Something about your chosen Art Movement: "Neo-Impressionism organizes the system of applying separate colors to the surface so that the eye mixes the colors rather than the artist on his or her palette. The theory of chromatic integration claims that these independent tiny touches of color can be mixed optically to achieve better color quality."
Piece from Movement:
xWhat do you like about the piece?: I like how it so beautifully portrays the art of neo-impressionism. Usually, these pieces either turn out too spotty {which is similar to Pointillism, a different art movement entirely}, too realistic, or poorly done. But this one is truly splendid- it shows you the individual spots and splashes of true neo-impressionism, while still giving the eye room to zoom out and admire the piece as a whole. I really love how well it represents the entire style.

Art Movement Name: Luminism (American Art Style)
Something about your chosen Art Movement: Luminism focuses on the use of light in a painting, often depicted from an aerial perspective. The style emphasizes concealing brushstrokes and depicting a tranquil scene.
Piece from Movement:
Twilight Wilderness by Frederic Edwin Church What do you like about the piece?: This piece really reminds me of my two home states. Warm sunsets over vast mountains. The artist does a beautiful job of making the painting almost seem like a picture, which really attests to his mastery of the style. The use of color to really show how the light washes across the landscape is incredible. Really I can see my herd (and hopefully Recon XD) peacefully grazing along the banks of the river and wandering amongst the forest. <3

Something about your chosen Art Movement: In Cubist artwork, objects are analyzed, broken up and reassembled in an abstracted form—instead of looking at objects from one viewpoint, the artist looks at the subject from a multiple viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater perspective .
Piece from Movement:
This is Called Violin At CandlestickWhat do you like about the piece?: I like this piece because it represents symbolism and originality. Even know you can't see the actual image every well, but This piece shows form. This exact piece also helped me do my art project which was asked to be put in a museum.
I hope I have a good shot at this handsome boy! c:

Art Movement Name: Rococo
Something about your chosen Art Movement: The Rococo Movement was developed in Paris, France, and flourished under the reign of King Louis XV and King Louis XVI. It symbolized the last style of the French Empire (Followed by Neoclassicism, which represented the first style of the French Republic). Known for being light and playful, this art period reflected a view of one's private life. The art of this period displayed delicate swirls, and could be seen as frivolous and even hedonistic. One of it's main objectives was to celebrate court life, as well as represent an overall celebration of life. It was warm and sensuous, and held key ideas such as love, delight, and the idealistic world. The art from this period can be described as graceful, delicate, and elegant. (Think of Ballet, the dainty dance form developed in this movement!) Some of the notable French artists of this period were Antoine Watteau, Jean-Honore Fragonard, and Francois Boucher.
Piece from Movement:
The Swing, by Jean-Honore Fragonard
What do you like about the piece?: This piece is, without a doubt, a perfect representation of this Art Movement. There is a fluidity of line and movement, and the artist really captures the playful nature of this period with his use of fluffy clouds, full and bushy trees, and layers of lacy ruffles on the skirt. It displays a rather carefree, lighthearted nature. There is also bit of naughtiness to it with the man looking up the woman's skirt, however I think this highlights the fact that this movement was meant to express not only playfullness but also the private lives of people. One of my favorite things about this art piece and this movement in general is how starkly it contrasts the
Baroque period(seen before Rococo) as well as the
Neoclassicism period(seen after Rococo). And, as a little add-on, you may have actually seen this piece featured in Disney's newest movie, Frozen:

Congratulations PuddingWaffles!
This was an extremely hard contest to judge, everyone had
amazing entries. Thank you all so much for taking part, I wish I could have picked more than one winner!
Aaaand I'm going back to breedings where I don't have to make these kinds of hard choices hahaha
