What is a Jellybean Dragon?

A Jellybean Dragon is a fluffy, friendly dragon that hatches from a jellybean-like egg. Their diet consists of fruits and insects, but they also love sweets and desserts. Their fur is soft and long, usually brightly colored, neat, and shiny. Jellybean Dragons are mostly gentle and happy, and love attention. Most are Great Dane-sized when they are fully grown, but some of them can grow as big as a cow. All Jellybean Dragons have pouches on their bellies, which they use to carry around food or younger JBDs.

This bean is based off a Scottish fold and has shorter legs than most beans.
He/she also has YFS C which means this bean will not grow horns and will stay this size.
However, this bean doesn't have to be a kid/baby.

This ends on the 16th.

Postby sheepsorrel » Tue Jan 14, 2014 11:47 am

I AM THE SUN
kar- the the bright light

name
this lovely little beans name is akarui. it means 'bright' in japanese, and thats just what he is. His nicknames include kar, akar, akari, ak, and akaru.
gender
this little fellow, as i have said before, is a boy. They refer to this as male.
age
in his anthro form he is nine! so in human years, he is nine. nine, or 9, a lucky number.
username
i'm portal., a non-owner who is not active on the fanclub. i will be if i get this little boy, though!

the snack

Image
one upon a time, when kar was still a little tyke, he hated two things. Bananas and bread. Now, he was an intelligent young fellow, and whenever his mother tried to trick-feed him them, he found out and got real mad. Anyway, one day, his mother taught the little guy how to catch two fish with one hook! She sliced some bread, worked real hard to burn a smile on it, and put sliced bananas on for eyes. She called 'im in, and he gobbled it down. It was a good plan, wasn't it? Now they call it 'banana bread'.

kat is a very smart little jelly bean. he can fix almost anything you give him, and he's capable of doing things much older beans could do. being this smart, he is also 'talented', and can draw very well despite his paws.

Image

ⓐⓝⓣⓡⓗⓞ ⓟⓔⓡⓢⓞⓝⓐⓛⓘⓣⓨ
its kats anthro form, he is just like his normal form. he has one daredevil bit though, and he has a bike to prove it with. being talented, he draws very well with his left hand as well as his right, and can also fix many things.

    vintage. owner of one bean, Hatter Enigmus. Active member of the JBDFC.

Image __ Image
    Corto. { court-toe }. This name means 'short' in Spanish, and I think it suits him beautifully.

Image __Image
    Try as I might, I cannot see Corto as a lass. He is a lad.

Image __Image
    Corto is 19, not yet in his twenties, but old enough to be considered an adult.

Image __Image
    Corto is a daredevil. This outgoing young man loves anything that can kill him. Corto is always smiling, and ready for what the world will throw at him. He sees life as a rollercoaster- it has its ups and downs, some of the downs being his legs. Don't get me wrong, this little man does not let his legs get in his way. Definitely not. He uses his legs as his inspiration- because he is different, and things are a little harder for him, he pushes more. For him, the cup is half full.

    Corto is incredibly vivacious. You will find this lad jumping around, always ready to go and do something active & fun. Some beans say he can't do 'normal' things because of his legs- I beg to differ. This lad has skydived, bungee jumped, and scaled the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Corto will never, ever say 'I can't' or 'That's impossible.'
    For him, nothing is impossible. He has conquered every challenge life has thrown at him so far, from bullying in his younger years, to sniggering and chuckling, through all the 'You can't do that' or 'You'll never amount to anything'. He has showed everyone that he is small, but mighty.

    Corto may, or may not have 'little bean syndrome'. If a bean is rude to him, even a larger bean, Corto will not hesitate to sass them and snap at them. He gets angry about his size rather easily when he is in a bad mood, and eventually his anger leads to him being upset with himself about yelling at someone.

    A Scottish dessert, Cranachan {kah-ran-exan}. This delicious snack is made out of whipped cream, whisky, heather honey, raspberries, and oatmeal. Ah, to describe the flavors! The strong, malt flavor of the aged, Scottish whisky, calmed by the sugary cream and oatmeal. The oatmeal, by the time you reach it, will be soaked with the mingling flavors of everything, including the raspberries that are tastefully placed on top, or layered throughout the dish. It is strong, yet cool on your tongue. The whisky adds an element of fun, although caution should be exercised with how much whisky is used. For young beans, it is recommended to replace the whisky with vanilla flavours. For older beans, any amount can be used.

╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Name: Ainsley "Pippin" Fairbairn;
Ainsley is a Scottish surname that comes from a name of a place: either Annesley in Nottinghamshire or Ansley in Warwickshire. The place names themselves mean either; "Anne's field," or "hermitage field," from Old English ansetl, "hermitage," and leah, "woodland, clearing". I've also always loved the name Ainsley, and have just been waiting for the right character to give it to.

╔═════════════════╗

Gender:
A little lass, this one.

Age:
Seven.

╚═════════════════╝
Fairbairn is also a Scottish surname, meaning, "Beautiful child" in Middle English. It is also a Hobbit last name in the Lord of the Rings books- the married name of Samwise Gamgee's first born daughter, no less. (Sam is one of my favourite characters)

Ainsley has many many nicknames (Mostly thanks to Anevay...) and is hardly ever called by her real name. Anevay's favourite, and the most popular nickname (she even introduces herself as it sometimes) is Pippin, which is often shortened further to just Pip. Halfling, Hobbit, Lassie, Short Stack, and Pipsqueak are others.

Image
Personality:
|| Adventurous || Imaginative || Mischievous || Riddle-Loving || Self Conscious About her Height ||
|| Over-Dramatic || Clever ||Irresponsible || Impulsive || Talkative ||

Ainsley loves to go on adventures. Even a simple walk in the woods is an adventure for her- with her wild imagination, that simple walk could turn into anything- hunting for fairy dust, on-the-run bandits, anything her little brain can think of. Her imagination is so vivid, she often manages to convince herself that some of the creatures she's read abut, or created in her own mind even, are real, which excites her like nothing else. Her vivid imagination can often get the better of her, and her stories can sometimes scare smaller beans, but seeing the emotions her stories can bring out in others amuses her greatly.
Along with story telling, Ainsley loves giving and solving riddles. They make her feel quite clever, indeed. Riddling contests are her favourite thing to do when she's not off on an adventure; the faces of stumped beans makes her giggle.
Ainsley can be quite the mischief-maker when paired with the right beans as well. Her imagination allows devious little plots to form, and with the right help, lord help the bean these plots are made for. Though, I'd be careful in leaving any important parts of the plan for her to do, or in getting her to do anything of importance. She's quite irresponsible and impulsive, and would likely screw it up royally. These qualities often get her into many sticky situations

Favorite snack:

Rumbledethumps
Image

Rumbledethumps are a traditional Scottish dish, consisting of potato, cabbage, and onion. To make rumbledethumps, one must lightly saute shredded onions and cabbage in butter. Then you add potatoes, mashed with butter, salt, and pepper,and mix the ingredients thoroughly. The mixture is then placed in an oven-safe dish, with cheese sprinkled on top, and baked to a golden brown on top.
Ainsley loves this dish, as it reminds her of her home in Scotland. Her mum used to make this dish for her when she was little- she hasn't met anyone yet who can top her mum's rumbledethumps.

            Name?
        This JBD's real name would be Christopher, though he would rather be named Tigger, and even has a Tigger plushie. He become obsessed with the actual 'Tigger character once he first laid eyes on the cartoon. He even picked up a few of Tigger's habits. Such as, the once mentioned about the fictional character Tigger below. Tiggs and Tig-Tig are common nicknames.
        "A fictional character from the Winnie-The-Pooh stories, best known for resembling a tiger, but with a tendency for bouncing around on his tail. He was voiced primarily by Paul Winchell, and best known for his laugh as well as his song, 'The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers.' Despite the fact that he tends to refer to himself in the third person sometimes, as well as in a plural tense, his theme song claims that he's the only one.
        Tigger <upon greeting Pooh for the first time>: Hello, I'm Tigger!
        Pooh: Oh, you scared me!
        Tigger: Uh, sure I did! Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Everyone's scared of Tiggers!"

        This Mippi is a male. He could pass for a female I suppose, though I feel more comfortable making him a male. c:

            A G E ?
        Six. He would grow, eventually of course, but when he finally does age, I see him being a very cocky male getting all the ladies because he's 'cute' Cx I would like to keep him young for awhile though. Young, and innocent. <3

            F A V O R I T E - S N A C K ?
        "Ants on a log." No, not actual ants on a log, silly. Ants on a log is celery smothered in Peanut utter with raisins on top. He developed this idea after his mother told him he couldn't eat anymore peanut-butter smothered raisins unless he ate something healthy, so he decided to try his attempt with celery, though he finds that it worked well with apples too. Ants on a dead leaf anyone?

