My favorite christmas memory… It's hard to tell.. There've been so many, but If I had to choose one it'd have to be when I was very young, and my parents had taken me to my grandfather's house that year.. I always loved going to my grandfather's house during christmas, since he'd always have it completely decorated, and he always had the best christmas tree.. When we got there, I was so excited to see all the lights on the house, making it seem almost as if it were going to a lit up winter wonderland. The tree he had was my favorite.. It had all of my favorite colors on it.. White lights loosely draped on it, along with dark teal ornaments and gold tinsel lining the large Fir, but my favorite part of it was the beautiful star on top.. It was light gold with teal weaved into it, and multiple diamond shaped holes that the light shined through. Every night I'd sneak out of bed just to see the tree, and of course to see what presents were beneath it, since each day there'd be a new one. On the day before christmas eve, my grandfather told me to come with him on a walk through the snow. I had bundled up in my warm clothes and quickly followed him out the door. The sun was just beginning to set, making sky turn a gorgeous mixture of gold and orange, along with large fluffy clouds. The way the now orange light shined over the pure white snow was amazing, and a sight that you'd only see once in a lifetime.. I can still vividly remember it.. After a while of me and my grandfather, whom I called Pa at the time, walking we had stumbled upon a small, ice cycle covered tree. Since it was now night, the soft light of the moon shimmered through the pointed ice, making the light on the snow glisten. My grandfather told me that this was his favorite spot to go to when he was younger during december, he told me that the tree hid secret winter magic that would make any christmas dream come true. After he had told me that, I went up to the tree and stared up at the icy branches. I had closed my eyes, making a wish, a wish I had wanted for a long time. Afterwards me and my grandfather started on our way back home, since it was starting to get too late. After that, on the night of christmas eve, I recited my wish quietly in my head as I laid in bed, hoping for it to come true the next morning. When I had fallen asleep, I heard a faint noise in the living room where the tree was. I opened my eyes quickly and sprung out of bed, tiptoeing out of my room and down the long hallway towards the stairs. As I peaked over the railing of the stairs, I noticed something red move passed the coffee table where I had left the plate of cookies and milk. I quietly walked down the carpeted stairs to see who was there. As I saw who exactly it was, my eyes widened and my face brightened. It was a bean dressed in red and white.. His fur was pure white almost like the snow I had seen during the walk. He seemed to be placing presents beneath our tree. I crept a little closer to get a better look, quiet words escaping my mouth… "S… Santa..? I whispered. The bean glanced back at me with a merry smile and a small amount of cookie crumbs on his mouth. I giggled a little at the sight of the crumbs, but before I could say or do anything else, the pure white bean and vanished up the chimney. I gasped a little and ran to the chimney, peaking my head in and looking up it. There was no sight of the jolly creature… After that I had scurried quickly back up to my room and jumped into my bed, a look of amazement still on my face. The next morning, I was already downstairs looking at my gifts before my parents and grandfather could even wake up. Once they came down I gave them an bright smile, holding one of the small, wrapped square boxes in my arms. My parents shook their heads and smiled and my grandfather smiled, a hearty chuckle escaping his lips. After I had opened my gifts, my mother kneeled down to me with a smile "Did you have a nice christmas sweetie?" she asked. I nodded my head quickly and looked out one of the windows, smiling widely "This is the best christmas ever…" I whispered…
And that… Is my favorite christmas memory...
