Bird Thing: Her love for cuckoo clocks.
It all started with her grandfather. He died on her 4th birthday, but he left with him his antiques that Charmaine use to come in and play with for hours. Yes, she liked simplicity in clocks, but a cuckoo clock fascinated her. Grandfather clocks where to old, and Big Ben? Really? That was just a grandfather clock, but much bigger. Why not a giant Cuckoo clock? A young Charmaine would sit and watch the clock for hours, waiting for that one times it's bird would spring out and 'cuckoo' a certain number of times. Which is also one of the reasons her favourite number is now 12. 12 'cuckoos' would make her dance around in joy. Sometimes, her mother would have to drag her out to the dinner table for lunch. So when she grew up, she took the sane clock her grandfather used, and put it right up on her wall where it could rest.

Have you ever met someone considered “flighty”? Well, that is the adjective with which to pinpoint Anula. Her birdlike nature is in great evidence in the way that she cocks her head whenever she is deeply intrigued, confused, or bored and hoping to find distraction. It is hard for most people to follow her train of thought as well. Whenever she talks, that is, which is a common occurrence. She will switch topics at the drop of a hat, usually to a conversation long- forgotten by the person she is talking to!

When Anula becomes angry, albeit a rare thing to see, her ruff and tail fluff become ruffled and stand up on their own. This would be the perfect time for someone to vacate the premises! For the most part she is a loving- if flighty- companion and always tries to make other people happy before herself!

Bird- related stuff: wip- Another bird JBD friend, (he's owned by me) pet birds, and relationship with them
prettying some stuff.

[center][color#804000][b]u s e r n a m e -[b][color][center]
[center][color#804000]Hello, and I am [i]LITTLEWOLF8.[i] but just call me [i]LW.[i][color][center]
[center][color#804000][b]n a m e[b][color][center]
[center][color#804000]This bean right here, number 660, is named [i]CARAMEILAEA DELIGHT,[i] due of her brown and copper colors, yet she is based of a Greater Bird-of-Paradise.[color][center]
[center][color#804000][b]g e n d e r[b][color][center]
[center][color#804000]She will be a [i]FEMALE.[i] besides, [b]Male Birds-of-Paradise usually have brighter colors, such as the Greater and Lesser Paradise Birds have green on their throats.[b][color][center]
[center][color#804000][b]b i r d - - r e l a t e d - - s t u f f[b][color][center]
[center][color#804000]Delight has many bird-related memories. Extinct birds, like the [i]PALEOSPHENISCUS PATAGONICUS (Penguin species),[i] to bigger, flightless birds like the [i]EMU,[i] to the common birds, such as the [i]CARDINAL, a small, striking red bird with a crest.[i] Most of all, her favorites, the Birds-of-Paradise. [i]Greater, Lesser, King, Blue Paradise birds, and the LYREBIRD and RUFFLEBIRDS.[i] One of her best friends is a Jellybean Dragon Named Pizza (#524, owned by littlewolf8, or me). They enjoy watching birds together, counting as many types of one specimen as they can. As he owns pet birds, so does Delight. She chose a bird familiar to me, you, and her- a Greater Bird-of-Paradise, and named him Pebble. She also has a large relationship with birds. She always looks at the bird section first at pet stores, always keeps out Hummingbird and Songbird feeders, as well as Suet, a chunk of birdfeed and berries in a box shape. She also keeps out the mealworms, a worm type Bluebirds are fond of. She would rather be a vet for birds than any other animal, too. She collects their fallen feathers and stores them in sample bags, that she keeps in her pouch, or wears them...[color][center]

Dakota name meaning "bird". She goes by "Zika" as a nickname c:

gєη∂єя: Female

вιя∂ яєℓαтє∂ мємσяу:
I was very young when I first saw, them, you know. The birds of paradise? They're amazing creatures. I was only a teen, travelling with my father on one of his expeditions to Indonesia when I got the first taste of what is now my greatest addiction. Of course, being a teen and in that "rebel" stage, for the first two days all I did was sigh and roll my eyes, though having been raised in the outdoors I did quite enjoy the environment. It had been a particularly hot, muggy day when I saw my first glimpse, and all irritation and exasperation vanished immediately. I was so captivated by them that I began actually begging my father to tell me more about them.