Tigger is a young, playful, charismatic six year old who never fails to make you laugh. Tigger will fuss and squirm when you hold them up to your shoulder and is just fine when you turn him away from you so he can watch the world around him. He's the kid who grab your attention the minute they come home from school or child care by shoving their papers into your face. He needs to talk and he needs to talk now! Too much time alone can leave Tigger drained and irritable. He'll clamor to bring a friend home from school or complain he's bored when there's no one to play with. You may worry about his self-esteem time to time because he rarely chooses to play by himself unless he has a cardboard box. But even then he would prefer company- he's just really playful. When he's upset, he don't want to be alone. He'll follow you around, touch you, and move right into your space. If you want him to take a break, he will – but only if you go with him, which often isn't what you need at all. Ask them how he feels, and he'll have an immediate answer, which may change the more he talks and "thinks" about it. Basic sports equipment, such as footballs, jump ropes, and pogo sticks, are ideal for Tigger- who craves physical stimulation. Tigger's parents swear that a big garden trampoline is a worthwhile investment for such purposes, though he prefers games from time to time. Don't forget that novelty is also stimulating for Tigger. His mother put together a filing box of special projects for such times—this could contain recipes of things her and Tigger could cook together, instructions for a treasure hunt, or even a challenge to make three musical instruments out of household objects. Many books are available as well, but again- Tigger prefers games. While convalescing, Tigger is given access to a special box of treasures assembled by his mother specifically to keep him entertaines. The box contains a series of intriguing but everyday items: a beautiful shell, a paper fan, a miniature doll. Each treasure is individually wrapped and packed in a compartment of a special chest. The reason why the box keeps the passing times heroine so happily occupied is because it comes out only on rare occasions. Consequently, its contents retain an aura of special fascination. The principle of holding back a selection of toys or games that are brought out only on selective occasions is a good one. It can provide a really useful resource for Tigger when bored or in need of stimulation. Many of today's children are completely deluged with gifts at Christmas and birthdays. Whereas Tigger's enjoyment impact by staggering access to him through the year?

A few of Tigger's traits;
-He wants to do everything in a BIG way
-He has LOTS of energy
-He loves the outdoors
-He loves animals
-He loves to participate in sports and other physical activities
-He's extremely aware of his environment
-He has a strong aesthetic appreciation for beauty
-He needs to be constantly busy, and usually have several projects going on
-He is are usually artistic when in the mood
-He loves to be the center of attention
-He's very practical and grounded in reality

Potential Strengths
-He's generally cheerful and almost always in a good mood
-He's usually popular and well-liked by almost everyone
-He picks up on other people's behaviors and attitudes more quickly than any other type
-He gets a great deal of enjoyment out of life, and treats life like a big party
-Very good memory for details
-Extremely observant - the most observant
-Extremely generous
-Like and accept almost everyone

Potential Weaknesses
-General acceptance of everyone may make them poor judges of character
-Tend to be materialistic
-Cannot see the big picture in most situations
-Tends to be thrill-seekers
-May be overly loud and boisterous
-Very impulsive
-Does not have the ability to use his intuition at all, or extrapolate anything from one situation into another
-Frequently does not follow through on tasks or plans
-Have a difficult time taking anything seriously
-Lives in the present moment, and have difficulty foreseeing the consequences to their actions

