Sima Name: Sanuye, a Native American Miwok name meaning "red cloud at sundown." When I first saw this cutie, I immediately searched "red names" for ideas on what to name her. Might not sound that original, but hey - I got this cool name, didn't I?
Gender: As mentioned prior to this section, I have decided to make Sanuye a female. Whether this be because of my lack of female Simas or because of how I envisioned her is completely up to you.
Personality: {{ "I came into this world kicking and screaming, and I'm going out the same way." }}
Sanuye is, to sum her up in one word, bold. Now, this can either mean she's very brave or simply borderline stupid, but that's the only word that fits her perfectly. She just doesn't seem to care what anyone thinks about her, or what they say about her. She doesn't care if they try to hurt her - well, that's kind of a lie. If you dare try to hurt her, whether it be because she started it, or because you simply want a reaction out of her, then you will get hurt.
Sanuye is also very strong, both in the sense that she's emotionally stable and that she's physically fit. She'll fight for what she believes in. If you agree with her, cool. If you disagree with her, that's okay. But if you need to bluntly point out that you don't agree with her lifestyle or something like that, then she will bluntly call you an idiot. Because seriously, it's her life. If you don't agree with it, stay out of it. Just back off and leave her alone.
Also extremely sassy, if Sanuye doesn't like something, (or, as it is more commonly, someone) she's going to point it out. She's not a hypocrite, though. She doesn't really care about your opinions. After all, their yours, and she has no right to put you down for them. But if you try to cram them down her throat, then yes, she is going to probably insult you.
So pretty much, in one word that describes her excellently, Sanuye is independent. She is someone that I can see myself in, and that I can appreciate. Now, the question is, can you?
Short history: A fairly decent life, if you wish to put it that way. Sanuye grew up in a litter of two, with a gentle mother and a loving father. They did not die - not until she was older, at least. Nothing really tragic happened in her life, actually. Sure, she got bullied and hurt a few times, but that's just a way of life. You get over it after a while.
But one day, Sanuye didn't get over it.
Instead of ignoring it like her father taught her to, she let it get to her, and for that, nearly lost her life. Luckily, her older brother helped her back on her feet, and showed her how to stand up for herself. Now, Sanuye won't take trash from anybody. She's strong, independent, and above all, happy.
What are the charms?: Her first charm is a rabbit's foot. You know, for good luck. You see, when she was little, and her grandmother was still alive, Sabana (Sanuye's grandmother) was highly superstitious. She somehow imprinted this behavior onto her granddaughter, and now, Sanuye wears this rabbit's foot on a chain tied around her tail. She'll start to rub it between her paws when she feels like she's in danger.
Her second and final charm, worn around her neck, is a small vial of sand. This one has a deeper meaning to her, and is therefore kept closer to her heart. Sanuye had always been a Daddy's girl. Sure, she loved her mother, but she was extremely close to her father, which is why she never hesitated to accompany him on walks up and down the shoreline. One day, when her father was well into his old age, the two were walking along the beach when suddenly, her father stopped. Sanuye turned to look at him confusedly, and he chuckled slowly. "It's the end of the road, Sanuye," he said wearily, before collapsing into the sand. Sanuye screamed and dashed over to his side, clinging to her father's paw as if it would keep him holding onto what little life he had left. Her father simply looked up at her and said, "I had a feeling I'd die today.... That's why I brought this." From his pocket he drew a small, glass vial, and placed it gently, but firmly in her paw. "Fill this...with the sand...I die on. That way...you'll always have...something to remember..."
He never finished his sentence, as he passed away in her arms.
Story: {{ human* high school AU :: ft. my simas :: 3rd person pov }}
Bleh. Valentine's Day. Or, as she liked to call it, "Single's Awareness Day", the acronym being "SAD".
Sanuye scowled as she walked tensely through the crowd of love bugs and sweethearts, gripping the glass vial around her neck tightly. This had become a habit over the years. A good one? A bad one? Hardly she herself knew.
All Sanuye knew was that if she heard one more girlish squeal, she was going to snap someone's neck. Preferably her own.
The young adult's vibrant red hair (in which she was named for) whipped fiercely at her face, the black tips lashing out at her, much like her harsh tongue would an idiot. The wind blew harshly on her back, forcing her to pick up speed as she hurried through the crowded halls. Just one more period... One more hour of torture, and then she could go home! Then she could forget all about this dreadful day!
"Oi! Sanuye!"
And then Fate had to cruelly strike her in the face. Why, oh why did Life like to torment her so?
With a sigh, Sanuye turned around reluctantly, only to be pulled into a strong bear hug. Jeez, for a PPS Sima, the kid sure had a strong grip...
"Haha, hey Sanny! How's life?" Aldair chirped happily, smiling widely at the older Sima. "I know you don't like Valentine's Day, so I decided to -"
In seconds Sanuye had turned her deathly glare from the kids laughing at her to Aldair. The PPS-ridden Sima froze and listened carefully as Sanuye hissed out life-threatening warnings.
"...and if you EVER call me Sanny again...!!!"
Brrrrring! There was the tardy bell. Sanuye scowled as the younger Sima scampered off, and stalked into her classroom, in a more sour mood than one would think possible of her.