The next day we went out was even better. Now paying full attention and listening to the things dad had been trying to show me, I was able to see so much more of the jungle and the life that dwelled within it. And, much to my excitement, we got even closer to the flock or Greater Paradise Birds, and with my father's help, I managed to coax one into taking a bread crust from my hand while we were eating lunch. That was a great bonding experience for my dad and I; he was gone on expeditions so much that I barely got to know him. Paired with my mother being the all-night city girl that she was, I never got to experience the beauty of wild birds.

Back to my memory, this lasted for about two weeks: I went out with dad every day to attract as many birds as possible and count them in various parts of the jungle. Our last day, I begged for him to take me into town to the market; I wanted something to remember this trip by. Well, that wasn't such a great choice. The first thing that caught my eye were deceased GPBs; it tore my heart to shreds, and the first thing I did was run back to the jeep, and lay crying in the back seat. Dad tried to comfort me, but at that moment all of the magic of the past two weeks had vanished from the memory.

Dad left me to go into market, as I'd asked him to, and I laid there sniffling as I tried to forget what I'd seen. It wasn't long before I heard a voice, and looked up to find the shopkeeper that had housed the dead birds kneeling beside the door. "I am sorry you had to see that," he had said. "But rest knowing all of those birds died of natural causes, not by hunting. And here, have these; this is what I do for a living." Pulling his hand around, he revealed very beautiful jewelry: two bracelets, a necklace, and an earring made from brightly colored beads and the birds' plumage. I couldn't resist hugging him, and got to go home happy again.

[Word limit 500 words OR 1 art piece and 50 words caption]

'"Today was the day. A few of us were being selected to be taken into a new country. However because of laws and regulations, only a certain amount of bird are allowed into the country. My flock was one of the lucky chosen ones. I wasn't that excited since I didn't believe I would get picked and I would continue living my life with my little family here in New Guinea.

The selectors came in peacefully, trying not to scare us off. Some birds flew away to make sure they were not picked. Others were eager to get picked. Me? I carried about my business just like any other day. The time had come and my mother called me to her side.
'Now darling, you have been picked to be taken,' she informed me with a tear rolling down her face.
Right away many thoughts flew through my mind. Why me? I've never been picked for anything and the one time I do it's to leave my family and friends? It wasn't fair. I loved my life here. I didn't want to change...
'I dont wanna go mumma.. I want to stay here with you.. I love you,' I had pleaded.
'I know this will be hard for you, but you have to be brave. Do this for all of us, do it for the flock. And remember, I will always love you,' were the last words I'd hear my mother say to me.
Before I knew it, I was on a plane to who knows where, with the other exotic birds that were 'lucky' enough to be chosen. After many hours on the plane we had arrived at our destination. A beautiful lush land which I did not know the name of. The calls of many different bird species which I had yet to encounter were ringing throughout the place I assumed I would now call home. It was so fascinating.

It was all so different to where I had grew up. It was abundant with bugs galore. Beyond what I could ever imagine. I used to be afraid and scared about leaving and coming here. But when I arrived, I was eager to explore this new land. Take advantage of what was thrown at me. I was here now I could not change that. An adventurous spirit had taken ahold of me. I never forgot who I was or where I came from. I simply took advantage of my situation and explored my new home."

And that's the shortened down version of my favourite book called Moving Countries. About a little scared bird who developed into a brave and adventurous one. I would have read you the whole story so you could see the transformation that she went under more. But alas, we don’t have such time. I like how even though she was scared, she took advantage of her situation and made it the best for her. I like to think I'm as brave as her.'
