at least three years old that you wish to breed your horse with.
2. Pm owner of the horse(if needed), and if they accept, skip on to step three. if not, repeat step one.
3. Pm any of our artists with a quote from the other breeding confirming the action and wait for a reply(or you can both post on this thread). You need to find an artist that does not own either of the horses that are breeding. The foals can not be made by an artist who owns either or both of the horses. .
4. Decide who will own the foal (as the artist can choose to create twins or not).
5. Name the foal and well done, one nice foal!

MARES WHO COMPETE AND ARE BRED
If you breed one of your mares once in any week of the month, she cannot compete until the next real-life month.

TERMS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Stallion- a male horse who is ungelded.
Gelding- a male horse who is unable to breed.
Colt- a young male horse who is unable to breed.
Mare- a female horse.
Filly- a young female horse who is unable to breed.
Yearling- a young horse that is a year old. are usually clumsy and their bodies aren't fully developed.

Image HOW TO EARN/SPEND CREDITS Image
Every player starts out with ten credits, and they are free to use as you choose!

EARNING CREDITS
- credits are given to each player weekly (current amount is 5, will increase when we have more players).
- putting your horse up for breeding (you decide the price (so could be free or however many credits you charge).
-winning competitions (1st=10 credits, 2nd=8 credits, 3rd=6 credits, 4th=4 credits).
- winning other competitions (prize varies depending on what you win).
- selling horses/stables to other players for credits.
- receiving gifts from other players.
- retiring a horse (ten credits).

SPENDING CREDITS
- new stall - 5 credits.
- covering from a stallion - (if credits are charged).
- the owner of the breeding horse can pay 1 credit to get a twin of the foal.
- training - 1 credit for 5 points in one area >> see skills region.
- a private barn - 50 credits .
- entry to Grand Prix competitions - 1 credit per type of competition.
- items from the shop >> see 'the shop'- will come in later.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
BARNS & AGING & RETIRING HORSES
What makes a barn so special?

-You can name them.
-You can add a description.
-They come with 30 Stalls.
-All new stalls bought go into your barn.
-Automatically come with a Trophy Case for all your rosette's and trophies.
- Come with a pasture for your retired horses.

Barns cost 50 credits. This is because they have 30 stalls)! All staff automatically get a barn with unlimited stalls.

Horses age automatically on the first of every month. Horses over two years old age by six months each month. Foals and yearling age by a year until they are two (approximately two real-life months). Once a horse reaches thirty years old, it can no longer enter competitions. At this point, it's best to retire your horse. This gives you 10 credits per horse.

Competitions & Training

Postby ceratosaurus » Sat Feb 15, 2014 7:28 pm

SKILLS- TRAININGS
So, you've come to learn how you can make your horse better in competitions to bring in the credits. This is the place. Training may only taking place whenever competition week is not running.
EARNING SKILLS
A credit will get you 5 points in whichever skill region you want it placed in. Base it on your horses competition specialties. Later on, you may also buy tack and feed from the store that will boost stats immensely.
As stated at the beginning, in order to win certain competitions, you need to know what shows require what skills.

SKILL REGION
Strength
Speed
Stamina
Jumping
Dressage
Agility
Beauty

______________________________________________________________________________________________________
COMPETITIONS
Competitions are not required, but it's highly recommended to sign up for them to earn credits. Regular competitions are based on random chance, and every entry receives a message that details what happened when their horse competed. Breed competitions are based off of who has the most points, so it's wise to train them up as much as you can before entering a competition in breed specialties.
INFORMATION
Competitions are run the last week of the month, so as to not interfere with training stats. So, about competitions:
1. Owners may only have two all-rounder horses as to keep it fair.
2. Any horse that competes in over four competitions is an all-rounder.
3. If you do not wish to automatically enter each month and have one credit deducted per show, let me, or the head mod know.
4. Upon certain circumstances, competitions can be done on the first week.

While I'd love to accept you, the image should be digital. If you'd like, I can create a digital version for you. C;

Oddly, accepted, of course. You should know your way around. Though, take a look at Criminal's competitions. Racing is for thoroughbreds. C:
