Name origin: This name has sentimental value to me in a way. When I was a little girl, there were fields behind my house. More specifically, canola fields. The bright yellow of the canola flowers were half of the reason I got up everyday; to see the bright, cheery blooms waving in the breeze. The other half of the reason, is that I would throw on my clothes and dash out into the summer sunshine, and fling myself into the flowers.
The cheery yellow of the canola flowers does not match this equines pelt in any way, but the seeds which originate from these flowers are black in tones. Even the inside of the flower matches this mare.
The real reason that this name originated, was that the canola fields are no more, and I miss seeing these brilliant, cheery flowers out my window, so in naming this equine Canola, I'll be more able to remember one of the joys from my childhood.
