I was hesitant to enter for this one, just sitting looking at it, because I hate "impress me/make your own form" contests, mostly because I can't do art and other people can and I just never win. *shrug*

I didn't think of her as steampunk. I actually did think of her as a messenger at first.

I guess I will enter a WIP, though I'm sure people will show me up with art again. >->

Hey there. I'm Iris. It means Messenger. Obviously, you can see that I'm a messenger. I work in the city. It's dangerous. That's why I like that one movie, Premium Rush...anyways, wouldn't wanna give away Spoilers. So, I'm not only a messenger, I'm an engineering. I'm trying to make metal wings, so that I can fly. I wish I could fly, Just like my partner, Shiloh. He's a Blue Jay. I was never much of a bird Lady, but when he came to me, I knew deep inside, he was my eternal pal. My mother's name was Kallik. She wasn't the "I'll-Buy-Your-Love" Type, she was more like the "You'll-learn-your-lesson" Type. She was super strict. That's why I liked to stay outside and go up and down the neighbor hood delivering mail.

I was the kinda lad you didn't wanna mess with. I live in Manhattan. I'm apart of a gang. You know, there's the guy every girl falls for, the girl that's his girl friend, that girl who always tags along because she's friends with the one dating the hot guy, and there's the hot guy's friends, and their girl friends, then there's the girl who's always telling them we shouldn't do this, then there's me. The dare devil. The one everyone always stares in awe at. The one who always leads everyone into danger. The one who always saves the day. The one who wants to be a some body. The one who is slowly breaking apart from the group. The one who is being made fun of, but still holds her head high. I might have lost my rank, but I didn't loose my pride.

Stranger? That's me. Lost? That's me. An Achiever? That's me too. I may be alone, with pride, with life, the one who's going to be a somebody, the one who will rule this town, I have a life set out, and I'm going to snatch it. I have friends now. Shiloh and Lydia. I think I wanna spend my life with them. As Partners traveling the world! I might even move to a quiet village where everybody knows everybody. I might even start to seek out a boyfriend. A mate even. But for now, I'm going to stay that girl who stands tall, with her head held high, the one who hasn't lost her pride, the one who's going to be a somebody, the one who is going to be unique, one of a kind, not quite perfect, but strange. Perfect in every way, but in her own way.

I'm not much of a singer, but I do enjoy a good song to sing. I like Pop music, more like whats now in. But When I was younger I loved to sing country songs with my dad when we worked on my mechanical wings. They are actually nearly done. I just have to pain them! They were made like a real body part. I use my mind to tell them to move. My dad was amazing at the technical stuff. I never really understood it, but I hope to grow up to be like him, all mechanical and stuff, and to be a Messenger too! My father was amazing, he had every trick up his sleeve. I used to call him a secret wizard or magical being who was from another planet who was brought here to bring magic to the world. I loved his so much, I wanted to learn every trick he could muster up.

I've have always had a gift with nature. It's beauty is just mesmerizing!I remember when my old den got destroyed, so we had to set out to find a new den, but what drawn us to our home was the nature. We hound an old abandoned human house to live in, right next to a forest and a large lake. I used to sit by the lake with my father and he'd show me how to skip rocks. Mine always sank, it was always magical to watch my father do his magic. That night when he died really tore me apart. When winter came, the lake always froze over with ice. So my father, he used that time to cross the lake and hunt. When my father went out there that one night the ice broke and he drowned.