Tigger has ESP.
"ESP children require explicit instructions when performing a task. They need to have the expectations for the task clearly defined before they can understand what they are supposed to do. Loosely defined assignments, where the outcome is unclear or extremely individualized, will not sit well with the ESP, and they will not perform these kinds of tasks well unless they get clear instructions on how to do them from some source. ESPs learn best with lots of hands-on experience. When shown how to do something, they are usually able to pick it up quite easily. Physically, ESPs are usually very coordinated and agile. They can learn new physical tasks with great speed and accuracy. ESPs have a short attention span. They are easily distracted by just about anything that occurs in their environment. They are also extremely social, and often get distracted talking and interacting with other children. An ESPs attention will be retained longer if they are allowed to interact with their environment while learning. They do well with team activities, or when allowed to work with other kids. ESP children have a tremendous amount of energy, and are very physically oriented. They can't sit still for more than a few minutes before they start to wiggle around and get very bored. Working with other kids may help combat this problem, or a teacher could try some alternative lesson plans that include combining physical activity with learning. An example of this might be reading a poem and acting it out at the same time. In general, ESP children need to have a lot of new mental and physical stimulation. They are extremely curious and observant, and seek new experiences constantly. They are extremely aware of their immediate environment, and cannot ignore that awareness. They learn best doing activities that combine the mental learning with their physical environment. Activities that do not include a strong physical, tangible, reality become boring very quickly to the ESP. ESP kids need to be constantly moving, and will have a hard time in situations where they are required to sit in one place for any length of time. Teachers and parents should be aware of these needs, and design activities that incorporate physical activity as much as possible. ESPs need to be busy in general. They get easily bored and need a lot of stimulation and new experiences to remain cheerful and to continue to grow. Because ESPs live so much in the present moment, it's important that they receive corrections immediately when a problem occurs. Waiting until later will seriously diminish the effect of the action. Any disciplinary or corrective action should be pointed and swiftly administered. By saying this, we are not referring to physical discipline, and in no way condone any kind of physical abuse of your children. For ESPs, actions speak louder than words. They learn best by example, and should be provided with models of behavior. They will pick something up best if they are shown how to do it, rather than told how to do it. If you want to teach them how to act in a certain situation, they will learn this best if you show them how to act with your own behavior. ESP children are great mimics, and are very likely to pick up on the behaviors of their parents and other important adults in their lives. ESP children routinely test their boundaries. These kids may be the sort to get themselves into trouble frequently. It's very important that clear boundaries be set for them. These boundaries should be very explicitly defined, and should be consistently reinforced. ESP children do not have good use of their Intuition at this age, so it's very important that rules are spelled out for them. If a rule has been made for a certain situation, they will probably not automatically apply that rule to a different similar situation. They require explicit instructions. ESPs are likely to have trouble remembering and following rules - even if they have been clearly defined. Adults should remind ESPs of the rules frequently, spelling them out in their entirety. Expectations for the ESP's behavior should be made explicit, and they will need to be reminded. Adults must be consistent in enforcing these rules."

JBD #635 - The Cat Bean

Postby labradude » Tue Jan 14, 2014 11:49 am

Image
Image

Name ;;
There is only one name that completely suits this bean.
Garfield.
Despite that, some call him Munchkin. x3

Gender ;;
Heheh, I'd make this little beanie a boy.
Age ;;
He just turned five.
Personality ;;
Image
Well, let me start off with saying Garfield believes he is a dog.
He insists that he wears a collar at all times, and has quite the assortment of different colors. The boy loves getting out of the house and licking other people, jumping up on them, playing with tug ropes, everything.
Now that I think of it, he can't actually communicate, other than barks and yaps.
He can't speak to other JBD's, and doesn't know English. This makes it hard for the baby to say what he wants, so he knows some sign language, like hungry, stop, thank you, more, book, outside, play, and things of the like.
Because Garfield can't talk, he sometimes gets very whiny and can be quite immature, whimpering and clawing at things. But that's only because he doesn't really know what to do. Usually, though, his tail is wagging, and his tongue is flopping out of his mouth. He loves baths, and pawing at his ears, as well as pouncing on random objects. Some of Garfield's favorite things to pounce on are butterflies, leaves, and toes.
Though this kitty bean is through with his teething stage, he still has the bad habit of gnawing on objects like toys, and fingers, and tails, so I have to watch out for what he gets his mouth on. It'd be very unfortunate if he got a hold of something that had meat in it, which has happened a few times before. ^^; Nor does it help that Garfield is very curious, and likes to get into things he's not allowed to.
Lastly, he doesn't like his short legs. He may think he's a dog, but Garfield isn't stupid. He's aware of when people are talking about him, and often trips and is thought to be more clumsy because of his feet. So, because of that, you often see Garfield hobbling around, or face-first on the ground. ;3;

    To any judges...
    Please don't feel obligated to read all this! It's an extended piece of my form in which I chose to do, so if you do not wish to read it, feel free go with your desire! Even skimming over it is fine~
Enjoy!
Image
    _______The 'Good' Side ;;

