Scientific name for Tiger's Glass: Mineral resources of the US documents it as just cats-eye or tiger-eye and says no other name has been given, but not sure how recent that info is! Google tells me griqualandite or chatoyant gemstone but griqualandite is just a variation of tigers eye from Africa I believe, and chatoyant is the type of stone, so I'll stick with tigers eye.
