Hello there! I'm CERVIDAL and I'm a non-owner though I hope for that to be changed soon ❤
Your name?
"Oh, hello there! I'm Aurelie {oh-reh-lee}, which is a french name for bird or feathered one. Nice huh? I rather like it"
Gender?
"Why I'm a girl, a female whatever you prefer, do I not look it?"
Spread your wings
Aurelie smiled and took a deep breath, enjoying the breeze as it caressed her fur, as she sat in her garden. It was the beauty and grace of the bird that had first caught her attention.-- She sat staring out the window of her home as her father gaped at the television set ,the speakers blaring. Aurelie turned herself about to look at her father, who was currently eating a microwavable meal, his eyes still locked on the screen. She sighed, her gaze flicking back to the outdoors. Things had been this way since her mother left, and that was a long long time ago. Now all she could do was desperately hope that something would change, anything at all. She sat perched on the top of a small wooden chair, her front paws resting on the windowsill. Her eyes widened as a single bird, glided down into the tropical jungle that used to be their backyard. Aurelie had lived in this same town in New Guinea for all her life and she had never seen a bird quite like this one. It had gorgeous graceful feathers trailing after it as it delicately walked through the tangled mess of weeds. She rushed away from the window and weaved through the dirty mess she called home and flung the back door open, making sure it didn't slam shut she slipped out and tip toed towards the beautiful bird, hiding behind an overgrown shrub. Aurelie edged forward, watching in silent admiration as the bird flew up a few feet and landed nimbly on an crumbling old bird fountain. She inhaled sharply as the magnificent feathered animal looked over to her, as if examining her own dressage. Aurelie looked down at her own awkward body, she had always envied the grace and ease of the bird. As if it understood the fine being strutted around, it's tail feather swaying rhythmically as it walked. She desperately copied it's movements and glided forward. The bird continued it's "lesson" for a few more minutes until Aurelie stood straight in front of the great bird. It looked down at her, spread it's wings and took off spiralling around the garden twice before continuing on. She look down at the earth, somehow disappointed in herself. She looked up once more just to check if the bird would return, she inhaled sharply, her eyes wide as a single scarlet feather spiralled down towards her. She waited for a long moment, positioning herself and the feather landed in the palm of her hand as if it was meant to be. She tucked the feather behind her ear, and there it has stayed for quite a long time. This was the change she had been hoping for, this is what she needed to change things.-- And so they did. Little did she know that the glorious bird was no other than the Greater bird of Paradise.