    ____|| Optimistic ||
    __When promised or offered little things, Garfield sees the best of the situation, and his eyes will brighten, his smile widening. He likes to think of the good sides of situations, and usually remains hopeful. He lost his favorite collar? No worries! He'll most likely begin sniffing around and search high and low until it was found, and then be glad that all his collars didn't go missing.
    ____|| Cheerful ||
    __Garfield is almost always happy. His tongue is usually flopping out of his mouth, his eyes alert. When he's not sitting down and staring blankly and confidently at someone, he's usually bouncing around down the sidewalk. With his cheeky smile, who could mad at the merry little guy?
    ____|| Clumsy ||
    __Seeing as Garfield loves to run around, bounce around, race, chase, anything - He falls a lot. And his short little legs don't really help. Usually he just gets back up and continues running. The poor little lad never learns. He's also pretty haphazard and somewhat disorganized, but other times needs things in perfect order. It's an odd little quirk the fellow has.
    ____|| Affectionate ||
    __He loves to love. And honestly, sometimes that can go a little too far. He's often following me around the house, or following his friends, and when I finally get the chance to sit down, there's little Garfield hopping up in my lap. It's hard to refuse, because who could to that to this little guy? Besides, by the time I can respond, he's usually curled up in a ball, the bean's tail thumping against whatever surface I was sitting on. He loves cuddles, and he loves to meet new people. Most of the time.
    ____|| Curious ||
    ___Garfield loves to try new things, to explore new places, and generally enjoys learning. He also quite likes to go snooping in the business of others. If he sees something flitter from the corner of his eye, the boy will wander off to discover what that was. If he smells something, he'll dig to find it, even if that means dropping what he was previously doing. He wants to know more, and be in everyone's faces, and know everything that's going on.
    ____|| Eager ||
    __Always enthusiastic when to go to new places, to try new things, or to do things he's done before! He loves going outside, for car rides, and looks forward to sitting in front of the oven and watching his doggy biscuits bake every time. Garfield often gets his hopes up when he thinks someone mentions something, his ears perk and he stays extra close to their sides in anticipation.
Image
    _______The 'Bad' Side ;;

    __Despite the fact that Garfield is, for the most part, a cheery and bouncy bean, sometimes he can get frustrated. He has his own faults, as all of us do. Some of them are more minor, others may be a bit more of a problem, but I still love the little guy nonetheless.

    ____|| Loud ||
    __Although he doesn't talk, Garfield has a tendency to bark. He barks when he wants attention, when he thinks others may be a threat, when he's happy. These noises sound more like yaps, but can vary depending on the reason he woofs. That's not it, though. My buddy here yaps, whimpers, growls, occasionally purrs, slobbers, and slurps.
    ____|| Impatient ||
    __Garfield hates waiting. He doesn't like being told to stay put, or having to hold on, anything. He needs a response immediately. For example, if he wanted the door to be opened, after yapping a few times with no response, he'd get frustrated. He needs schedules, especially for the times he eats and goes to bed.
    ____|| Irritable ||
    __It's not very hard to get Garfield irritated. Mainly when he wants something and has been begging 'forever,' or when someone does not give the boy what he wants, he gets frustrated. The little bean thinks that all others know sign language, so when he signs to ask for something or barks at them, he expects them to know what he wants. He wants what he wants when he wants it, and when Garfield doesn't get that, he gets extremely agitated and may start crying. The boy is simply very tired of no one understanding what he wants, and each time, he gets a little bit more infuriated. Usually his outbursts and mini tantrums happen when he was already in a bad mood, and usually when he's in a good mood they don't even occur, but it varies between all the different situations.
    ____|| Imploring ||
    __To implore is to beg someone desperately or earnestly for something, according to Google. Garfield does this a lot, to get what he wants. Begging is but a mere fun game. He'll beg for a snack, or for a toy that caught his eye, anything really. Even other little beans. He'd stare at them with big expectant puppy dog eyes, his tail gently thumping on the surface behind him, the cat bean's tongue flopping out of his mouth, just in order to get a mere object he wishes for.
    ____|| Greedy ||
    __This little guy doesn't quite understand the concept of sharing. In his little basket of toys, he hoards his items, and usually won't allow others to go near his stash. He'll growl at someone approaching 'his' territory, a light and non-intimidating snarl. If he sees something that another bean has in which he wants, Garfield will beg for it, or snatch it while they're not looking. I've gotten in trouble a few times because he's wandered into a pet store and tried to bring home all the tug ropes.
    ____|| Protective ||
    __Garfield is a bean who covets his possessions, as well as those of which he loves. He's a little protective of me, and apparently I'm not allowed to pet anything else without petting him at the same time. Unless he gives something to another person or dragon by carrying it to them in his mouth, his stuffed animals are off limits. If one does manage to grab a hold of one, Garfield pounces on them and bites. Of course, his nips don't hurt in the slightest, but after that warning fails, I wouldn't be surprised if the fellow had a tantrum. .3."

Favorite Snack ;;
Banana Pops are his all-time favorite treat.
They have to be shaped like dog biscuits, though.

You also can't forget the lasagna.
Garfield loves lasagna.

I also got knight of time / Iced_Mocha's permission to use the name Garfield!
Her bean, usually called BD, has the full name of Garfield J. BeastDragon.
If needed, I can screenshot the conversation, and Garfield's name can be changed! ^^;

Thanks for reading, and good luck judging! ;v; <33
